09-07-2005, 06:29 AM
here is my first sketch, I think it would spectacular for a person to care a load on their head and still stay on their toes, most of the time I feel like this. I have these problems in my life that I won't let go of, poeple that have done a jigga wrong. Still to this day I have problems with just letting things go. I find it kind of spectacular, that I have my head together with all this mess that I carry with me, pray for me, holla!
09-07-2005, 06:35 AM
thanx, dunkelgold, good luck to ya too!
yeah pushav, I have to let my negro nature loose, hey it may not be accepted but, people goin' have to accept me as is, but I am glad you said that. It puts a smile on my face good luck to ya pushav, will see you around, holla!
09-07-2005, 06:44 AM

09-07-2005, 06:52 AM
the idea behind it is very intriguing. I'm liking the sketch so far and the cloud formation looks very godly like setting. I know its the first sketch. It'll be interesting how you develop the visual on that idea. Keep it up. I'll be back for more homez.
killer afro by the way bro :argh:
peacz from NY :buttrock:
09-07-2005, 07:20 AM
It sounds like a very interesting concept. I'm kinda looking out for stuff that isn't spectacular in just a sense of scale and action (big explosions and the like), and this is ceratinly a very different take on the theme...
It'll be interesting to see how you'll develop it and nail the 'spectacular'... good luck!
Very interesting sketch:thumbsup: I like it! Good luck to you.
09-07-2005, 08:32 AM
Hey man, you seem down in the dumps... Some pretty strong emotions you got there. Translate it into something spectacular and you might just come out with something none of us can think of. I like your concept. It is spectacular how people can handle "impossible" problems. It's gonna be pretty hard to translate it in an image though. But you probably can... Keep it up.
Subscribing so I can wish you luck
09-07-2005, 10:50 AM
Welcome man.Good luck and...ENJOY:bounce:

Just have a whole lot of contrast in your pics, looking good.

09-07-2005, 03:01 PM

09-07-2005, 04:22 PM
Best of luck to you. I noticed you are in Vegas. Do you know Sheff Abella? He is an artist and instructor in your area.
Good luck
09-07-2005, 04:51 PM
I still thinking on this one I may try some different angles, and I got this other one that I am doing that may seem a little interesting too as well. I am bout to go look up some other paintings right now try to get some more inspiration to what colour pallete I am going to use, so I won't screw up the mood.
xric7-Thanx, xric7, how you doin' on yours I'll check soon!
shake- thanx Shake still trying to mess with compo and give more life and work on the pose of the guy.
arc80- thanx, yeah I don't know how well I am going to Illustrate this, too. Lets hope that I pull it off. Yeah the fro, I am trying to find someone that can braid it, but its hard in Vegas to find someone that can do it. In tha STL, it was much easier, because of all sistaz in tha hood, see u soon.
duddlebug-thanx, I hope this will do it for ya!
ahbeejieh- thanx, I was puttin' a lot of thought into it, This was actually a sketch that I came up with a week before the contest, I was going to traditionally paint it. I wanted portray a person that stays angry at those people that have wronged him and just won't let go! But, the people that have wrong him are sleepin' easy and goin' on with their lives, because the world is not going to stop for one person that is angry. My inspiration was a Tyler Perry movie,(for that are religious you probably know who this is)! He talked about forgiveness in the end of his movie and it really touched me...*sob*because it reminded me of myself, I can go on forever about this so this is the cut off, but thanx!
Queensoul-thanx, good luck to ya!
Ranath- I will get there soon, thanx man!
Rebeccak- you gonna enter Receccak, but thanx, I am going to need it!
pushav- no doubt! they're gonna have to accept me as that cool cat! Glad you like the Concept!
NOOB!- Ain't that a bitch, that does look like me, lol! I don't put afro sheen In my hair it all naturaaal, lol. Thanx for the support NOob!
I will post some other sketches, lata!
09-07-2005, 04:54 PM
Yeah, I know sheff Abella! He is a teacher at my school, he is bomb ass, but he thinks he is mediocre, I should kick his ass, lol! I think he is going to enter the contest, He better!:D thanx!

09-08-2005, 10:54 AM
Hi beelow! Looks good :)
I just finished Terry Pratchetts "Thief of time" and the first picture reminds me in some weird way of the five horsemen (Yeah, there was 5 not 4 :) riding from the clouds to start the apocalypse. It's pretty far from what you were aiming but just wanted to say what I see in the picture :)
09-08-2005, 08:21 PM
Wow Beelow, very nice sketch :thumbsup: Reminds me of Terry Gilliam's "Lost in la mancha".
Keep it up
09-08-2005, 10:21 PM
Man, bryce... you better come through with this one, its starting to look fan-freakin-tastic. though i kinda liked it more when i thought it wan an old man.

