09 September 2005, 03:01 AM
Umm... Actually it has no story that much... It's just a girl spray painting her mech with some vinyl for the upcoming tournament...:)
09 September 2005, 04:50 AM
09 September 2005, 06:37 AM

interesting mechanism ! :)
Good luck !
09 September 2005, 07:59 PM
Hi demn_lougan..... mmmmmm may i say something?. Please chage that pipe. Your model looks totaly COOL to have some pipe like that. Just only a Tube?. Look your surfaces they are more organic and innovative.
Now a question. Are you using MaYa?. And are you using MaYa MR?. The reflections looks like a MaYa Software.
09 September 2005, 07:50 AM
Well... The tube is still temporary... Cuz I was thinking how the pilot would be able to reach the pedal if the tube's blocking the legs...
I'm using 3dsmax 7 btw... As soon as 3dsmax 8 will be released, i'm gonna work on the girl next...
09 September 2005, 04:47 AM
It took me an hour and 9 minutes to render this file... I even got late on our first class...
I might add some stuffs on the bluish metal before I start with the arms...
09 September 2005, 08:33 AM
cant say any thing about ur modelling ...
gr8 man ... :)
09 September 2005, 03:28 AM
I assembled the parts... and here's how it would look like... I also changed the color to black...
Um... does anyone know where i can find a good basis for it's vinyl?
09 September 2005, 03:45 AM
Cool design. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out!
09 September 2005, 04:49 AM

09 September 2005, 05:15 AM

09 September 2005, 05:36 AM
Perhaps if you use a "car paint" shader (red?) will be more cool...
09 September 2005, 05:39 AM

10 October 2005, 04:25 AM
I have 2 choices of lighting... Either morning or sunset... In sunset, details will be emphasized by the contrasted light...
10 October 2005, 04:32 AM
I have 2 choices of lighting... Either morning or sunset... In morning, details will be seen clearly and the whole image will have a soft look.
10 October 2005, 05:36 AM
Yea I think that morning lighting looks great
10 October 2005, 05:05 AM
I edited the girl... I don't know if it looks better or worse...

Stunning job, She look like exactly one of the Final Fantasy 7 Advent children character.
Really impressive :applause: Congratulations.
10 October 2005, 09:10 AM
Nice! I love your idea and that mech design is just superb. It doesnt really strike me as spectacular though - more like 'impressive'!
Good modeling - ill be keeping me eye on this one
10 October 2005, 12:02 PM
10 October 2005, 01:29 PM
yess everything is coming out as expected - superb that is ! very cool progress mate!
10 October 2005, 05:03 AM
Wow man that's a really pretty girl! Can see that you enjoy mecha modelling too, nice work all around! I think one of the girl's face could use a little bit mroe red, but just a bit.
10 October 2005, 06:03 AM
I like your design a machine. good luck:thumbsup:
10 October 2005, 01:22 PM

10 October 2005, 03:38 PM
that's looking great dude.. I especially like the texturing on the beanie. Good work!
10 October 2005, 04:47 AM
...I'm still in standby, waiting for the max8... But here's a very little update... Light changed; added newspapers; a sample biped on where the girl will stand up...
10 October 2005, 08:02 AM
I have to agree with andy H.
This does seem very impressiive, but it also seems very run-of-the mill for the character.
Your modeling is wonderful, even inspirational, but I'm not moved by the story behind it.
I'm not sure how you'd spice it up. Maybe the girl could be doing something Spectacular with the mech, doing some sort of crazy acrobatics on the highway, racng against a friend, or from the site of the gattling gun... a battle scene.
10 October 2005, 06:05 AM
I was just afraid that it may not look realistic already if I add more things..... I'll try to think of a way that'll make it look more "spectacular"...
11 November 2005, 08:44 AM
I never thought that max 8 would come out WAY too long... I'm not gonna wait anymore... I'll just remove the grass and make the temporary hair as my final hair...
Btw, I thought if the girl is just standing there and spray painting, it'll be lame... (mentioned by 2) so i'll instead add another character (the owner) seeing his mech being used by the girl (running some of the boosters and the camouflage device)
I've started with the guy, but I forgot to brought a shot of him...
11 November 2005, 09:27 AM
Hey it looks pretty cool dude.
11 November 2005, 02:51 PM
like it was mentionned before, this is a spectacular contest. you need something spectacular to happen with this. I think evan just slapping a quick highway and some motion blur would be much more spectacular than this (not that this isnt nice or anything ...). I'd say the key for this to have better chances is drama. you need to think of something dramatic to happen with it. the camera angle is also very impartant here for those things.
besides that ya got really good modeling. I'd work on the light next. it really takes away from the quality of everything else in your latest images.
11 November 2005, 06:23 PM
great work (girl model is beautiful)... very nice composition:thumbsup:
11 November 2005, 08:01 AM
Eek! He looks scary!!! It's not yet finished btw, i'm modelling next are his hair and cap...
11 November 2005, 08:06 AM
He still looks like the girl... darn it...
Oh, yeah... I'll add most of the effects in it's boosters running, and i'll work on the camera viewing and lighting... Thanks for the suggestions.
Are there any news about the release of max 8?
11 November 2005, 02:34 PM
Great design!is it mental ray?
11 November 2005, 05:40 AM
Hair and cap added... Although both aren't final...
I'm working on the lighting, but it's so hard 'cuz i have to wait for so many minutes just to look at the result...
11 November 2005, 05:16 PM
excellent work! love the mech design, i'm subscribing to this thread....ibang lebel ka! may website ka ba? gusto sana makita iba mo pang gawa para ma-inspire ako:bowdown:
11 November 2005, 08:57 AM
I made it in a sunset time... Although the bg pic was just borrowed, i'll have to picture one from the back of our house...
The camera isn't final, it makes the ground look empty...
11 November 2005, 08:27 AM
Effects for this image... Not final...
11 November 2005, 08:31 AM
The boy... I worked on his body (simple) and his celphone (final)
11 November 2005, 08:57 AM
Our computer can't render this scene at a size of more than approx. 1500... I had it in 65+% but it suddenly closed... Darn... I guess I'll be going back to my project...
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YAH!!!:bounce:
12 December 2005, 04:52 PM
Sweet I love how this is looking dude, nice style and good use of the renderer, I find the scene above too bright though, hides some of the detail
