Thanks Nubian. All of a sudden I feel a little overwhelmed and not sure if I know exactly what I signed up for, lol. J/K I'm sure I'll do ok. I'll post back with my WIP shots as soon as I get a concept going.

Heres a quick Concept Sketch

Opps, I see that when I submited my entry it erased my description of what I'm trying to achieve.

My concept is of a future moon that has been populated by humans. The view is to be seen from a long time deserted earth that is slowely starting to flourish with foilage and animals. I was also thiking of having a confuse deer staring at the moon and it's metropolis.

Great idea with the moon colony! I think it'd be great to see a close up over the colony, so that we would be able to see what it looked like. I'll be watching for more!

How about changing foreground from woods to destroyed city consumed by foliage? You coud put some nice skeletons of building reaching for the sky. And on the sreet of this deserted city you could put a guy in the space suit staring onto the moon, just like astronauts years before was gazing from a mon onto the earth :] Thou idea of a deer (but oon a city street :P ) was pretty cool too

I agree with OmeN2501. Some more hints that the earth is destroyed will definitely add some more flare. Awesome concept though, good luck!

beelow : Thanks You your welcome to drop by anytime. Im always in need of feedback.

Nathaniel West : Thanks Nathaniel, I'll be the first to admit that I never worked on anything in such detail before, this is the first piece that I will spend more then a week on. LOL I'll bring in all the detail I can push out of mysel. ATM I'm studying the moon surface itself. I wan't it real but at the same time I want it to be hand painted. No filters no effects. I don;t want it to look like it was rendered, as some filters and layer effets tend to do.

NOOB! : Much abliged Bro Thank You and get on MSN, I need to ask you a question.

OmeN2501 : Hey Marek, a destroyed city was actually my first idea. Not sure if any of you seen Mad Max 3 and that destroyed city they flew over at the end, but that was my initial plan. Then I got to thinking and wondered if to much technology on earth would take away from the emotion I want to bring out from the moon colony. At the same time it may just be my own phobia, lol. I'm good at painting nature, not so good at modern technology. Once I get a semi realistic moon going I'll definitely play around with the idea. Thank you for your feedback.

aoisabaku : Thanks for the input. I guess you and Marek do have a good point. I'm still skeptical about a destroyed city, but nature and foilage itself won't be enough to get the viewver to realize the earth has been long abandoned.

Here is what I have after 1 hour. I'm concetrating on the moon at the moment and things are going very slow. My working resolution is at 4800 X 3200 which takes a toll on my computer :)Time to get some more ram.

Anyhow, I'll be sure to post back soon with more updates and somethingmore interesting.

PS: Yes, I know that I goofed the date on this image I accidently put in 04 instead of 05.

Why wont u base your moon pic ona a real photos of moon?

I decided to make a bigger version of the moon. I created some new textures off of images of the original moon and so far I'm at this effect. Still lots of work to do. But at least now it does resemble the moon somewhat.

looking great, you just need to spherize that moon in photoshop.