09-09-2005, 12:59 PM

nice start,mate.good luck.
09-11-2005, 08:08 AM
one more unique idea on this contest:]
are you thinking to add some odd details to show that it's all in his head, not an old man carrying his whole family? i mean, that one could see the meaning of a picture without it's description?
09-11-2005, 10:27 AM
09-11-2005, 11:34 AM
Great concpet and I love your roughs... there's a wonderful, solid strength in that character's pose. Nicely visualized!
Keep it up... I'll check back with you later, dude.
09-11-2005, 02:43 PM

xric7- thanx, xric7! good luck to ya as well!:D
uiron- It won't be his family that is he is carrying, I will explain it later in the next post what is going on bear with me.

09-13-2005, 02:13 AM
The idea is becoming clearer now bro. Although i kinda dig those spirits that was behind him before. This one definately has a very strong expressive gesture and it'll be a good piece to show expressions too. i'll check for more progress bro!
peace homez
09-13-2005, 02:18 AM
Ducklator- thanx, good luck with your entry!
soriah- thanks, much appreciated!
Arc80- Oh, those where going to be people on his back, I still have to get back on that, thanx Arc80!
09-13-2005, 05:13 PM
Here, I am just trying to figur out the compo; I think I may need to fix it still. What do you guys think?
09-13-2005, 06:05 PM
Maybe if the leg on the left went left instead of right, it would look like he's bracing under a bigger weight.
Nice so far. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
09-13-2005, 06:16 PM
How's it coming with the concept man? I think your angle's cool enough. We'll be able to see how the character's takin the weight. I think your biggest problem will be what to actually put on his back. You know, how the stuff on his back's gonna symbolize the pain and sorrow that he got from the world... And if the symbolism you're gonna use will be interpreted the way you want your viewer to see it. This is a very deep concept and definitely a challenge to develop. Well, we all got plenty of time to work on stuff like this. Keep em comin.
09-13-2005, 07:36 PM
very cool perspective! IMO the anatomy look a bit weird.
09-13-2005, 11:02 PM
wow, the face looks really emotional :) you achieved a really heavy mood in combination with the angle.
great work :) will subscripe to this one and watch your progress
09-14-2005, 01:52 AM
What is going to be on the bed?
09-14-2005, 01:57 AM
pushav-All the people that have previously pissed me off, LOL!:D
Nah but 4real, I will put people up that everyone loves to hate, not necessarily hate but those people that we cannot stand and those that gives us problems!:wise:
09-14-2005, 02:03 AM
Please dont put your relative on the bed. Lol! Put like an old computer or even santa for not giving you what you wanted for one christmas.
09-14-2005, 02:14 AM
Nice face so far there! Render the heck out of it, I say!
09-14-2005, 02:39 AM
Hi there! I like your concept on this piece; and interesting and unique take on the theme. One question though; what is he carrying on his back? Also, you might wanna shift his right leg a little more to the left of the picture cuz that corner is looking a little empty. Keep it up!:buttrock:
09-14-2005, 05:06 AM
this is really good~i dig the angle the most, kick ass compo too~i can feel the energy and the strength of the guy via the expression~good job on that~also i pictured some picturesque clouds on the background.great work so far~
09-14-2005, 12:44 PM
looking forward 2 some really exciting stuff...keep it up
09-14-2005, 12:53 PM
Hey man! cool concept, very deep stuff, could be very interesting.
The compo looks great.
So is he climbing a mountain with that heavy load or something? it somehow looks like he's on top of a mountainpeak, didn't read your whole thread so...
Anyways keep it up man!
09-15-2005, 01:42 AM
ChrisThatGuy-I am not sure if want to do that. Because I have took reference shots of what I wanted, I saw that the leg was under him to catch the weight of the people. I want to make him look like le is climbing up a mountain! If I were to move that leg over to the left, It would look akward and he would not be able to brace himself in the climb. I still trying to figure out the compo as I go along, but thanks for lookin' out. I'll try it to see what it looks like, thanx!
ahbeejieh-My buddy just gave me an idea today! I am going to loose the bed and just stick with what I initially planned, I want to keep it a surprise, and let you guys give me feedback about what is to go on top of his back, thanx!
xric7- I'll fix it, thanx!
Llynna- thanx, glad you like!
