View Full Version : FS2004: Messerschmitt BF-109

Another project for the microsoft flightsimulator. I work together with 2 other people. I want to create the most famous series of the BF-109 flyable for everybody. On the images you can see the G10 (early and late version) and G2 Trop. The F4 is almost done. There I only need to complete the retractable tailwheel. Another intended version is the G6 and the famous Emil E4 or E3. Each versions will come with at least 2 different liveries/warpaints. The pilotmodel is complete but the textures still need some work ( ( (
The "Black 6" based in Duxford; England. (G2 Trop) ( (
The "Black 11" (late G10). Reference was a model by Revell. ( ( (
The "Black 2" (early G10) based in Manching, Germany (
The pilot is moving his head and eyes to the flight direction as well as the arms and legs which visually control the aircraft.

Btw, all images are ingame screenshots.

Very impressive, this one is better than IL-2's Messerschmitt!

Could You post shaded & wireframe render and texture sheets? I'd love to see them. What's trianglecount?

You've got 5 stars from me, awesome screenshots. I don't unfortunately own FS :(

Wow! Very impressive! Makes me wanna install FS2004 again, but no.. no more MS stuff on my pc besides Windows.

Anyway, I haven't seen any planes for FS with that quality before! I'd like to see some flats and wireframes if you will :p

Is that acutally a german pilot? It looks USA to me, but I could be wrong.

Beautiful reconstruction of the real deal, I used to fly a radiocontrolled version of the Bf109, not any more... :) it is a risky business being a WWII pilot, too sharp turns and you fall out of the sky as a pigeon that just went through a jet engine.

Thanks to all.
The aircraft has around 32.000 tris. It's still very easy to handle for the engine. ( ( (

The textures with right fuselage and left wing. ( (

All together I have 4x 1024, 2x 512, 6x 256 and 1x 128x64. But I don't want to show them all ;) .

Some more detailshots from upper side and lower side with extended landing gear and opened cowling flaps. ( (

It's a german pilot. There are many uniforms available. I have choosen the black leatherjacket with yellow life vest and dark blue trousers. I have also seen some german pilots with white shawls. The pilots of trop versions still get another tropical uniform. But I know a F4 captured by the british airforce painted in RAF colors. Looks very interesting. This one could get an american or british pilot.

These maneuvers are also possible in the flight simulator. I hope we get "Walter Eichhorn" to test the flight attributes. He is pilot of real Me109 aircrafts and living in germany. Good conditions to create a very realistic flightmodel

After finishing the Dragunov high poly model I will continue the virtual cockpit. I have over 300 highres images of the real cockpit (G2). Enough stuff to create a pretty realistic cockpit.

I'd give You another 5 stars, but I can't ;)

Thank's for wires and textures, it's simply awesome. Do You have a website? I'd like to see more stuff from You :buttrock:

WOW!! Lovely work.

Fantastically clean models. Supurb work.

I just found a pretty good site to upload any files up to 250mb. Big enough to post a link to a short ingame sequence with an older version of the "Black 11" without pilot and shiny spinner. It's only a landing sequence. So don't expect any crazy flight maneuvers :) .

Download Ingame Movie (
I hope it's working better than imageshack but you must wait 45 seconds before you can download the movie.

Great stuff. Maybe you should post this and your Dragunov on to get more crits concerning possible historical or technical issues.

I have no crit for that.
Thats looks awesome. Nithing to say only that it would be cool to see this in actions.
5 stars from me.

I just finished the highpoly panel. I need it just to render a 2D panel for the virtual 3D cockpit and the 2D cockpit. The gauges will be added separetly. (

And an example of an instrument. (

Next update is coming when the panel is textured.

1A Stoff!

Maybe this ( is interesting for you.

Wow this thing is really slick!

Awesome, I'm a casual FS2004 player and look forward to this one. Is the flight model and controls as detailed as the 3d model?

10-04-2005, 09:13 PM
Man, this really makes me miss the Air Warrior series - most notably AW3. Excellent work. I remember seeing a super high poly B-17 for FS2004 awhile back, are you the same guy?

10-04-2005, 09:31 PM
love the detail on that tiny panel. 10/10.

Thanks for the link but I made over 500 photos of a Me109 from an aviation museum here in Hannover. I could take a seat inside the cockpit several times.
Here are some examples: ( ( ( ( (

I hope so :) . Currently we are using a simple flightmodel. There are some other more important things to do before we finalize the flightsettings. But we try a very realistic flightmodel.

Alright. But today I don't like the textures anymore. When I start to complete the B-17 the model gets new textures. But before I finish the B-17 I still have another aircraft. Especially interesting for trekkies :) .

Nono, I was talking about this:

I was just wondering if you were the same guy that made that and turns out you are :wise:

OK, the panel is done.
Click ( for bigger resolution.

Next I start the reflex vizor.
