Hi all

hmmm... just thought of an idea:).

A tree spider leaping upon a hummingbird in mid flight while it raining heavily but the sun still shines... kinda like a macro shot!

wonder if it will be spectacular.!!

09-06-2005, 12:23 PM
Hi Hamid - good to see you in!

Actually I'm a bit on the same route conceptwise ... going very small. I think your idea could turn out very well - sketches please :)

hmm ... had some time so since never drawn a spider heheh ... thought i'll model a spider(poecilotheria regalis) from some cylinders and spheres . And just posed it around to get it look like its leaping on something.

just did this concept scene with low poly stuff to get the angle and the poses.

09-08-2005, 08:59 AM
interssant one. Good composition.

09-08-2005, 09:03 AM
My God, that is really spectacular yunisirees, I love the colors, the movement, the dynamics, the pov and the sense of faked realism, it's really really good... if you had presented it as a final image, you will have my vote for sure.
I wonder what you'll do next!

09-08-2005, 09:04 AM
Looking forward to updates. Very neat idea and holds potential to look really, really good..

09-08-2005, 09:07 AM
Nice work and nice idea, it's really a good spectacular.. keep it up :)

Good luck

09-08-2005, 09:09 AM
umm here is a thought that has been nagging.. what if i substitute the bird with micro flying robot since they do exist even now so the spider mistakes it for a prey an leaps.. guys and gals what do u think! or should i stick to the current one?:)

authentic .. thanks:)

claudio_jordao .. thanks ! i will for sure ... maybe ill change some small stuff! :scream:

spikey.. sure ill update and thanks.:)

09-08-2005, 09:19 AM
nice work so far. maybe u otta stick to this original one and leave the robotic idea behind. its looking good so far

09-08-2005, 09:23 AM
i like the composition a lot, I shall keep my eye on this one!

09-08-2005, 09:25 AM
Stick with the current one. It rocks.

Have you thought about a web in the background? They always look wicked particluarly if sparkling with mornig dew, and it'll give the spider a platformt o have lept from.

Great concept, good luck with it.

09-08-2005, 09:37 AM
wow that is a gr8 looking concept sketch man!! i like it... and yeah i can see if u finish it with it its gonna b one spectacular image!! best of luck mate

09-08-2005, 09:40 AM
Cool concept indeed.

09-08-2005, 09:41 AM
Yet terribly beautiful... great concept sketch for a great idea

09-08-2005, 10:13 AM
Great idea, awesome concept, great composition!

Looking forward to see next updates, good work so far

09-08-2005, 10:18 AM
Nice concept. Maybe have some of the spiders web in the background. And perhaps add some webbing that the spider is leaping/swinging with. Don't forget that even with a still shot its likely that the hummingbird's wings will be blurred and showing motion.

09-08-2005, 10:30 AM
I think the concept is lovely and your first sketch is great! I think you should keep the hummingbird since that will be much stronger and unique than a robot. I'm so looking forward to see what you make of this!
Impressive start

http://features.cgsociety.org/challenge/entries/11/8098/8098_1126177368_medium.jpg (http://features.cgsociety.org/challenge/entries/11/8098/8098_1126177368_large.jpg)

hi ... in the previouse sketch the some parts of the spider was missing so added that and slight tried a different pose to get it look like its leaping.

09-08-2005, 11:15 AM
WOW thanks guys and gals!

shabriri : thank you man, i will.

anim_ziggy : thanks ur welcome!

Swamps: yeah i will. as for the web this particular spider is called an "indian ornatmental or so" which is actauly the largest tree spider (tarantula) but i dont know if it spins a web anyways what the heck ill try it anyway :) ... thanks for the idea.

overcontrast : thanks ! i ll try to finish this time :)

Mr Micro26 : thanks mate!

Lemog : thank you heheh yup its terrible :scream: ... i mean i dont like spiders that much eeee!!

collings : thanks ill try updating soon... modeling is next!

Nichod : yup i will ... thanks!

Gunilla : yup a bird it is ! oh no have to model so many feathers yeep!:D . thank you.

09-08-2005, 11:16 AM
Excellent concept you have here. I really hope you make that spider looks nasty and grim

This could turn out really good.

09-08-2005, 11:34 AM
i think you are already finished. :) not? ok, some more little tweeking. i like proportions of the animals very mutch... good work.