Rebeccak- thanks for the support! I will do so!:D
wraithdt- I'll see what I can do! thanx!
shake (sh@ke)- thanks shake, I will keep up with yours most def!
Rudeone- You are on point, yeah it is a mountain and yeah he will be carrying a heavy load! That a relief! I will get on this!
I post something as soon as I can, holla!
09-15-2005, 07:27 AM
Hey dude, just notice something, you have nice stroke on the brush, but then you try to f it up with the outline, I dont't know much but I read that i s better to overlap, instead stroking
I'm practicing that and I think is working
in some parts you have this awsome stroke, and in some you have the comic book like outline, I like the first one,
I think it's going to snow here, finally,
09-15-2005, 07:36 AM
Excellent concept, you might want to give those people on his back a ghostly visage and maybe have him carrying a cross for the symbolic value.
09-16-2005, 04:56 AM
Korline- I am, not trying to do the comicbook outline thing, I am just painting straight in the program. I paint on my darks then bring out my lights, which I find is a cool technique! Right now, I am just trying to get my compo together and try to figure what poses I will do for the people that will be on his back! Thanks, I will try to get rid of the outlines, holla!
Steve Iacopetti- That sounds like a cool Idea, I will think about it! thanx!
09-16-2005, 09:22 AM
waaaa...sorry for getting here so late!
i love the style of painting!! cant wait for more cheers!:D
09-16-2005, 10:11 AM
really nice progress uīve got here so far .....
we need to C more !
p.s.: whatīs the meaning of holla ?
09-16-2005, 12:07 PM
Really looking good, the latest composition is dramatic, and makes a point of how small we are up to the baggage we carry. Your facial expression speaks volumes too, this piece makes the everyday trials of life seem really spectacular. Can't wait to see how it comes on with colour.
09-16-2005, 07:41 PM
calisto- thanks for your support, much appreciated!:D
comaone-Holla is slang for talk to u later! We say it in tha hood all the time. pick up a few rap cds, LOL and you be livin' ghetto fabulous, LOL!:D Thanx for the comment!
Zepyhri-Hell yeah, thanks, then I am mdoin' my job! thanx!
09-16-2005, 07:58 PM
Damn.. That looks heavy! Nice face expression, perspective is nice too..
The concept is great.. I can connect with it very much.
09-17-2005, 03:25 AM
Since I have finals I don't know when I will update so hopefully I will get somethin up by the weekend, but who knows, bt anyways, I will get back to this soon, thanks for the support!
FrozZT- thanks, that futher lets me know that I am doin' my job,LOL, holla!
09-17-2005, 03:54 AM
Hey beelow, this is looking good. The expression and the sense of weight is very strong.
09-17-2005, 08:32 AM
how about you change the angle, so that the dude would stand on a
narrow path sourrounded by a glowing pit of lava and in front of him
would be a mountain.
Then all the people on the bed would have som sort of insignias on them,
like on a shirt, a tattoo , an earring, etc. and on the mountain side there
would be other beds or sumthin, places mrked with flags or stone pillars
with insignias on them corresponding to those on the people.
then that dude would have to climb the mountain and take all the people
to their places and some of the people would cheer him on , some would
shout insults and some would just be enjoying the ride.
Ans still the dude would try his best but still the journey would be difficult
and some people would always fall from the bed into the lava...
maybe the dude stumbled once and the bed rocked too much, maybe the
wind caused the rocking... maybe someone on the bed threw a brick
at the dude and he shook the bed himself to get rid of the miscreant...
09-18-2005, 01:00 AM
zpapageo- thanx, glad that you like it, I wanted to get the motion of the guy more expressive, to give it a little more feelin' in to the piece!
Squibbit- I will think on that, nevermind let me try to incorporate some of those elements in my painting thanx, squib!:D
09-18-2005, 02:21 AM
just stop by to see what's new
09-19-2005, 08:41 PM

This is a nice start!
09-19-2005, 09:57 PM
I just realised you're doing a 3D entry as well Bryce! The sense of weight and the sheer effort of the character is looking great! Watch his balance though, he seems to be favouring the left side at the moment. Get some colour down! :)
09-21-2005, 02:19 AM
Hey guys, sorry for the delay, I am just doing finals this week and hopefully I will get back on these asap, More than likely thursday, I will have something by then, holla!

