using another models bounding box to scale

say i have an object and i want to change its size, say i want it the same size as another object, can i for example use the bounding box of an object that is the size i want and make the old object the same size as it-

for example i have a tea pot say its size is
x 378
y 556
z 213

say i want it to be 256 squared, i could make a square exactly 256x256 and say to the tea pot scale to the bounding box of that square and bamm it rescales itself to the square making itself 256x256.

only you can do that in wings 3d and i wondered if you could do the same in 3d studio.

see here

Tools | Scale to Saved Bounding Box

also can you do move to saved bounding box as well.
