this is a not so lowpoly model..i am aiming for 8000 far i am well within that range..

continuing from the thread wrongly posted in the 3D stills forum

here is what i have done so far....feel free to critique and point out the mistakes... ( (

when i get the bodyshape right i will start with the clothes.

I think one problem with the character is the overall proportions: The legs look too thin from the side for one. They also seem too short, as well as the feet seem to small. I'd say check you reference some more. if you aren't using any get some from The general forms of the body seem okay, I'd just say you need to try and get them in proportion.

Even though you want to do a higher poly character you still need to work smart with how you use them. The abdomen area seems to have way too many wasted polys. The edgeloops down the back seem excessive. There are also many other areas you could clean up.

Overall you could still save a few hundred polys if you tidied things up.

i agree with the proportions being a bit off, and as for the weird topology it almost looks like you used a mesh smooth, if thats the case, i try not to use mesh smooth, granted when i model im generally modeling for the ut engine or the nwn engine to 8000 polys is way out of my range.

i used some muscle topology images from this site as references.....still i will look into the proportions.... and clean up the unwanted polys...

and i havent used mesh smooth ..the mesh smoothed model is like 20000 polys
