nice idea, to make it a bit more "fun" it would be cool if there was a school bus filled with screeming children in there :p

c ya

09-07-2005, 06:21 AM
Nice start at modeling. Make sure to have smaller bits as well and a great deal of dust.

Might also be interesting to add lightning bouncing between each tornado and within the storm clouds.

09-07-2005, 08:37 AM
Nice start on the tornado. Waiting for next update.

09-07-2005, 01:50 PM
that is a great Start point....Well done:thumbsup:

09-07-2005, 01:54 PM
i think you should add more motion blur....
but the shape is really good, one can see the destructive force very well!!

09-07-2005, 04:46 PM
thanks for all replies guys ..

i will be testing this model .. :)

another cam angle and more motion blur..

lets see what more i got.. ;)

09-07-2005, 04:47 PM (

hope u like it :)

waiting for comments..

09-07-2005, 05:21 PM
i liked the twisty look of the last one better,it was just amazing...maybe it is because of POV.
but the whole thing has growth:thumbsup: keep it up

09-07-2005, 07:33 PM
hey pooya.. thanks man.. the last image u mean the first one or this last one ? hehe

c ya !

09-07-2005, 07:50 PM
Looks Better now
keep going buddy, i wiil be waching your entry:thumbsup:

09-07-2005, 10:21 PM
how can i say it......mmmmmmmmm !spectacular!.... a tornado thats a really spectacular and terrific scene....good idea:buttrock:

09-08-2005, 05:19 AM
Looking good. The top part of the latest tornado needs to be thicker and have some scattering of debris as well.

Try a POV with the tornado about to impact the camera, looking up at the violent twister.

09-08-2005, 05:22 AM
So far so wonderful. Tornadoes, well there isn't something you see every day.

09-08-2005, 05:30 AM
so far so good. will be tricky to get the tornados just right. will be a great image if you do. good luck!

09-08-2005, 01:09 PM
Hi Rafa,

Good luck on challenge

I like your idea.

To de olho :bounce:

09-08-2005, 03:48 PM
Your tornado looks already good

I`m waiting for more :bounce:

09-08-2005, 04:04 PM
The tornadoes definately have to look just right to pull this one off...

However the work you have done so far is right on the mark.

09-08-2005, 06:24 PM
Could you give us a brief description on how you made this with particles?

09-08-2005, 06:31 PM
Thats really impressive!

09-08-2005, 06:38 PM
I think your concept is a bit "basic" but really effective :)
Nice start and good luck for the next

09-08-2005, 06:42 PM
Hello Rafael, very interesting. How do you planing to do the tornados? Just particles?

Good luck.

09-08-2005, 06:43 PM
Have you ever read the mag 3d world? :P

09-08-2005, 06:52 PM
It's a very impressive concept ! The final picture will be very spectacular !!!
But they're lots of particules in these twisters, caution for the render time !

Good luck !

09-09-2005, 11:40 AM
i liked the twisty look of the last one better,it was just amazing...maybe it is because of POV.
but the whole thing has growth:thumbsup: keep it up

sorry for the late respond...i meant the first one

09-09-2005, 11:59 AM
Hi Rafael !

The rapid sketch you made is really powerful and i can't wait to see this image in 3d ! Anyway, the start of the tornado is great !

I agree with other comments that you should put other elements in the scene to make movement and agressive sensation ...

Anyway, good luck for the next i'm looking forward

09-09-2005, 10:30 PM
Hi Rafael,
the beginning of the modelling is very good, keep going...

Best Luck for u Buddy, cya!

09-14-2005, 06:04 PM
Interesting concept. Let's see it in 3d

09-14-2005, 06:19 PM
If the child was black or arabish it'd be righter.

Never you'll see a super GI killing a US child. (New orleans is out of US, isn't it?)

anyway, i like your concept!

keep it up!

09-14-2005, 07:11 PM
I liked more the first Sketch.

But this is interesting too. Remember a Simpson's episode. hehehe

09-14-2005, 07:30 PM
Wow... it's hard to find words to comment on the child and soldier picture. It is probablly the most emotionally powerfull image i have seen... ever. The girl looks just like my baby sister.

I would say go with that one, the picture just deserves your attention.

09-14-2005, 07:51 PM
This is the best one I've seen you come up with. Run with it. (

Here i am again hehe i realize that my idea was not so good so i think for another one hehe..

A children in the war.. =)

lets se.. thanks for all.. c ya !

