Latest Update: Modeling: empire state building more work (

09 September 2005, 09:21 AM (

just a rough starting point, I always have ideas get going on these projects but then get busy and never finish, maybe this time, fingers crossed.

Ok, want to build a scene with the feeling of a shot of the lost city of atlantis - but not, maybe in another thousand years our era will be a lost world to the evolved race living on earth, maybe the discovery of the century will be the lost city of new york....

still early days but a city from our time shown as it may look submerged and lost in time with plants growing on the building and fish swiming along the streets, discovered and lit with submersables and lighting rigs..

sounds like a gooer just hope I have the time..

have re-organised the theme slightly will focus on two of the main buildings in new york, the empire state v's the chrysler building and the title will be last man standing in honour of the battle to be the talest building, the two buildings still standing tall at the bottom of a future ocean..

just started adding some more detail to the faces of the building, gives it more scale need to do loads more before it becomes the final building.

As ever nice to see your work in progress mate. Buildings and architecture are so your strong points and it's nice to see you capitalising on that. I like the dramatic "street level" shot, looking up, you could do a lot with that with layers of sediment and sand sitting half way up the side of the building, and some nice underbelly shots of the fish and submersibles... (would be interesting to see how fish etc have evolved over the millenia too.... nice octopus shot...) or how about a sunken treasure treasure chest with some bubbles coming out it.... :scream: LOL
but seriously, it's looking very good and I can't wait to see the progress. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do well.
