Oj, kako si AIR, moram tu negjde nac tvoj thread da vidim kako ide...
With this new CG Challenge starting, I thought i might try it out, you know, I have nothing to lose. I was too late for Master & Servant, so I didn't even bother applying, but with this one I'm on time. Just entered yesterday, saw the news on the main page. I have to work on a few concept sketches today, and will be uploading those as soon as I have time. I have an idea forming, now I just have to let it develop.
BTW I saw that you were noticed at the last Challenge, congrats man. Good to see some Croatian talent being recognized here. :)

Just a quick head model, done in 3D Studio Max. Now just to transfer it to Zbrush2 for some detailing :).

A body model. I wanted to do the body and the head separate since I knew it would take me a while to make the head. I'm one of those people that change a concept while it's 90% done :).
So now i just have to weld them together then ship it of to Zbrush2.

Yes, nebez, i agrree with your comments :)
But bear in mind that I made the model only so I could have something to shape in Zbrush. I hate ZB's zspheres, so I make mock-ups in 3D Max. So yes, I will adjust the model with more than details in mind. For instance, to say the breasts turned out a bit big is putting it mildly, so I'll reshape them a bit in ZB.
And for techniques, I used box modeling for the body, and edge-extrude for the head. Quite basic stuff, nothing special.

This is the whole mock-up model, now with the head welded. Now it's of to ZB for adjusting and detailing. I need to fix the shoulders, hips, breasts... well, it's why they call 'em mock-up models, right? :)

This is the close-up of the model. You can see that I tried to use the mental ray SSS Fast Skin Shader. I was tweaking the controls (all 3 million of them :)) last night, and now I've given up. To hell with it, I'll use textures for the skin anyway, so it doesn't matter.
And just FYI, the model will be clothed with clothfx, I'm not going for nudity. Now i just have to make some concept art so people can understand what I'm going for exactly. The only problem is I draw like a 10 year-old. I'll do the concept in MAX, screw it. :)

whoa...that is ur basic mesh to export...it would be an understatement to say...u r overdoing it...what is thw polycount now...my exports are a 1000 polys tops, this has like what 15 000...i know what u mean by tweaking, but id seriously suggest a smaller polycount, it gives a far greater control...dont get me wrong im sre u know what u r doing, these are just as they say it my two cents, im sure this chick will be hot when tweaked...sooo updateee:thumbsup:

Well nebez, when I say tweak, I mean tweak :). I like doing my models in 3d Max. You see, I started using ZB just recently, so I haven't incorporated it into my workflow fully yet. And I don't intend too really, I'm content with modelling in Max. I find it powerfull enough for my needs, and I have enough experience to do it with speed. I use ZB for detailing things like wrinkles, scars, defining muscle tone etc., and to tweak proportions like making the but smaller, lips tighter and so on. I use it to suplement my modeling in Max, not to completely take it over. Heck, it's the only reason why I bought my Graphire3...
Yes, I have been called a dinosaur for not using ZB for every facet of modelling thinkable :). And I say "if it ain't broken, don't fix it". :D
Also I think people that rely too much on ZB tend to get caried away a bit. But in the end, the only thing that matters is the quality of the end result and what you feel comfortable working with. Me, I'm a 3d MAX guy all the way...:)