09-08-2005, 11:44 AM
thats pretty good, i even feel sad for the poor birdy. good luck man

09-08-2005, 11:51 AM
Wow, what a great start to the challange. I love your animal modelsand thier poses, as well as the dynamic camera angle. It all comes together to make a really exciting action shot. Best of luck, I can't wait to see it finished. Alexi.

09-08-2005, 12:22 PM
Wow this is incredible. :bounce:

I love your concept. Good luck.

09-08-2005, 02:29 PM
What a nice composition you have there. Interesting idea as well...

09-08-2005, 02:41 PM
i love this idea.. very natural and something truly spectacular.. looking forward to seeing some kewl models.

09-08-2005, 02:49 PM
wow! your scene is wonderfull

09-08-2005, 06:50 PM
Very nice concept! I kind of like that lowpoly sketch look :) I am sure, that final render will be so real and so spectacular.

Good luck!

09-08-2005, 08:26 PM
This is a great concept. Giant killer comando spiders!

09-08-2005, 08:37 PM
nice concept yunisirees ;) though i have an idea for a little change in the spiders pose it's jsut that i think if u put it's 2 front legs up it might give more of an effect that it is trying to catch the bird at the moment it sorta just looks like it's flying :P thuogh that's just what i think good luck with the competition and im gonna keep an eye on this thread ;) .

09-08-2005, 11:21 PM
Kid Mesh : yeah ill try to make it look like a spider ! and thanks

mac_andre : heheh if i cant finish the final i cn always post the sketch as final ;).

archerx : yeah but will the spider actually catch the bird ;).

3d_paradox : thanks .. yeah still trying to pose the spider i'll take ur comment into account .

09-08-2005, 11:57 PM
Ok . so U`r going to use the 3D sketch . nice Idea . goodluck ...

09-09-2005, 12:59 AM
http://features.cgsociety.org/challenge/entries/11/8098/8098_1126227580_medium.jpg (http://features.cgsociety.org/challenge/entries/11/8098/8098_1126227580_large.jpg)

spider references from web. " indian ornamental" or " poecilotheria regalis" .. now for the bird.

09-09-2005, 10:11 AM
Hi, nice to see you again Hamid :)

I think the pose of the spider in the first picture was better. It was somehow more dynamic. But it is hard to say 'cause you make better lowpoly concept sketches than I make highpoly finals :D

But then again, I'm only a wannabee 3D-modeler :)

Idea is really good Spider hunting birds...dunno if they hunt birds in real life but atleast it is believable like the rules dictate :> and about your composition "keep things simple" is good motto and you have achieved this quite nicely :> No "fuss info" pics are teh bestest :D

09-09-2005, 10:32 AM
thanks Arto. thanks. man im not that good ...

yeah i see the pose problem have been posing around it much and still doing it ill do some more sketches and post with different poses to see which is best.:)

09-09-2005, 10:36 AM
eeeekkkk!!! a spider...

wellcome to the contest!! nice idea u got there! good luck!! thanx for stoppin by my thread!!

09-09-2005, 04:15 PM
Hey yunisirees,

This is a cool idea, I think your on the right track with this idea. Keep at it and good job so far.

09-09-2005, 05:36 PM
hey yunisirees!

This looks awsome - can't really stand spiders but I think that's a childhood thing :argh:

I love the idea, and it's coming on really well. Will keep an eye on your thread

09-09-2005, 05:49 PM
I cant wait to see what you do with this. I love up close pics like this.

good luck

09-09-2005, 06:48 PM
nice concept ....keep it up;)

09-09-2005, 07:22 PM
Oh my god , CoOl ReFrEnCe !! hope to luck in modeling and texturing too .:D

09-09-2005, 07:41 PM
I absolutely love the concept sketch you got. The light in there is so interesting and the DOF effect is very nice. It almost looks finished to me (I like things stylized)
the spider doesn' really look like he's in motion though instead just hanging in mid air, and it would be nice to see the wings blurred - BUT - it's a concept so I'm sure I'm only pointing out the obvious. the other thing is (and it's just a personal preference really) I would change the angle a bit. move the camera a bit to left so tey line up more and use a wider angle, so that there is a bit of overlap on the creatures but you'd see a bit more of an 'over the shoulder view' of the bird so that it would have a bit more of a scary emotional feel, (or even from behind the spider to get the predators look). anyways- just my $.02

09-10-2005, 12:08 AM
calisto : thanks .. sure anytime :)!

mmoir :thanks i will.

M477 : heheh so ull be avoiding the thread eh? ;) . thx

flrco : yeah i als dig macro shots heheh .thx

visualact.com : thanks.

