Yet I don't have g2 therefore it would like to ask some questions to owners.

1. Is there G2 thing like Area Light Shadows into Gaffer?

2. What is Light Groups?

3. What is Rim Lighting Strength?

4. What is Transparency Tools: Zero Attributes of Backside Polys
and Set Refraction Index of Backside Polys ?

1 G2 has excellent area lights
2 you can group lights to affect your surfaces independantly
3 Rim lighting is a seperate backlight control
4 Zero A & Refr Index are for glass - no longer a need to create inside polys for glass

Are G2 area lights a separate light type, or is it something that you do to a regular area light? I've not had much success with them, and I want to make sure that I'm tweaking the right thing.

I dont understand one thing - this feature works with the standard lightwave area light or this is independent features like gaffers area light?

3, 4 - thats the goods :)

g2 takes over lightwaves area lights and eliminates need for shading noise reduction
