Latest Update: Modeling: babay with body (

09 September 2005, 08:40 AM
my first thoughts were: what is spactacular to me? dealing with humat nature and emotions.
the most emotional and spactacular moments in my life were the births of my three suns. :scream:
What could be more spactacular then creat a new life?
in my image i think, i will not show the birth, but the relationsship between the new born baby and his mother, who still can´t believe this human miracle. :)
i hope, i can catch this unbelievable moment... ;)

good luck to all entrants. have fun... :buttrock:

09 September 2005, 01:12 PM
Excellent idea! :scream:

Really, I think it's no problem here - we are thinking in the same lines for the concepts but the motives are rather different... since I'm going with an unborn. Good luck - it will be intereseting to see what you make of this

09 September 2005, 05:49 AM (

this time i do not make a sketch.
i build the two chars of my final image out of simple blocks and posed them.
so that helped me a lot, to find the right pose and camera angle. i also have the chance to make quick changes.

09 September 2005, 05:54 AM (

here i show you some of the composition lines. i want to show the relationship between the mother and the baby, so the lines leads to the point of view.
i used to have a very harmonic comp.

09 September 2005, 05:59 AM
here are some other camera view to test the right angle... ( ( ( ( (

here are some other camera view to test the right angle... (

This one is my favorite angle.... If the baby's head was leaning a little more towards the back it would be just perfect...

09 September 2005, 01:14 AM
Nice to see you entered the challenge.:D
After I shed a tear after reading your idea, truley there is nothing more spectacular then creating life.Your idea is conrete so go with it strong. the 2nd, 3rd and 4th images down are my favorite camera angles. Each show and broaden your strength of the idea. So good luck on picking a camera.

09 September 2005, 06:13 AM
thx for the replies
i think, first i will model the mother and then the child. hope after i modeled the chars and posed them, i will choose the right camera angle. ;)

09 September 2005, 06:33 AM (

i start modeling the mother. here is the first image of her head. i just begin to model out the basic strukture, tryed to get the right edge loops.

09 September 2005, 06:35 AM (

here is the smooth version of the wire. i still have to tweek mutch polys...

09 September 2005, 06:44 AM
Hi mac_andre, I really enjoyed the sense of style and humour you portrayed in the M+S and I envy your spectacular concept a great deal... It's a big task to portray the connection you speak of and one that I'll enjoy following you on... Good Luck!

09 September 2005, 12:03 PM
@ DaddyMac : thx man. i really had fun with your m+s challange. :) great to see you here again. this time i will try it more realistic... :)

09 September 2005, 12:12 PM (

still a lot work to do. but it is getting closer...

09 September 2005, 06:53 AM (

just working a little bit on the head. the next step is to add the ears. in the moment i´am not really happy with the head, it seems to me that there is something wrong. i think i get it, when i add the ears and the body.

09 September 2005, 06:54 AM (

an other pic of the head :-)

09 September 2005, 06:56 AM (

09 September 2005, 07:02 AM
Very nice modeling you did there, good job

09 September 2005, 09:23 AM
@ ar LutiK: thx . ;)
i´am not really satisfied with the polygonmesh on the uperhead, so i have to optimise this. :)

09 September 2005, 11:37 AM (

just add the ears and rebuild the uperhead. looking better now...

09 September 2005, 11:41 AM (

an other view...

09 September 2005, 07:54 AM (

i was searching for a body reference. i found it at for free.
i mirrowed it and now i will use it for reference.
i finde that the proportions work well.

09 September 2005, 08:10 AM
a blessing concept! truly nice!and the head looks superb!. hmm is it me or do the head slightly resemble ... hmm i dunno for sure! ;)
great work no crits! cheers man!

09 September 2005, 08:45 AM
Phantastisches und großartiges Konzept  Kolossal... I like that kind of idea... sensitive... and the more spectacular... the life ! That remember me too some very impressive moment of life... I follow you André at 100%... for sure.
No prob for your modeling, clear and beautiful... I'm waiting continuation, and best wishes for you :buttrock:

09 September 2005, 08:51 AM
thx yunisirees :) the head is a mix of angelina jolie and a bit of my mind. :D now i work a bit on the body. ( i think, i look will watch some spider now ;) )

09 September 2005, 08:57 AM (

i am working on the body. the first step i make is to block out the main bodylines. then i add details with the knife tool.

09 September 2005, 10:32 AM
ahaa so the resemblance was correct!:) ... cool i never could make my models look like some body ! :).

