Hmm...this is going to be spectacular! Is there going to be a giant hovercraft? Maybe flying bears? Those are cool. :)

Thanks for the initial comments, everybody. I don't exactly know what I'm going to do, so I just sat down and did that sketch really quick to try and get ideas. Its just basically an abandoned warehouse/base/factory of some kind that's pretty old and tattered with a huge robot thingy chasing after that puny guy you can barely see inside. I still have a bunch of other ideas that I'd still like to explore of course.

Thanks again!

Lol he's so tiny! Spectacular lighting. :) I'm curious about how the robot is going to be put in.

Hey, aoisabaku.

Yeah, the guy is super small...haha. I did that to give a really huge sense of scale with the building. Well, as far as the robot goes, I was planning on making it visable through the missing panels in the building's rooftop and throughout the building. I was still trying to figure that out while I was working on the sketch, but it wasn't quite resolved at that time :)

I'm still not to certain yet on my direction. A spectacular fight maybe? I dunno. Just an idea.

interesting sky, how about somehow trying to add magnificience
to the swordsman, like an insanely long line of bodies behind him,
bodies of warriors the swordsman had to defeat to get to this
man closest to the viewer.. yea might be too bloody , bu that's
just an idea too, nice start u got there :)

Thanks for the comments. I did think about adding a bunch of bodies of other fallen swordsmen, but I thought that it might be a bit too much because I would have to add a lot of blood. You wouldn't necessarily be able to see it though since it would be so far away I guess. Its not spectacular enough for me yet because nothing is happening in the picture :) Off to do other sketches now!

Hmm, quite a departure! Looks like some crazy ninja farm in Montana...crazy ninja farming, now that would be spectacular! Crazy tricked out stunts of ninja farming like doing backflips while mowing hay...ninja milking of the cows....hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiya!...ninja raising of the barns...I should stop. :scream: Looks great, I'm just like this in the mornings...

Cheers! :)

hahaah, Hey Rebecca, FrozZt.

You sure you're not on a caffiene high right now? :bounce:

It is quite different than what I normally would paint or think of. That's for sure. Still thinking of different ideas....haha.

Oooh, very nice. I like the backlighting. But why do you keep editing out your old posts?

Anyways, it looks like the most recent one will turn out pretty well.

weslouie

Hey, Chris. I like the backlighting as well because it helps the swordsman in the background stand out because of the silhouette. Umm...I keep editing my old posts because I'm uploading the new images from a link CG Talk sent me to submit uploads and when I do that, it shows my new image at the top of the thread, but it also shows the new image at the end of the thread and all of the older images are gone. So, I'm editing the older posts beacuse I don't want the newest image at the beginning and at the end of my thread. I dunno what I'm doing incorrectly to not have all of the older images show in addition to my newest image.

Mr Western Louie is in the competition... I feel like I should get in the mix now... just because... Cool stuff... it's weird why does the entry page show two other images besides this one, but they aren't shown in this thread??? Not that it matters, just seems strange... Cool work by the way... probally would be more spectacular i fthey were fighting atop of trees, or next to a water fall... you know Crouching Tiger style... maybe even cooler if they were in, or next to a village Seven Samurai style... If you have seen any of those movies that is... :)

Hey. Thanks for the comments. I was still trying to think of the scene and idea behind an image, so that came out. Not very spectacular, but it was a quick thought :) Well, the entry page shows a few images and the thread shows one image because everytime I submit a WIP, then the old image becomes the new image in two posts in the thread. No idea why. Of course I've seen Crouching Tiger and Seven Samurai! Seven Samurai is one of my favorite films of all-time.

Your sketches are really dynamics with lots of energy. I like the last with the perspective and the contrast.
I can't wait to see more!!!
Good luck

Thanks. I don't know if I'll even be able to start on my entry. I've been too swamped with freelance work these past few weeks

I'll try though.