Ramtin_moom : thanks.

Scorche : thanks . i yeah i see ur point will take it into account .. as i said before im still doing some playing around with the scene to get the look.anyways i think this is enough for a concept sketch heheh its modeling time now!

09-10-2005, 02:50 AM
Hi yunisirees,

WOW dude, that concept sketch is excellent! Are you going to be working the models into different layouts?

BTW, that story you posted about the octopus where you live was insane! I honestly couldnt blame the divers for passing out, Id be scared shitless if I saw something like that. Awesome story:)

Anyhow, your sketch is probably one of my favorites Ive seen so far. Great start and please keep the renders coming! - J

09-10-2005, 03:03 AM
thanks man! yeah kinda like that. yeah thats a cool story i heard from some divers 4 years or so back. renders? not even close yet:)

09-10-2005, 04:44 AM
very nice concept!!:bounce: but don't let the bird die!

09-10-2005, 11:41 AM
Looking great!

Your 3d concept sketches are so cool. gotta try that too

09-10-2005, 12:54 PM
F***ing cool concept man, I really dig it! Atmosphere and lighting in your concept sketch is already awesome, looking forward to see your updates.

good luck,

09-11-2005, 04:16 AM
xric7 : thanks man! who knows it may even escape ;)

coCoKNIght : thanks! sure it gives more freedom to try different pov's

Adriano_Zanetti : thanks ! will try to update soon.

09-11-2005, 05:59 AM
very cool shot. man if this looks good now i can't imaging the final image. good luck!

09-11-2005, 09:24 AM
cool idea. To add more life a furosity to the spider make it dive with its fangs and legs up like the classical spider ready to atack stance.

09-11-2005, 11:13 AM
Definately positioning myself front row in this thread, great concept and awesome sketch http://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon7.gifhttp://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon13.gif

09-11-2005, 11:47 AM
The greatest idea in my own opinion

09-11-2005, 02:36 PM
That´s cool!

One of the best Ideas i found in this Challenge so far!

G R E A T ! !

This looks ike a nice place to visit often ;)
Cheers  Alex

09-11-2005, 02:40 PM
This is definitely my favourite entry so far. I was thinking about creating some interesting natural phenomenon as well, but this is way more interesting. I can't wait to see the final image. Good luck.

09-11-2005, 03:00 PM
Hey my friend. I think it's the interested concept but the angle of camera can be improve, IMHO.

May be you can use the top angle (behide the spider). Like the spider drop itself from the web string very fast. And nearly catch the bird. (Is that big?) Well, since many years ago, I have dream about I was falling down the the earth. The feeling is like you play a machine in Disney land. It's excited!

Actaully I'm scared spiders. But may be my idea is benefit for you. ;-)

09-11-2005, 11:36 PM
Canche : will try to make it man! thanks.

ugnmoooo : sure i'll try that . thanks!

handlebar : thanks man!

Ptichat : thanks!
Alex : thanks man ... as often as u like :)!

profg : thanks! i like the natural phenomenon in these simle ways!

Jedt3D : thanks! yeah i get ur idea... right now i'll start modeling them first (right now have some character to make for a client ) and later i'll do some poving around ;).

09-12-2005, 12:12 AM
For another update... I can't wait to see ths spider model!

09-12-2005, 12:12 AM
Congratulations, your idea is very original.
The DOF is present and awesome.
The first composing, although the spider lost pieces, this spider position have a correct orientation.
See the line of the attack.

The last spider position is more free and flat, without depth.
I wait your 3d work.
See ya

09-12-2005, 12:40 AM
hi romelalgo yup i also found out after i posted ! but thought ill skip on posting concept sketches:)! but thanks for pointing out and help! but the real hard work is dead ahead not to mention fun! THANK YOU!

HammaJamma : yeah i will soon. thanks!

09-12-2005, 12:45 AM
Wow man.. Your sketches are so amazing!
I can`t wait to see more!!
Good luck..
I`ll keep an eye on you.. vbmenu_register("postmenu_2631632", true);
vbmenu_register("postmenu_2631632", true); vbmenu_register("postmenu_2631632", true);

09-12-2005, 01:43 AM

Waouwww... nice concept... i like it... like macro shoot... excellent... like the idea...
Can be really spectacular! :bounce:
For the camera view i don't now what to say excpet that perhaps if you place the camera a little lower... that it look more on the high... to give the feeling that the spider throw herself from a higher point... i don't know how to explain in english... hope that u understand what i want to explain...

anyway, your concept is very original, i'm subscribe and i'm waiting to see more...