09 September 2005, 10:43 AM
@ Lemog:  hope you can look at my threat sometimes. i was looking at yours ( very good concept by the way), but there a so many replies there, so i don´t post until now. it just looking like a spam thread too me :D ;)

@ yunisirees: yes, it is very hard to let your model look like someone. that why i do not want to look here like angelina ;)

09 September 2005, 10:51 AM (

just to show my littel progress of the torso. pure me, because i only have the front-view of this women, so the rest is imagination...

09 September 2005, 10:56 AM
hallo andrea, nice modling! the charcter just looks like Angelina Jolie:thumbsup: good luck~

09 September 2005, 11:21 AM
Nothing to crit to this body for the moment... lines appears very clean and perfect...

09 September 2005, 11:42 AM
but there a so many replies there, so i don´t post until now. it just looking like a spam thread too me :D ;)

Sorry mate, I just see your answer... I can reassure you... I'm only here cause I like to follow good work, and I found your idea very sweet... that change a lot of all war-destruction-robot-and other end of earth.
I have enough the TV news all the days, which pass us always spectacular events, war and destruction, and you subject offer us a better and beautiful vision of the spectacular.
Well... I stop to "spam" here... and I look at what will occur :wavey:

09 September 2005, 11:51 AM
@ lemog: no spam, just a very good answer  . i think the same. i´am tired of these things. it is better to point out the beaty then the beast. ;)

09 September 2005, 12:32 PM
Hello mac_andre, your model looks really really good. Nothing to point for now!

09 September 2005, 12:38 PM
thx claudio  .

09 September 2005, 12:40 PM (

last bodyupdate for today. :-)

09 September 2005, 01:15 PM
Nice work. The modeling is clear, and your character is really close to the photograph. Great talent.

09 September 2005, 03:29 PM
It is looking spectacular so far! ;-) Joking aside, the modeling is coming along really well. I think you have chosen a very challenging idea. Good luck. cheers. Hooked up on thread..

09 September 2005, 08:19 PM
Wire much appreciate  Body forms are perfect... maybe to much ? no crit in that sentence... just the dream part :)

09 September 2005, 08:25 PM
yeah, this model is very cool, clean modelling man...i donno why,but the thumbnail reminded me of Krishnamorti's character on machineflesh! but the big version tells another story!
keep it up man, kepp this style of modelling, the less the ploys, the cleaner the model, and the better result!:D

09 September 2005, 08:31 PM
of course i think that ears are a little bit too far from rest of the face,

09 September 2005, 08:33 PM
Hi Mac,

"yiek" looks a bit different today ;) :scream:Hahaha

Hey Friend! nice to meet you in the Challenge.

This concept is incredible. (and... i knew what´s behind this ;) ) and that´s makes it even more incredible!!

One of my Favorites... that´s 4 sure!

Best luck & great skills
Cheers  Alex

09 September 2005, 09:05 PM
She looks great so far Mac, if I may, I'd suggest giving her face a slightly 'fuller' look as if she's still carrying extra weight from pregnancy, it will add to her motherly look me thinks...

09 September 2005, 06:34 AM
thanks guys for the replies  .

all the critics you made are right... i know her boobs are very big, may a will make them a little smaller, but first i have to see the rest of the body. then i deside what direction i will go.
i think i will make the face a little fuller, like daddymack said. i want to point out the the female adtributes so the pelvis und the boobs will underline that.
@ vampeta: i don´t forget our little projekt. yiek is on my hard disk waiting for the final step. ;)

09 September 2005, 07:53 AM
In my opinion, brest is very beautiful like that, not too big, especially which it acts of a woman who has just been confined recently, and who nourish her baby. I find that completely normal. It wouldn't be astonishing either that are larger too, or more falling, that would not be dreadful, it's simply the real life, and all the woman on earth are not Angelina Jolie, not ?

09 September 2005, 10:56 AM (

here is a little update. add the legs. now i begin to shape the back of her. still some work to do...

09 September 2005, 11:46 AM
HI Mac_andre..i like your idea and your modelling tecniques:thumbsup: good luck!

09 September 2005, 02:37 PM
Very nice modeling so far! I agree with lemog in that perhaps the boobs should be lowered a bit - also you might loosen her stomach a bit, making it bigger and a bit sloppy - it's common that the stomach doesn't go flat immidately after giving birth.
Overall I think it's a very natural body you got going here - splendid:thumbsup:

09 September 2005, 11:05 PM
I like the body of your character, looks quite naturally. I my opinion the bonestructure of the head is a little bit distinctive or just too masculine?
Weichere Gesichtszüge würden vielleicht besser zur Situation passen.
Anyway it's a very empathetic and personal concept and I'm looking forward to your updates.

