This is the first thing that popped in to my head when i thought of spectacular ,I saw a scene with a carnaval lady crossed a Diva opera singer like in fifth element on stage letting rip to the world .This sketch will be the first of many

Great sketch, promisses a godly appearance! :) heheh, best of luck and have loadsa fun mate!
bout the pose, i could picture her spreading her arms, so the phoenix spreads the wings...

oh cheers guys nice to have some encouragement
”the1st_angel” oh the pose was just taken from fifth element ill probably give her a much grander gesture (arms really high as if she lifting her voice to the next level + the wing idea is a good one thanks
“eYadNesS “ Now giving the voice power is going to be the hardest task. I need to give her a sense major presence on stage. Thought maybe have her feathers shacking like a peacock , maybe sound wave but that might look a rubbish ill figure it out .
thanks for your interest

09 September 2005, 08:40 AM
Hey man Good luck with the challenge! i love the sketch, the concept looks like it could really really work, one thing that i think could improve it alot though is the camera angle, maybe have it looking up from the left at the singer, giving her more presence.
Work on the compersition and you'll be flying!
Best of luck

Very nice idea... Really like the drawing too... Will she be on the stage all alone? Good luck in the challenge...
09 September 2005, 11:57 PM
Hey really like it. Perhaps she also shapes some sort of visual element with her hands as well? Some sort of holographic painting? Spheres she controls through her singing? Just something to add even another level of Spectacular.

hey guy started doing lots of sketches and it helping me load, i think more planning now will help me gett just what i want later so im not rushing anything.
this one is a concept for the face mask an may be a little aztec to.i tried some poses with her hand rised like wings but she started to look a bit slutting ,am going for utter gace a girl you'd bring home to mum but with lots of feather. i know the sort of gesture i want so ill get it up soon as i can
09 September 2005, 01:30 PM
Very nice your concept, y like you draw, good luck
09 September 2005, 02:53 PM
Great idea. I can't wait to see what you come up with for modeling all those feathers without ending up with a trillion polygons... alpha masks perhaps? Keep up the good work!
09 September 2005, 10:08 AM
just a thought on how the feather are goin to be placed on the mask. The thing im not happy with is the size of the eye hole ,i think they are to big. And i think ill put lots of little sharp feathers round the egde of the mask to lead in to the big ones . plus i realised brushing my teeth this morning what the hell i have got myself in too lol

Hi, Sam! Nice sketches! I like the idea of the carnaval dancer, they always remind me of a large, glitzy peacock, quite spectacular to behold. Good luck with the sketches, and maybe you should start thinking about color!
