Thanks for the support everyone, it's a real pleasure to start this new contest with such talented guys and girls !

Ok, an idea came to my mind yesterday but i 'm not still sure about it... here it is :

Title : The Zoo Became Nuts !

In a big town (Paris... ?), a guards too nice with the animals decide one day to liberate animals, then it's a crazy pursuit that happen in the streets between the animals and the police, the guards who want to have some fun, climb an ostrich and run like a cowboy !
The animals that are escaping are strong and rapid animals like elephant, ostrich, monkeys, giraffe... they destroy almost everything they touch in the run... the people are scared and run away... it's anarchy !

I must think about alot of things cuz it can be a really hard and long work...and as i'm going to have a lot of work these will be hot !

It means i should model a street, some people running ( not detailed, just some clothes and colors variations...) and the animals ( the most detailed characters) .

I have a little idea of the composition but not so much, i'd go also for a cartoony style to make human expression on the animals like scaring, happiness etc ...

Just a little idea for the moment :)

09 September 2005, 11:41 AM
For sure, with cartoonish style, that's more fast to do and certainly possible in 3 months...

I remember style used in the previous challenge and I can easily imagine the result adapted to this new topic.
That will be very fun and very simpatetic ! I love this idea with the street's madness... very good Seb... you must do that plizzzzzzzzzzz

09 September 2005, 12:14 PM
Thanks Lemog, glad you like the idea !

I just saw now that the movie Madagascar by Dreamworks is based on this idea... some animals leaving a zoo... well... i don't seen this movie and i don't know if there's such scene... someone knows ?

Anyway, i'm studying now the design and the composition, i'm wondering if i'm gonna go to cartoony...i'm afraid to loose the heavy sensation and the realism of the scene...i'm gonna see what's better...

I'm looking for animals pictures cuz i'm not really a specialist to draw them now :)

cya and thanx for the input!

09 September 2005, 09:51 AM
:scream: hahaha, man your idea rocks !
climb an ostrich and run like a cowboy !
wow impressive situuation !

09 September 2005, 01:35 PM
Thanks Julien, i hope i could build a scene like this in 3 months

I didn't started the concept sketch yet but i'm collecting a lot of pictures of city streets animals etc... I thinking mainly about composition of the picture right now...

I found a cool pic of a nyc street and i think i'm going with something like that for the environnement... same camera position also... maybe at a higher level

Sketch will come soon as long as my ideas get clear !