09 September 2005, 12:49 PM
Hi mac_andre. I like the proportion and the lips :bounce:, but the lower jaw, as i can see, you can push back that section.

Good luck mac_andre.
xbo :scream:

09 September 2005, 01:20 PM
good modeling and good proportions :), i like the idea, simple and effective. Good luck

09 September 2005, 01:29 PM
Excellent modeling so far!

It's hard to tell on the more recent renders but on some of your older posts she appears to have quite a heavy set jaw, perhaps it just needs to go back a bit...

The concept is good, but spectacular in a very subtle way (if that's possible). It'll be interesting to see how you fare with the judges against the more in your face, all out action that most people are going for.

Good luck with it.

09 September 2005, 01:52 PM (

i have a lot work to do in the moment, so i have not mutch time to work on my model. i was working on the head a bit to fix the wrong propotions.
still a bit to do.
i although had worked on the body. i will post an update of that tomorrow.

thx for the good comments :-)

09 September 2005, 12:12 AM
Damn....:D .Angelina looks so crits at all..hehe..its perfect

09 September 2005, 07:03 PM
Hey Andre,

You have a very nice idea:thumbsup: , I think you will have to capture the mothers face to get the spectacular point of view across. The head model is looking great:thumbsup: you are a great modeler , but to me when looking at the side view the mouth and chin could be moved back some and in the front view the jaw is a little to square . This is just my opinion and I look forward to where you go with this.

10 October 2005, 04:11 PM
Hi André,
I'm watching you now! ;)
The head looks great so far.
When I remember right the mouth/chin area IS that much in front if this going to be angelina.
Top modeling as always!
Hope you find enough time to finish!

10 October 2005, 05:16 AM
No update for the moment... ? very sad mate, I hope your job can give you soon more spare time to continue... keep it up André  :bounce:

10 October 2005, 05:39 AM
thx lemong.
in the moment i have so mutch do... :banghead: but i will try to end this projekt. an update is coming in the next week, i think... :hmm: ;)

11 November 2005, 09:22 AM (

i haven´t mutch time to work on this projekt. so i´am happy that i could add the arms and feets and here is my result. :-)

11 November 2005, 12:27 PM
I'm so happy to see restarting this project... she's awesome André... I love her form...

11 November 2005, 12:47 PM
thx for the comments. :applause:
yes, for my it is very difficult to get the right form of the forehead and the chin. it alway looks like a male... hope i can fix that...

11 November 2005, 01:31 PM (

i worked on the forhead and chin to make her more feminine...

11 November 2005, 01:38 PM
Ok for the chin... a little bit square, it's only really visible in front view, in the other, that's very good for me... but for the forehead... to prob if she have hairs I mean...

11 November 2005, 02:38 PM
@ lemong: you are right. i think the hair will fix it all ;) but first i will make the clothes...

11 November 2005, 09:19 AM (

now i´am going to texture my char. first i try to make a clean uv-map...

11 November 2005, 10:06 AM
Very nice to see you got the time for some updates! Excellent modeling and I think you fixed the problems with the head:thumbsup: ...nice hair will do the rest. Your wireframes and uv-maps are something to learn from, very clean work. Congrats!:applause:

11 November 2005, 11:26 AM
Very good Job, Keep it up Mate:thumbsup:

11 November 2005, 03:54 PM
Hi André- Nice progress!

11 November 2005, 01:01 PM (

thx for the positve replies here :-)...
here is just a little update. i paint the texture of the women. it is very simple. i just paint the mouth, the eye-brows and some colors and mixed it up with some procedural shaders... still there are no spectular or bumpmap.
now i will add the clothes and then i will see what parts have to be paint with more details... ;-)

11 November 2005, 10:22 AM (

here is a detail of the head. there is still no specular and bumpmap...

11 November 2005, 10:31 AM (

just the wire of the head...

11 November 2005, 12:06 PM (

this is just an other camera angle to show my skinshader. it is a mix of a hand painted texture and procedural-shaders. i uses sss an global illumination...

11 November 2005, 07:50 PM
WOW! Andre, another fine mesh from your mind mate and thanks for the topology shot;)

Stunning so far... Keep rokkin :buttrock:

11 November 2005, 04:41 AM
You shader seem very sweet for her... that's agree me... clean work

(I must acknowledge to waiting impatiently her hairs)

11 November 2005, 11:31 AM
@ DaddyMack: thx  . i allways try to have a very clean topology. that way this step somestimes took very long. ;)

@ lemong: i work one the hair, hope i can make it.

12 December 2005, 11:56 AM (

it was a lang time ago, when i posted my last wip. now the contest ist running to the end... hope that i can finish this...