09-29-2005, 03:17 AM
His facial expression really helps convey the weight that he is carrying, a lot. Very nice job on that and the composition is working really well now. I'm yet to see what you're going to do with the background.
Screw the 3D entry and just go work on this one, hehehe (j/k). Will be back for more and stop being lazy :D :p
09-29-2005, 05:35 AM
hey man where youv'e been, start looking interesting,
cheers dude :applause:
09-30-2005, 01:51 PM
good luck bro...
10-01-2005, 04:47 PM
Hey man. Been busy with 3D? :) Cool concept on that category with the baby thing. By the way, have you seen Les Miserables with Liam Neeson? There's a part there where he carries this gurl on his back and scales this really high, 90 degree wall just to get over Paris. He was carrying a bag full of stuff too. They couldnt pass through the gate coz they were wanted by the authority.
I love how the wall acts as an obstacle between total damnation and a new life. And the dude conquered it with sheer determination mixed with brute strength. Just thought you'd get more ideas from it. Keep it up
10-01-2005, 07:53 PM
Looking good, nice expression. One thing - make the guy more underneath his burden, it looks like it's slipping off his back.
10-02-2005, 08:43 AM

10-03-2005, 06:57 PM
Cool concept and interesting layout/composition. I can't wait to see more!
10-03-2005, 07:31 PM
this is easier to type than to do but how about trying to make the people on the back represent different factors. (maybe with clothing facial feature or something ) just an idea to kick about
10-03-2005, 08:34 PM
nice idea about it... keep it up.... good luck:thumbsup:
10-04-2005, 08:22 PM
I am still not satisfied with the piece, with the poses I am now trying to figure out what I want to do, so hold your horses guys. I will be back, thanks for the support!

