I was trying to think of what to paint and I came up with an idea of a helicopter crashing on background and a woman trying to protect her baby child from the devastation.
I usually start a more serious painting like this by sitting down and doing an initial sketch as quickly as I can. The skech will probably look nothing like the final version but it is easier for me to start planning what the picture will look like in the end when I have something to look at. (No matter how ugly it might look like.)

Squibbit, Yongkiat and enialadam: Thanks. And best of luck to the challenge for you all.
NOOB: Yeah, that is something I need to do and I'll keep that in mind. Thanks. This pic is just to get myself started and to get the ideas flowing.
Good thing that there is tree months to finish this challenge. A new semester is starting and I have a lot to do. I'm not worried about not finishing this challenge. I'm more worried about getting too addicted to painting and forgotting my studies. Bad me. Bad. Anyway, I think I should finish my Butterfly Queen piece on the WIP forums before getting more involved with this one.

You've got a good concept here, it fits the "iconic image" guideline. Keep at it.
