And here is the first steps of modelling.
I´m start with the Wind. :)
Tell me what you think
10-06-2005, 08:16 PM
I´m a lill late .. hehe
Here is my concept scketch. Is a crazy idea, but I think is a spetacular event of the nature ...
My idea is to make "The arrive of the spring".
The girl with the bird head (I not decide yet if the head will be a complete head bird or will be a human head with a mask ...) is the Spring, she is lauching seeds of life all over the world.
The fat guy is the wind. He blows the seeds over the air with his breath.
10-06-2005, 08:24 PM
Hi JrBraz, excellent concept art, is totally inside of your style.

10-21-2005, 12:49 AM
Here is process modeling of the Spring
10-21-2005, 12:53 AM
Here is a test with the 2 characters together ..
I change my mind about the Spring's head ... I was tried a bird version, but it was looking more like a monster .. heheh
10-21-2005, 12:56 AM
And here is a fast render, without textures yet ...
Soon I´ll post a complement to the original sketch, now with the Winter leave the scene ...
The new title for the image will be "The Fall of Winter and the rise of the Spring" :)
10-21-2005, 12:58 AM

This is the first texture test of the Wind
10-26-2005, 05:55 PM
another render view
10-26-2005, 06:23 PM
Hi Jr, ! spectacular concept you have here! and woman model is stylize! but i have some point, now I think the balloon guy can be bigger to hold air in his body ,and I like the bird head of the girl , maybe you can make them to be girl hat?
good job man!
10-27-2005, 02:06 AM
Hi João, the models are so good, the guy is very funny, i liked especially of the lady. Good work dude.
10-27-2005, 07:53 PM
nice texture, it is displacement map on region of the chest ?
10-27-2005, 08:46 PM
I agree with monsitj, The wind could be bigger, also it isn't clear what he is... in some ways the just looks like a bit genie giving a girl a ride. Mabye there is some way to make parts of him appear to be made of wind.. and maybe even clouds.
Te fact that one of the ropes is tied around his neck is a little disturbing. It changes the look on his face to that of someone being strangled.
10-27-2005, 11:44 PM
Here is a new render, now with the complete modeling of the Spring and a new angle of camera.
10-28-2005, 12:06 AM
Hi guys, thanks for the comments :)
monsitj, thanks. I´m made a change in the size of the Wind and is really better now :) About the bird head, I´m thinking to make a mask ... Soon I will pos some tests ..
denverbz, thanks man.
dcmoutinho, hi man. The details in the chest is just a bump map painted in photoshop :)
Radulan, thanks. I´m agree about the wind .... Is a little dificult to know that he is the wind ... I´m tried to do him with some parts of the body made with smoke, like a cloud, but he looks more with a genie ... I will made more tests, maybe some parts transparents could help ...
And about the hope in the neck, is to show she controls the Wind, but we could see he holding the hope wanting to be free.... (is just a crazy idea... hehe)
10-28-2005, 03:03 AM
Here is the concept of the background :)
10-28-2005, 09:36 PM
what a strage concept, and it got something similar like your m&s escene,... a character indicating to somewhere, i think that is your style...anyway it does'nt matter, you have a cool work to this one....good luck:thumbsup:
10-30-2005, 01:23 AM
Your characters look great:thumbsup: , I agree that the wind guy could use some more visual clues as to who he is. Maybe some hair blowing in the breeze. Keep up the good work.
11-01-2005, 08:02 PM
This is very cool stuff, wonderfully surreal. I guess the sense of air and atmosphere will be important here, so I'm looking forward to see how you'll pull that off. Great work so far, no doubt.
11-01-2005, 09:46 PM
I´m start to paint the clouds before model all the elemments ... Here is the progress :)
11-01-2005, 11:46 PM
Really original concept, i like it a lot! :bounce:
Nice style too, and good modeling, waiting to see more!
The clouds are beautiful!
11-02-2005, 12:00 AM
very cool work my friend.
11-02-2005, 12:02 AM
It´s my first time on your thread......very nice job, i like the idea and the non photorealistic render that you are using.
Keep going and good job!
11-04-2005, 01:58 AM
Just a test with new colors...
I will start soon the modeling of the background
11-04-2005, 02:13 AM
mmoir, yes I agree too. I thinking to change the facial expression of the Wind to improve the visual clues too ...
JamesMK, thanks. The environment is really important in this scene ... I will work on this now .. soon I post the updates of the modeling ... probally will change a lot of things in the clouds ...
SuperXCM, thanks man :)
facepunch.net, thanks :)
Deankovitch, hi, be welcome :) Thanks for the comments.
11-04-2005, 03:51 AM

11-04-2005, 08:46 PM
Hi Braz, I liked this new angle and color. Keep going
11-05-2005, 02:43 AM
the color it's great !!! you rock !:buttrock:
11-05-2005, 01:34 PM
I liked the concept a lot and the work is getting great. Congrats! I think that there is something wrong with the girl elbow and would be great if you could fix this because the work itselg is very good.
Good lucky and congrats!
11-05-2005, 03:11 PM
Very nice, the idea is really good and the composition for this one is looking great! Hadn't seen your entry before, it was a good surprise :). The new camera angle is just to show the model, right? I agree with the comment about the elbow, and I would suggest that the wind guy had fuzzy/wispy edges, would make more sense conceptually. Also, the major thing that I see as being a bit weird is that she seems to be pointing in the right direction in 2D, but she would be way off if it were a real scene... She would be turning around to point, or the cloud with the rainbow would have to be brought somehow into the foreground. The way that it is now it feels like it's way in the back...
11-05-2005, 05:23 PM
JR.BRAZ, muito bom o seu trabalho, parabéns, continua firme aí...
11-05-2005, 05:44 PM

11-19-2005, 05:31 AM
Oi JR. Parebens ta ficando muito legal! massa..
I agree there is a problem with the elbow though, take care of it, you have great skills, I also like your concept, can´t wait to see the piece done..
11-21-2005, 01:24 AM
New render and sketchs of the last details.
The fishes, the butterflys and the apple are photos used just for reference ...
11-21-2005, 01:46 PM
beatiful render, congratulation:thumbsup:
that composition is much better than the previous ones.
11-21-2005, 08:56 PM
11-21-2005, 10:00 PM
Cool stuff, very surreal. I like compositiona a lot, and the contrast of so many colours and textures is interesting to look at. The only thing I'd suggest is turing down the bump a bit on the skin texture. Alexi

12-06-2005, 02:40 AM
Every year the might Winter, bring the death all over the world. But every year, his power is not enough to defeat the seed of hope, that was borned in the Tree of Life. The tree that´s feeded by the Wind of Changes, who brings the beauty Spring.
This is the return of the Spring.