09-14-2005, 08:04 PM
wow man.. thanksss for all for the attention.. :)

ghZaaaRK, ye.. i think a a arabish girl will be better.. but i dont know how a arabish girl looks like.. can anyone tell me if is just like it ?

anyway.. i will start modeling a little girl.. the clothes and skin will tell what this girl is..

thankss for all.. c ya !! =)

09-14-2005, 10:24 PM
I liked all of the concepts, I will wait, to comment on specifically, for the time being, I am accompanying closely. This very good one!

09-15-2005, 01:11 AM (

Hope u like it.. ;)

09-15-2005, 02:52 PM

Good luck for you man.

09-15-2005, 04:59 PM
Very nice modeling start and a really strong concept! This can become a heartbreaking picture - good luck

09-15-2005, 05:02 PM
Great start on the girl model. What are you using for modeling?

09-15-2005, 05:48 PM (

09-15-2005, 11:25 PM
_very good sketch applause:applause:

09-16-2005, 02:18 AM (

Well here i am one more time.. ;)

hope u like it.

09-16-2005, 05:30 AM
the modelling looks clean. the texturing is good. :)
imo you use to mutch poly at the nose and the mouth.
but what i have to say is that she do not look like a young girl. the proportions are no right. at your sketch she defenetly look like a girl, hope you can change that. :)

09-16-2005, 07:01 AM
The nose is too long on your model, you may want to fix that! That is why she doesn't look like she is a little girl! you may want to move up the mouth a little closer to the nose, too when doing this, Looking good so far, Will check back, lata!

09-16-2005, 07:04 AM
hey comming along really nicely!... the textureing is nicely done too... but i think the mouth is too much outward imo. But rather then that i think ur off to a gr8 start... keep goin

09-16-2005, 10:27 AM
I go with you with this idea mate !

The sketch is really cool but it miss something...maybe a background with some movements...maybe explosions, mans running... something really spectacular to make the contrast with the foreground.... i think it could bring an excellent scene !

Anyway, great start on the modeling !

Good luck :)

09-16-2005, 10:33 AM
I like the clean concept as it is right now, it's like the time stood still in that particular moment,

but then again, maybe some blur people in the background could help. :)
Just an idea.

Powerfull Sketch anyway my friend!

09-16-2005, 11:31 AM
The model is good, but i have one crit. It's the lips, they do seem like there is some kind of thick and glossy film on them, like glue or jello or something.

But the texturing is excelent all-round.

09-16-2005, 04:08 PM
Hi Gra7!! this texture is beautyful!! Nice model!

09-16-2005, 05:28 PM (

testing. . .

09-16-2005, 05:30 PM
Hi.. thanks for all the replies..

for the background i was thinking put some blur models in back.. thanks.. :)

I dont know if i fix what u all say to me.. if not.. please help me.. ;)

hope u like it.. c ya !

09-16-2005, 05:31 PM
wonderfull skin!!! i like your job!!

09-16-2005, 05:31 PM

09-16-2005, 05:41 PM

09-16-2005, 07:07 PM
thanks lau , ro and taba.. nice u like it.. ;)

09-16-2005, 07:32 PM
the texture is so strong and nice , but I think the head model has alittle problem on the jaw .
try to fix it :scream:

09-16-2005, 07:44 PM
good texture and scattering!

E isso aee mano!

09-16-2005, 09:26 PM

09-17-2005, 01:16 AM

More more .. i think i fix the mouth man..

im using mental ray SSS fast skin.. thanks all.. ;)

c ya !

09-17-2005, 02:34 AM
Hi, Rafa!

Great start, dude. I liked everything. It´s getting great.

The concept and the sketch is amazing. A really powerfull image and I think you have to finish anyway, but I have a question. Is it SPECTACULAR? I don´t know if someone talked about before, that is the reazon of the question. Good luck for you!

09-17-2005, 02:39 AM
hey mauro.. nice to have u here man.. i really dont know if this is spectacular but in my point of view maybe a girl puting a flower in a soldier gun should be spectacular for me..

well everyone have your point.. hope it works hehe..

thanks brother.. add me if u could..

c ya ;)

09-17-2005, 02:43 AM
I still think you need to make changes in the face, because of the fact you have aged the girl a little more than the concept you have drawn, but it is up to you, holla!

09-17-2005, 02:48 AM
wow man.. thanksss for all for the attention.. :)

ghZaaaRK, ye.. i think a a arabish girl will be better.. but i dont know how a arabish girl looks like.. can anyone tell me if is just like it ?

anyway.. i will start modeling a little girl.. the clothes and skin will tell what this girl is..

thankss for all.. c ya !! =)

Hey man.. i dont know if u saw this.. this is how i want to look like.. ;)

i think is close. hehe any suggestion i will make the changes.. :)

thanks man..

09-17-2005, 01:51 PM
very nice work here !