MY SPETACULAR!:D
10-06-2005, 10:01 PM
i'm a idiot...
10-07-2005, 03:12 AM
Nice facial expression!
10-07-2005, 03:18 AM
I think your piece had more power when you had the burden dominating the frame from above. Its a quandry because I like what youre doing with the additional characters, it just lost some steam in my opinion. Perhaps theres a way to work both in, but it doesnt seem easy.
Look's very promising! Just remember to cut back on the black when you'r coloring, use cold colors instead (like cold/dark blue).
Keep it up! :)
10-07-2005, 02:05 PM
like your latest update.
I saw the balance aspect was mention but I rather like the sence that he is struggling both under the weight and to keep balance. Think it makes the image more dynamic that way.
Youīre on the right track with this I think!
Hi beelow. HM! so far looks interesting. Plese keep posting updates.
I'll like to see more form your project.
10-09-2005, 07:45 PM
Glad to see some color! Is the character going to be balancing objects also or just people?
10-18-2005, 03:26 AM
Iwanted to finish this black and white first, and submit it as my line art but, I am anxious to upload what I am working on, I think that I am happy with what I got. I will eventually put some more people maybe, but that'll depend though. But here goes, I will try to have3 this image finished by next week, what ya think?
10-18-2005, 03:41 AM
You got some skills bud keep up the good work.
10-18-2005, 03:42 AM
Sorry guys, I haven't posted in a while but here it is the next step. I tried to get in as much as people have crit, and here goes.
xric7-thanx xric7 got it togther!
mr. thurner-thanx dude for stopping by! How are you doing on yours?
pushav-Yeah I got to boss it up with his facial expression,LOL! thanx pushav!:D
2tacos99cents-I think I pulled it together, now that I have reference to give me the right thing that I want, the lighting is not completely accurate but you get the idea I think, thanx dude.
am7-thanx dude, I think I will finish grey scale first then go with color, a technique that I learned.
Norberg-thanx norberg, I may have fixed the problem now. It took a while to figure it out, but I think I nailed it now!
Jose Pardo-Thanx man! people will be on his back as you see in my new update, sorry tooked the color back out, just want to finish the grey scale before I go with color. thanx again!
10-18-2005, 05:52 AM
looking really good beelow~the latest update rocks!keep it coming ya~:scream:
10-18-2005, 10:55 AM
I really like your idea! This's very interesting! But it seems to me that this construction is very unbalanced, and that it'll crash down now. Maybe add more characters in the background so as to create the impression of the mountain which stretch to the skies. But it's only my thought! Good luck! :)
10-18-2005, 12:53 PM
You've been busy! The ladies are looking good.
10-18-2005, 12:55 PM
Good luck, man:thumbsup: And how if you put more people, 7 or 9 more?hehe
10-18-2005, 01:12 PM
hey! I still relate strongly to this concept... And i think many others do too. Love the characters and the composition! Though i think it looks like it tilts a little bit backwards and to the left(from our viewpoint).. Maybe its becouse of his left(from our viewpoint) leg?
10-18-2005, 10:33 PM
i kind of agree, if it swept out a touch more it would add weight to his stance, but dayum, it's looking nice
10-19-2005, 04:56 AM
Wow, that's looking really rather cool. I like the concept a lot... Are you feeling particularly stressed these days? I like the composition and the angle, but with such a dramatic angle, it would be fitting to see more of the figures match that odd perspective. For example, we're looking up at them all, from a kind of "worm's eye view." Yet all of the faces are seen as if you're at eye level with them. Sure many of them are looking down at the viewer, but it might also be cool (or fitting) to have some of the faces also be a "worm's eye view," and undershot showing a lot of chin, as it were. True, it's a harder angle to draw, but once you chose the camera angle, you can't avoid it altogether...! :)
Anyhow, good luck with it!
10-19-2005, 05:11 PM
Thanks guys for the replies. I will make changes as needed!
sh@ke- thanx Micheal!
Atris-alright I'll see what I can do, I plan on putting more people on top of that mound of people that I have going on now. Thanx for stopping by how are you doing on your entry?
Jose Pardo-Thanx for the support Jose!
Gonzalo Golpe-Yes indeedly do, I will do so!:D
FrozZT- I don't know I think it seems to work here in this image, I looked in the reference that I have and buddy's leg seemed to do that. I think if I were to move the leg over to the left I would loose some expressiveness of the pose it may come off stiff. Let try to move the leg over to the left a bit and see what it looks like! thanx FrozZT!
spyroteknik- Like I was saying to frozZT I kinda like the off balance look. But let me go ahead and move this leg over to the left a bit!:D
walrus-Thanx walrus I did not even notice that I will make the necessary changes to to make it fitting as you have said thanx dude that helps a bunch!
10-20-2005, 09:51 AM
Very cool, this one is going to be good.
10-22-2005, 12:55 PM
And also i like the sahdowns and lights of the face of the guy in botton
10-22-2005, 10:25 PM
I will have something up either by tonite or tomorraz, i holla at ya lataz cg friends!:D
tAsty BITs-Thanx tasty! I plan on making it that!
maurodelia- thanx dude!
10-26-2005, 01:36 AM
Dude, this is SO COOL! I feel really stressed right now and I can relate to the picture in a big way. The picture is hopeful in that it portrays that one doesn't have to crumble under stress, but rather can muster all of ones strength and push forward despite the pressure. Wow, you have really captured something amazing here and it motivates me! Can't wait for more!
10-26-2005, 02:07 AM
awesome concept! looks pretty great so far, good luck
10-26-2005, 05:28 PM
great development! I see that u could really bring this pic to a very high level with different face expressions. I forgot to ask before, and didnt catch anywhere... is this just a tone scheme right now, or it will stay in black and white?
10-29-2005, 02:38 PM
I like this so far.:bounce:
YEA AHHH! anger ... stupid ppl get off me back. and get me my CAIN! :P
great job man i for one demand COLOR!
10-30-2005, 01:21 PM
It's looking good Bryce! Nice concept.
It would be really cool to see the clouds being more of the composition (reverse-mirror of the group of people)
11-01-2005, 09:53 AM
this gets better and better, raw power in it, looking great. not much to add, just keep on rocking!
11-02-2005, 05:46 AM
Here is a bit more that I have done to this, I will try to have the black and white done by the end of this week, as this piece is friggin complicated to figure out, but I will acomplish this, u can count on that! I will responded to everyone later, holla!
11-02-2005, 09:25 AM

11-02-2005, 01:47 PM
Hi! Wow! Now it's looking more impressive! The image turns out very, very interesting! And only one. The little girl on the left. I don't understand what she does there? In my view, there's no need for her presence there. Anyway, it's a very good job! I look forward to seeing a next stage! Good luck!
11-02-2005, 02:53 PM
Fantastic concept. It is REALLY spectacular. Waiting for progress...:hmm:

Aritz-I want to update one more greyscale then it is on to color! thanx man!
Sergey Banityuk-Thanks, yeah it is very complex indeed and difficult to solve, I am beating myself up about doing this, but for those prizes, gotta do something spectacular, right? Right!:D

11-05-2005, 08:16 AM
 Great work Beelow!!
Drawing the figure is one of the hardest things to do and you've really captured emotion in their faces and postures.
Looks like you've still got a lot to do in terms of colouring, but hey it's already looking truly spectacular....keep up the great work :bounce:
11-05-2005, 06:36 PM
I really wait for an up-date :wip:

11-12-2005, 03:17 PM
now I see, like it more and more, little different approach there, very modern,
I think it's a great piece, girl on the left needs a little work,
but overall it's very original, admire your style :buttrock: :buttrock:
I think this is what makes to stand out from the rest, not trying to follow the main stream
love it, very cool :applause: :applause:
(it's cold inher)
11-17-2005, 06:20 AM
Here the next step enjoy!