09-12-2005, 05:53 AM
Just popping by, hoping for some updates here...suppose you're trapped in feather modeling right now :) also, I really like the first concept having the spider jump up to reach the bird - it will make hime more vicious even if it's not a typical behaviour. Now, updates please :scream:

09-12-2005, 08:23 AM
hehe told u so (on romelalgos comment) :D

anyways just checking by and am waiting to see more progress man

09-12-2005, 10:08 AM
Elfo : sure man thanks!

SuperXCM : thanks! i'll play with the pov ones i do the models( hard work part and learning) !

Gunilla : nice of you to drop by ... sadly havent started on it yet has to do another charactor for a client maybe i can post it after i done with it in the finshed works section!
thanks again!

faiya : shut up man!:) do come and post! you know ur the only guy from the same geographic location as im heheh! by the way can i burrow ur she-loab u know that cool spider model u have ?

09-12-2005, 10:13 AM
Very Nice concept man! I love the colors and those drops of water!

Wanna see more!! :bounce:

09-12-2005, 11:32 PM
This is cruelty to us arachnophobes :D

Awaiting the final images with great anticipation already :)
The positioning romelalgo says 'yes' on reminds me very much of National Geographic and Animal Planet videos on bird catching spiders ;P

Good luck! :scream::thumbsup:

09-13-2005, 02:58 AM
SibSpi : what you mean they actually catch birds like this? heheh thanks man!

Hooch : thanks man! drop by anytime!

just had time so made a quick test model of rain drops on a web the render i'll post in seconds!

simple spheres and nurbs tubes! not detailed that much since this will be in the background

09-13-2005, 07:07 AM
I love your entry! I like your concept, and your models of the spider and bird are awesome. And this web looks so real! I can't wait to see the end result!:bounce:

09-13-2005, 07:23 AM
excellent colours and combination. Good work and good luck. Nice to see a maldivian doing this good. can't wait to see the updates:thumbsup:

09-13-2005, 07:29 AM
This will be very sweet! I loved this macro shot...
I will be waching here man
Good Luck for u, c ya

09-13-2005, 07:43 AM
Really nice for a test, maybe put the drips a bit smaller, otherwise really awesome.

09-13-2005, 07:52 AM
wowww !
its beautiful !

i really love the concept and ure last picture (the render test) !
its excellent !

Im fooled by this Render ! Bravo!!

keep up the good work :)

09-13-2005, 07:52 AM
very nice test..

09-13-2005, 07:53 AM
Love the concept, simple and very effective. Gives you so much time to really perfect the image. Looking forward to updates.

My Spectacular entry:

09-13-2005, 08:04 AM
Mmmm. I don't think Tarantulas make such webs. They live in ground burrowings, or create a nest where they can hide. They have nests very dense of silk (ehh, bad english, sorry). They don't build huge webs between trees or leaves, because they don't expect ther pray to enter it. (How much trouble would a spiderweb cause for a hummingbird, or a small reptile?). Tarantulas won't show themselves sitting in the middle of huge webs, they prefer sneak attacks. Try to find some images of it, and you'll know what I mean.

09-13-2005, 08:26 AM
willisje : thanks for the cooment!

nadeym : yup thanks man! a not lot of u around(maldivians) but its a start!;)

LLAURO_MX : thanks!

ar LutiK : thanks man but u should see some pictures i came across here > http://www.pbase.com/minoltaman/raindrops

flaeticia : thanks ! im trying to do just that :)!

Neeno : thanks!

vincent1 : sure man thanks!

profg : how right u are ! but im not aming for actual reality as swamps said to make it more interesting ! hey thanks for the crits! what do u think?

09-13-2005, 08:40 AM
Oh boy! I was thinking of using particles system to make my Character's Sweat,
but now that I see your drops of water I realized how wrong I was!! :D
looking great keep going!

BTW: It's that Mental ray you're using man?

09-13-2005, 08:48 AM
cheers mate, fantastic render test... simple, clear... but strong and beautiful

09-13-2005, 10:11 AM
Hooch : nothing amazing there actualy and simple water shader applied to a nurbs sphere and rendered maya default renderer! thanks man!

Lemog : thanks man ! such strong comments! hey so hows the architecture coming along>

btw the web is just a component it may appear in some distant corner of the image!:)
now some leaf raindrops coming along not soon but soon;)!