09-18-2005, 12:45 AM
Hmm, I been studying the model for like the pas half hour or so, and I think that the nose may still be a little long and think the width of the cranium maybe a little skinny, It is hard to tell, from the view that you have it in but I think it is the cranium more than anything, I am not to sure about the neck, maybe too long? If I were you, I would try to find some reference on a more specific age of a child that you are trying model, then go from there. I had noticed earlier that in the sketch that you made the little girl looks like 2-4 year old! I hope this helps, great texturing and modelin' so far! good luck to ya! :D

Alberto Raposo
09-18-2005, 03:15 AM
The little girl in fron of the gun was a good insight.Very impressive! Good look, compatriot!

09-18-2005, 04:24 PM
hi gra7 .... the head looks cool!waiting for the hair man! :)

09-18-2005, 04:25 PM
does our concept have to be a 2d sketch or can we make it a 3d still as our concept?

09-20-2005, 09:21 PM (

Well man.. everyone that knows me know that i always change my mind uehuehe..
im sooo indecisive. hehe
another idea.. a car passing in the red sign and crashing in a thin man and nothing happens..

maybe more fun and spectacular.. ;)

hope u like it and hope i make all this time ueheuhe..

c ya !

09-20-2005, 10:55 PM
cool idea, this happend in a videoclip of Uncle - Rabbit in your headlights. Check it out, if you can't find it i can provide you with a screencap of that part.. very powerfull song and a real nice videoclip! and the scene where the car hits the man, and the man is solid and the car crashes = very cool :)

09-20-2005, 10:59 PM
:argh:
this is a good concept too, but I liked also the last one.
It's your decision  you can change your concept many times until decembre :p

hope you will finish the last piece too anytime.

09-21-2005, 12:12 AM
I think your last concept was way better than this new one...
but you are the one who has to be please, so I wish you good luck
with this new idea.

09-21-2005, 05:31 AM
hi my friend!
so a new concept eh! heheh that happans to me too man! about the two concepts hmm they both are good but the previouse one had some kind of untold story and uniqueness!

cheers man!

09-21-2005, 05:51 AM
heuawheuwhauea :)
You are the most undecided guy that i know!!:scream:
Anyway, i loved the new idea.
Hugs Buddy:beer:

09-21-2005, 04:26 PM
Hey mate, all the stuff U do here is realy cool, but there just too much "tornados" over this challenge.

Good luck.

09-21-2005, 06:21 PM
hey man. my firs idea to this challenge was something like this one, but i think that your concept is better:buttrock:

09-21-2005, 07:13 PM
Awesome idea Rafael! You could make a seriously spectacular image with this concept... Check out the movie 'constantine' if you haven't already... there is a scene that is quite similar to this concept and it's really stunning;) Good luck!

09-21-2005, 09:22 PM
Hi Rafa !
Your scene is very early, I detected some problems on texture that can be corrected easily in the photohop.

09-21-2005, 11:31 PM
thanks all mans.. tornados.. oh yeh uheuhe im just like it..
i will begin the modeling.. never stop the music.. ;)

c ya !

09-22-2005, 12:26 PM
NO! I like the childrem concept! Do not change!

Aí matava a pau! Melhor, a imagem em como foto de uma pagina principal de um jornal famoso.

Não muda não!! nem que vc mude mas depois termine, mas FAÇA ATÉ O FIM a ideia da menina!

09-24-2005, 05:28 PM (

Modeling of the car that will crash the guy..

c ya !

09-24-2005, 06:20 PM (

more power on the guy.. :)
just missing the motor and more noise

hhee cya

09-24-2005, 07:44 PM
:scream::D Another fine start mate... I hope you run with this concept... It kicks!

09-24-2005, 08:21 PM
thanks man.. i dont want to sketch but the my idea is like this..

a transit guard stop the traffic for a cute girl cross.... then this truck crash him and nothing happens.. (to the guard. hehe)

well.. lets see.. :)

hope u like it!

09-25-2005, 08:48 AM
hey man! thats a very cool crashed car! love the crunched metal look!
cheers man!

09-25-2005, 08:59 AM
that's great,just try to stick to it:thumbsup:

09-25-2005, 09:26 AM
Great concept man, and the car is very well modelled. Maybe some engine and stuff could be added as u said but it looks very promising.:bounce:
GO on and have fun:thumbsup:

09-25-2005, 09:46 AM
looks great, i might would pivot the front wheels inwards, because it seems to be wrapping around somthing by the way you have it munched. typically with a crash of that sort physics would pull the front wheels together. It is still veryy verry impressive! Good luck.