11-17-2005, 08:40 AM

11-17-2005, 03:05 PM
Squibbit-Yeah, thanks squib sorry bout that, just other going on.
11-17-2005, 03:13 PM
Bryce, time is getting short, lets see some color!
11-17-2005, 03:18 PM
Havenīt checked in for a while so it was a pleasant surprise to see how this developed.
I hope you know your colors as well as your shading. Itīs allready looking great, but in color it could be really, really spectacular.
11-17-2005, 04:09 PM
Hi, this is Voytek. Your idea is very good, I like the composition very much. I did very similar composition before., but with an angels. Good luck.
i have absolutly nothing to crit about your image..it looks great :buttrock: but try to post some stuff as coloring and final coloring too..cu z you can't go for ever with lineart...cheeres
11-17-2005, 07:40 PM
Good work! :)
I think that increasing the amount of people on his back really made the picture to look more spectacular. At first i didnt get it. I thought this was supposed to be some kinda of strong man feat, but now it just aint possible by normal human. So it works fine.
Where are them colors?! Uh oh.... hurry up!
hehe yea you slacker!
i just have one small crit for you... i know might be your intention so ill be very careful in the way i present this. so here goes. i know that most of the illustrated figures are not anatomically correct but the female figure that is sitting on top of the the guy that's laying down that the main character is holding up ... her foot seems to be elongated and doest quite fit in... it just looks out of place ... i suggest you either make her leg after the knee longer or shorten the upper part of the leg. either way it should get rid of that inconsistency.
aside that i cannot say that anything major jumps out at you. this image is splendid. keep rocking mate!
11-17-2005, 08:49 PM
This is looking really good. Looks like you're all ready to start coloring, or pretty soon anyhow. Only comment - and this may be intentional -si that the tower of people fades right into a gab between the clouds, so it's really hard to see where one ends and the other begins. Whiter clouds (i.e. no gap there) could help... or maybe it will all be clear once coloring is in.
Good luck and keep haing fun with it!
11-17-2005, 09:37 PM
I've been away for too long...sorry...
Here's one of my favourite pic. Just wondering if you really need colouring.
To me, it's strong enough.:thumbsup:
Keep it up
11-18-2005, 06:01 AM
Hi Bryce! Now I see why this little girl is there! :) She looks very expressive! And I'd be very interesting to hear about the characters! Are all these characters fictitious or real? I'm waiting for your colors! Good luck! :)
11-18-2005, 04:10 PM
Jose Pardo-Yes daddy,LOL:bowdown:
Norberg-Thanx, man, lets hope I can pull it off with the color added in.
Voytek-Cool, just checked out your thread you do great work, thanx for droppin' by much appreciated.
OrO-Yes I can:p thanx OrO!:)
Falcor_-LOL, yeah I better get on it! thanx dude!
Slav-I know u are but what am I:p Yeah I know probably almost all of the figures are not correct but I see what you mean, this image is pretty hard because I am trying to force the perspective, I don't know how many sketches I have done to correct these problems, but I will try to fix them if not I will just try to finish this and submit it within the next week! Thanx for that, again I will correct them!
walrus-Thanx walrus I will make the correction. not intentional!
spacesnail-Well, everyone seems to want it colored and also I can get some practice with color so will color it, but I see that it is strong already! thanx spacesnail!
Atris-Yeah, I had major beef with the first pose of the girl. She did not seem snobbish enough, so I went to find reference of an upset kid and I stumbled over a photograph of a kid doing the sticking out tongue thingy, that little brat! Yeah, I just kind of made reference to people in my life that are annoying and seem to just be there and bother me. Just leave me alone, Like mike...if you know what I mean!
11-18-2005, 05:26 PM
Hey Bryce. This is really getting impressive. I love the all of the poses. I cant wait to see some color.
11-18-2005, 08:05 PM
Yeah, me too! This is looking smashing! Colour man! I think you must be the most active participant of all here Bryce! :)
11-19-2005, 03:18 PM
zpapageo-Thanx man, Yeah I still have to correct some of them, but I am glad u like!
Poshspice-Thanx Posh, yes daddy 2, I will color.:p Yeah I guess so, I just want to get to know the other artists, and be a known force as well as great digital artists here. I hope you get to finish your entry, I still have plenty of work to do myself!
11-19-2005, 04:09 PM
Hey, I donīt reply to your spectacular yet. I must change it.
I like your work! Great style and characters you have there, but most fantastic is idea, really great! Keep working!
11-19-2005, 09:04 PM
Great composition, man, very thought-out  Amazing amount of details. Will you colour it? I like it the way it is now...
11-19-2005, 11:24 PM
Here I am just hinting My lights, right now, so I know where I want my focus to be! I'll submit something new tomorrow!
11-19-2005, 11:52 PM
Beelow - When I opened up this thread my jaw dropped. I had no idea that you were THIS GOOD at drawing! This is incredible work man. I loved the concept but I never expected such a strong execution. Great work.
11-20-2005, 12:12 AM
!Nice! Your figures have really taken form! The man on bottom has a great expression! It could have been real easy to have made him look like he's smiling/laughing, but you really get a good sense of the weight and and extreme strain on him. Lock in that lighting:thumbsup:, and good luck!
11-20-2005, 01:00 AM
Hey nice work on this painting. Great concept and composition. You really took on a monumental task with this painting, but I am sure that you are up to the task. Thanks for dropping by at my entry and giving me the good advise and encouragement. I am looking forward to seeing your finished entry!
11-20-2005, 04:47 AM
wow ! very cool dude! nice compostion , concept and shading! one thing I notice is color , now it' s look like duotone , maybe you can add more saturate color to it ! go go don't forget your super baby in 3d entry! hehehe:thumbsup::bounce:
11-20-2005, 06:40 AM
Great Concept. Very original. Keep up the good work
11-20-2005, 12:10 PM
Keep it up Bryce - this is really coming together. I just realised that I've been subconsciously inspired by the 'fro on your avatar :)
coooll..you are using that technique where you first paint the image in grayscale and then you overlay the colors..that's awesome..and the facial expressions..this is powerfull..good luck!:buttrock:
11-20-2005, 06:58 PM
hey mate that is soo cool, your a guy with allot of talent
11-20-2005, 07:31 PM
Looking at the picture again, I think the guy with the gun needs a bit more work. His arm isn't shaded too well and the gun doesn't look right. The face of the main characters looks excellent in particular.
11-21-2005, 12:36 AM
Here is some more work on the coloring, A little saturated for my taste. I will refine some more, thanx for the support!