09-13-2005, 11:00 AM
this is one cool concept!! it`s so simple but thats what makes it so good and funny :)
just one thing: shouldn`t the drops be a little more egg shaped (can`t think of the right word in english :)) and perfectly round? just a thought...

09-13-2005, 12:10 PM
Wow! Just the raindrops are spectacular! (I'm a simple guy)
Great idea.

You could have the spider flicking (firing) a round of "urticating hairs" from it's body, as an added dynamic. Looks fantastic already though.

09-13-2005, 12:54 PM
Well ..what can i say...i like so much your idea and the macro scene...the possibilities for texturing and , lighting and all that stuff that makes u go wow ..are endless...Keep going Hamid.

:bounce:  :bounce:

09-13-2005, 01:45 PM
As I said before, this is my favourite entry so far (the only one i'm subscribed for, actually), and all the renders are beautiful, I just don't like that web. (Though it looks good. Dunno, perhaps my arachnophobia :))

09-13-2005, 01:49 PM
Very nice mood (the lighting works great) and feel... the droplets should be a little smaller imho because the web would break with such weight on it.. great anyway...

09-13-2005, 01:53 PM
great concept, can't wait the next picture :)
really like the macro shot !

good luck

09-13-2005, 01:58 PM
Zongo : thanks man! hmmm i did it kinda oval and pear drop from some refrences i found in the link http://www.pbase.com/minoltaman/raindrops < they look awesome btw does anybody know where i can get raindrops falling stills?

ShichiFukujin : thanks man! yeah i'll thats a good idea.

Dimitris : thanks man!this is going to be a hard!have not actualy done the likes of these kinda scenes!

profg : thanks man! hehehe arachnophobia reminds me of that spider movie!:) well nothings final just trying around to get the look! but still i lack a detailed spider images guess have to do some parts using imagination!

09-13-2005, 02:03 PM
Man, you've got a potential winner right here, keep going, I'm subscribed! Nothing much to crit at this point...

09-13-2005, 02:03 PM
nice concept man ... cant wait till the final image :applause:

09-13-2005, 02:03 PM
very nice concept, i really like that, i think the most spectacular scenes are in the nature. Good work:eek:

09-13-2005, 02:24 PM
wow, I love it so far. You have an excellent idea going on here, I'm a bit jealouse :) Spectacular start.

09-13-2005, 02:29 PM
Wow very impressive, I love the composition but think the spider could do with more anticipation of the catch, rather than just flying. Thoughts?

BTW love the raindrops, they look awesome.:bounce:

09-13-2005, 02:57 PM
The raindrops are a really great idea and you did them well. :applause:
Cool progress

09-13-2005, 02:59 PM

I realy like the idea!

Keep up good work

09-13-2005, 03:10 PM
icedeyes : thanks man! but they wont break check the link in my earlier post u'll find far more bigger droplets on a web!:)

monks : thanks man!

keetmun : thanks man! will try to make somthing here!

Rotab3D : thanks!

melkao : thanks and i couldnt agree with you more!

katalyzt : thanks no need man! there are other far more splendid ideas .. still sometimes think if this is a good enough concept!

09-13-2005, 07:31 PM

Though I don't like spiders at all, I will watch this.

09-13-2005, 07:46 PM

09-14-2005, 06:15 AM
Hey Hamid! Your thread is so hot that it's steaming :scream:
I really like those last test renders with the drops - beautiful! Also hope that you keep the freshness of the overall green tone - it's stunning.
Hanging around waiting for the next updates

excellent progress, i wonder if in the end we're gonna actually see the web in the background
hehe can't wait to see more updates

09-14-2005, 06:15 PM
Thats really good concept, nice sense of motion. I love the way you mix peaceful colors and mood with fast action.

09-14-2005, 06:20 PM
Well, for a spider-fan like me, it's for sure an interesting entry :bounce:

I will keep an eye here, to see how it's going. If you transform your concept with the same amount of quality than in your last "render-test"..It will be HUGE

I think you should make the spider a bit bigger, or the bird smaller, an i also prefer the first composition.

09-14-2005, 08:09 PM
Really good theme. I like the color choice a lot also. This image has lots of potential. Looking forward to updates. Cheers, good luck.

09-14-2005, 11:37 PM
Hey, thnx for the comment.

I love what you have going so far. A small crit might be that the "raindrops" look a little too big. I know thats because a web is so thin. So perhaps it is just perfect :)...

But just an observation. keep it up bro.