09-25-2005, 10:02 AM
yea I wanna see more of this latest idea... pretty cool ideas and conceptwork
all around

09-25-2005, 11:43 AM
Nice concept, and nice car modeling ! Concerning your idea, don't hesitate to add lots of elements, the more objects as possible : why not TVs, dishes, bed, other animals, like cats, dogs or hens. That should be very spectacular.

So, courage !:bounce:

09-26-2005, 10:42 PM (

More modeling.. =)
missing the motor.. i will do this.. and a new sketch oh my idea.. ;)

thanks all.. c ya !

09-26-2005, 11:07 PM
That's nice but I think when a car crashes it doesn't breaks, It would be deforms in noisy ways.
Maybe your value of noise is too much or It has a small frequency? Anyway attractive. Good luck!

09-27-2005, 01:14 AM

09-27-2005, 02:21 AM
Subscribed and watching :applause:

09-27-2005, 11:08 PM (

Rafael awesom work so far, your modeling is amazing this is gonna look very nice, hope you'll have lots of stuff scattering all over the place we'll help feel the crash.

hi Gra7,
nice job, this car beat gave "total loss"! hehehe

09-30-2005, 03:47 AM
Hi, your last idea is very funny, I was thinking a big man, with a nervous face but the thin man is awsome too. Great modeling, maybe you can put a man trowing by the window, or a baby, lol, that would be not so funny hehe. Goos work.:buttrock:

09-30-2005, 09:24 AM
yeah...very cool stuff there...i like it

09-30-2005, 04:17 PM
Cool car crash, mate. i just dunno about the number of polygonsin the model. Looks like there could be more of them. Or it's just shader, or lightning. There no suchimpression from the post with unshaded car.

I REPEAT : why does it look like you've downloaded it from here (pic2, "free elfHeads") - ( ?

10-07-2005, 10:31 PM
OMG,. you got soo many very good concepts, but theres only room for one in the final image.

the one with the girl and the soldier is very strong and a good issue in theese war times.
the one with the car crashing is a capture of the moment image, would make a great scene as well.
You've got some great modeling going on in the last concept, but the idea is not as strong as the other ones.
tornado is great as well

hard so say wich one to go with.....

10-07-2005, 10:59 PM

hi Rafa,

the modelling of the body is good, the proportions are all correct ones, it would be interesting you to soften some parts of the model.

10-17-2005, 06:46 PM
Nice work, i liked of the model. You could put a bit more volume on the shoulders, no? Looks to me a little strang. I loved the shoes. Good work, keep it up, i'm waiting to more updates.

10-17-2005, 07:00 PM
Modeling looks great. Be careful using incredibly familiar references - i.e. the harry potter elf, dolby. I could be wrong, but I'd like to see a more original looking character - it all depends on how prominent the character is and how he is lighted and textured. Anyway, I think you are doing a great modeling job and I can't wait to see how it progresses.

10-17-2005, 07:11 PM

I think the head is fantastic!!

my 2c, the arms need some work, there seems to be no shoulder muscles on the poor guy. Give him more muscle definition for the shoulder area. I think the foreams should be a bit thinner too, just a suggestion.

More.. waiting for comments..

If we asked you to send this model to an administrator or a moderator to check for something, would you allow it? This model bears an uncanny resemblance to a model that is available for free download on the web. Just to set everyones minds at ease, it may be best to post some proof that they are indeed different models :)

Hi Rafa,
did I like shoes, is the modelling of Goblin it's ok, I am not sure, but, does it seem that you used a displacement map in the face?

10-19-2005, 04:52 PM
hey man ...nice progress....i think that the clothes looks great.

10-20-2005, 09:44 PM
I think Leigh is referring to a model by Julian Johnson Mortimer. Am I right, Leigh? I could be wrong. Can't seem to remember Julian's website.

10-21-2005, 12:02 AM
yea man.. i use references for the imagecube.. the elfs heads..

10-21-2005, 12:21 AM (

Maybe better.. showing the muscles.. missing some displacement..

c ya!

10-21-2005, 12:53 AM

c ya !

10-21-2005, 01:16 AM
Cool modeling in all models since the first concept sketch ... hehe

About the idea, I prefer the concept of the CAR CRASH or the GIRL with the SOLDIER ... these two is much more spetacular than globins in a tree ... hehe .. But it´s in only in my vision ... :scream:

10-21-2005, 02:44 AM
yeah, I agree with braz, the girl was the best ideia I guess....the modeling of this creature is great but the other ideia is best!
Anyway, if you keep this one, I think you could work more on the body, the face is much better than the body!
Keep it up man, all the ideas were great, and great modeling till now, you´re improving fast!
best luck!

10-21-2005, 01:48 PM
very cool the details in the skin. that model is progressing very well:thumbsup:
