Nope. Not like in Photoshop, with a large, dynamic duplicate of your working image.

Painter 8 and Painter IX include the Info palette where you can see a small dynamic view of your image (Window > Show Info).

When you're zoomed in and want to see your entire image, at the bottom left corner of the image window click the Navigator icon (binoculars) to see a slightly larger non-dynamic view of your whole image. You'll see a red rectangle indicating the area of the image currently displayed in the image window. Click and drag the red rectangle to navigate to another area of the image and that area will now be displayed in the image window. Click in the image to close the Navigator view.

If you want to see a large view of your entire image use File > Clone. Again, this is not a dynamic duplicate of your image, but it will work for a quick glance and you can close the Clone when you're finished looking, then use File > Clone again when you want to take another look. Using Custom Palettes, you can add menu command buttons to make this process very quick.