09-15-2005, 12:25 AM
really really great View .nice perpective .I set this image as my desktop now . :bounce:

09-15-2005, 07:19 AM
really cool stuff man, I shall call you the "DOF master" from now on  really adds to the pictures! looking forward to see the end result!

09-15-2005, 07:34 AM
Hi Yunisirees,

Thanks for the comments on my recent sketch. I just wanted to stop by and check your progress as well, that latest render is amazing. I'll have to pick your brain someday on how to get such nice renders as Im still a newbie to the 3D world. Great job:)

09-15-2005, 01:34 PM
I found your concept very interesting... but I'm so affraid about spiders :argh: a real phobia... In any case is a wonderful work that you've made until now !

mr. thurner
09-15-2005, 02:13 PM

good luke here! i'm locking too!

09-15-2005, 02:27 PM
What can I say that hasn't already been said - this really is looking very promising indeed. I would say that the web could do with being much more detailed and the droplets could possibly be smaller but hey, it's early doors.

Keep it coming, looking forward to seeing a hairey spider

Alberto Raposo
09-15-2005, 04:05 PM
wow! These spider will need to be fast! Nice concept, good look!

Alberto Raposo : thanks yup its a very fast spider!

SoniaNotRed : thanks! me too!

09-15-2005, 10:10 PM
Your test of rain drop is simply beautiful- i just think that drops are too regular, too spherical. Last month I've began a3d-illustration showing a beetle touching rain drops on a petal of flower, I wish there were as much sensibility as in yours.

09-16-2005, 06:06 AM
the renders looks great and the web almost real. a good job you make here. wish you will update soon.

09-16-2005, 07:52 AM
That's an original concept, Unisirees, congrats! It crossed my mind to try a macro picture too before doing the one I'm in. Your's is very promissing. :)
Thanks for dropping in my thread.

I'll be back to watch your next posts, for sure.

09-16-2005, 08:34 AM

09-16-2005, 09:57 AM
Hey yunisirees, cool fruits, they look kind of carnivorous to me... are they?
Am I missing something here, or are you modeling another spider? Have'nt you model one already???

09-16-2005, 10:02 AM

Madlight_1988 : thanks man!

claudio_jordao : thanks! heheh it a small fruit about 1 to 2 centimeters , tastes like passion fruit, nope its not carnivorus( i think). and as for the spider previously it was just a 3d sketch build up of primitive shapes (animatic) now i have started the detail modeling! :)

09-16-2005, 10:13 AM
narutochen : thanks man! heheh it almost all green and has the texture of a water melon!

CUBISIS : thanks man!

Hooch : thanks man! this is the actual one!:)

09-16-2005, 04:19 PM
Beautyful texture!! Very nice model too! :)

09-16-2005, 04:30 PM
Wow! That's a spectacular fruit - really beautiful. So, it is a real fruit growing on your island?
Amazing how it protects itself from being eaten... perhaps you could have a small scene in the background where a larva or something tries to catch the fruit? :)

Lots of magic in your work so far

09-16-2005, 05:15 PM
very nice models.  :buttrock: can't wait.cheers.

09-16-2005, 05:55 PM

Great work so far, man. My finished work still doesn't come close to your first sketch :) I might end up doing something with a low-res scorpion I have. Wish you all the best :)

09-16-2005, 09:13 PM
that looks like a promising entry - il already looks fresh and graphical if you see what I mean try not to loose irt on your way --- maybe a bit more perspective or depth will help dynamise the overall composition - what you think?

09-16-2005, 09:27 PM
Nice start with the modeling!! :bounce: can't wait to see spider!!

Keep it up!

09-17-2005, 10:20 AM

09-18-2005, 10:20 PM
Exellent result, i like it. :)

I've a little crits about the leaf material, a bit too "dry" to be alive . I thing you should play with spectular to get off the plastic impression, and add some water (drips as on your web or anything else) ;)
Just my advice ;)

Anyway it's already really beautifull

09-18-2005, 10:31 PM

Awesome, Hamid.

James : thanks man ! just an spotlight with raytrace shadows for the key and an ambient light for the fill and some green colours.

I've a little crits about the leaf material, a bit too "dry" to be alive . I thing you should play with spectular to get off the plastic impression, and add some water (drips as on your web or anything else) ;)
Just my advice ;)

Heya Yuni... Your last image just brought a huge smile to my face, I get a real natural vibe from your model... I think you may want to be careful though that some of your branches don't point too much toward the ground... It will keep more credibility IMO

hi, just a quick question... did you use a NURBS cylinder and extrude for the vine growing on the main stalk or did you use a script?