I'm really feeling this, I can relate. The concept is great...excellent composition. My only crit would be to make certain you fade the people highest up in the clouds enough, otherwise good stuff.
Good luck.

Euphrosyne- Thanx! I would not have crit If I did not have a great painting to back it up, I guess! I hope that you make those changes that I have suggested! Good with your entry!

11-22-2005, 01:59 AM
Here is the next step just, doing as I go I guess, let me know what you think!
11-22-2005, 02:18 AM
well...i absolutely love the idea of this pic. the charcters are rendered nicely. one thing i don't think i like though is the clouds, they seem too blocky and tall, competing with the stack o' people, which should be the main focus.
same here..cloud issue..the rest is super cool :buttrock:
11-22-2005, 08:56 AM
Like the color you've made on the characters. Be careful to keep the action on characters so maybe less contrasted bg or maybe a little blur on it (to try).
11-22-2005, 10:07 PM
bakanekonei-Thanx, i will change out those clouds, I agree, did not like when I was doing them.
authentic-Alright I will try that as well! thanx dude!
11-23-2005, 08:45 AM
This totally reminds me of this Kevin Garnet commercial that nike made where he was walking down the street and people kept on jumping on his back. That commercial kicked major ass.

ahhh i remember seeing that advert, i just watched it again. Indeed the concept is similar but i really like the take on this one, i feel i can relate to it. I really look forward to seeing this progress... hmm, i think i subscribed to it already.. :)
11-23-2005, 09:35 PM
I think its great! Love the subtle colors u r using, and the contrast on the face of the first guy. I hope that everyone will be in this style. love it!
11-23-2005, 10:59 PM
Good progress, very interestingly turns out, it is possible to examine work very for a long time:thumbsup:
11-23-2005, 11:05 PM
Bro, this is coming out really bad arse   I really dig the colours and what you got going on background. Great job homez.

