I have had a dream for a long time now Iím sure most of you share of creating a CG company that makes Beautiful Films and Games that bring a new level of emersion. I have almost no experience in 3d modeling or animating (besides maybe poser, swift 3d, and World craft) so I had very little to show when starting my projects. When people did try to help they were not very reliable as I can understand since there was no income and There are lots of projects that already have teams but want more people or even groups that pay well. So for now I have set aside that really badly planned approach and Iím just going to start with a more solid base so if nothing else I can rely on myself. I got my hands on a copy of Cinema 4d and I downloaded some tutorials so I could teach myself how to use the program.
My game plan is to figure out how to model, practice a bunch, and then work on learning to animate. It sounds so easy in my head.

I figured out some simple stuff like how to make objects and render them. I sort of get the materials thing too but Ill need some work.

Did a tutorial that used boole objects and hyper nurbs. Iím kind of understanding how to make a model.

I made some cool Ball things with the boole and extruded splines. (
I also tried to make a face using boole and hyper nurbs and distorting some primitives but it didnít work out how I envisioned it (

I figured out how to blow things up so Iíve been plowing everything up. (

I did try one more model using mostly nurbs, Itís a cool robot ( ( ) but now that Iíve figured out how to really work with polygons Iím going to try to lean more that way.
It seems like itís easier to make more detailed models that way.

^The eye isnít made in c4d, thatís actually my eye distorted in Photoshop, I thought it looked kind of like an egg so I made some sperm in C4D)
By the way, this might sound like a dumb question to most of you but how do I make it so these links show the actual images in the forum, I tried using html and it just showed me the html when I preview.

So here is my putting everything together for now
its kind of a cool little guy, Iím trying to decide if I want to make the rest of him... I think Iím just going to make another face... I don't think I'm ready to do an entire body.

This is my latest try at a cool face...
Once again I lose motivation at the body. Partly because I havenít tried a body and I don't want to mess up the cool face. I think what Iím going to do is try to make a pretty good base body Ii can use and distort to make future characters. That way if I don't feel like it I don't have to spend a lot of time making the body every time and when I do make a new body Iíll have the experience.

good base but you really should look at some anatomy references, buy a book or just look at some of the samples at

Thanks for the website; now that I look at it I guess it does look more like a comic body. Iím also having trouble with the hand so that website will help with that too
I haven't done much since the last post but here is where it is now.

hereís the latest tell me what you guys think.

I think the first guy Iím going to make out of this is going to be sort of like the guy from splinter cell or something to that nature so I can make a cool animation for him easily.