11-24-2005, 01:29 AM
fal$eProfit-Hahahahaha, I just want to tell you that I never seen the commercial, and people at school told me that, and I was like that hella sucks. One of my teachers told me, that but he told me that my entry was a totally different concept, then he said after that, "fuk nike". I am a big KG fan. i Love the Timberwolves. I wish they didn't trade stephan marbury, that suks, but thanx for the reminder.
TheCleaner-Thanx, the cleaner! I think that everyone can relate to this concept, that was the idea.
NinjaASSN-Yeah I will, I just working the tonals as I am going with the color, just making adjustments as I go along.
Nikolay-Yeah, my teachers do that here as well, alot of eye candy I bet!
Arc80-Thanx archie, I hope to finish by this week, why do I keep saying that, I never finish, I will stop saying that from now on!
11-24-2005, 03:03 AM
This is look good almost there
11-24-2005, 04:09 AM
your getting there, i gotta say this is difficult ,all these faces arrgh .
two things more tonal ranges for you skin and get some cloth references you could use less wrinkles
i'm now learning this stuff andeven though i'm getting better at painting from my head you can't beat references.
good luck beelow

11-27-2005, 05:28 PM
hey man, very cool update, :applause:
great coloring, very nice , very nice :buttrock:
I love the concept of this image. Great work so far.
My main comments would be the strength of the background (but that has already been mentioned), but also there seems to be a portion in the image that seems a little too much in shadow compared to the rest of the image. It is mainly in the bottom middle: part of the main character and the man on his shoulders. I find myself squinting at the image to make out the detail - but that could be just my bad eyes ;)
I like this image very much. Good luck for finishing in time!
11-28-2005, 03:45 AM
Hey man,I really like your concept ,it should be really spectacular.as I am still waiting for your Final Image, hope to see more detail ,hurry up!!:)
11-28-2005, 07:32 PM
Lot of work in that pic for sure. I read the comment about the Nike commercial but I've seen it and I still think youre image stands on its own. In all honesty I wouldnt have even thought of the similarities until it was mentioned... I still think its one of the most original pieces here. Looks like youre pacing yourself nicely. Just keep at it, its coming along great :applause: - Joel
11-28-2005, 09:13 PM

the1st_angel- thanks dude, I hope to get this finished in time I am kinda pushin it! I am starting to get tired of looking at this image, hahaha!
xric7- Thanx for the support!
calisto- Yeah you did, sorry to see drop in so late, but it is all good!

11-30-2005, 11:38 PM
hey your thread should be saying final colouring by now we only got like 5 days left
most of your characther should look more the one in at the bottom in terms of tone he really stands out you should also try not to acsentuate edges to much like that girls knee it makes it look to flattend with highlight going almost all around the shape
quick hurry man i want you to finish this, good luck
12-01-2005, 03:01 AM
each of ur updates shows alot of difference as well as imporvements, man this is good~please complete this asap:bounce:,the cock is ticking :scream:
12-01-2005, 05:29 AM
I love the expression. 10 points and a gold star for that alone :) You've got a great start on the dramatic lighting, how far up the pillar of people are you thinking about making it before things start to fade out? I'm a little perplexed by that one linear cloud formation, the one that looks like it might have been made by a passing jet. It goes right over the tower of people, and I'm not sure if the left side of it is supposed to be a continued pile of people that are just tilting back to the side, or if it is just the cloud.
Keep it up!
right on... just one quick note. just make sure to not fall into the same pit i did. my image ended up being to grey and colors where too dull so i had to redo a great deal of the image.
friendly heads up on that... well with that said its complete :buttrock: i love it. keep going man!
12-01-2005, 04:29 PM
if you can't stop don't stop beacause you've done a relly nice work
12-02-2005, 07:38 AM
Here is something new, I still have to fix some inconsistencies here and there and still try to paint out the grayscale while I simetaneously work in color, I still have to make changes, in some of the places where you guys and gals have commented on, approximately 4 days left I should be done on time good luck all.
12-02-2005, 09:17 AM
Hi I love your image ! idea is great !
but IMHO previous variant with darker clouds, is feels little bit more dramatic !
Good luck man !
12-02-2005, 09:30 AM
Bryce, That's so great, I like the concept a lot :)))
12-02-2005, 09:32 AM
Yep this getting better and better! I know itīs just a matter of taste but I really liked the grey sky you posted 21 september. I think the image is easier to read without a colorful bg.
Just make sure you finish this in time OK!
12-02-2005, 10:58 AM
You have to done this... ! Like I told you I really like the concept and everything come out perfectlu now ! Waiting for the final :wip:
12-02-2005, 06:34 PM
