My image is this : it will be much more exxagerated then this and i will have more props. Before a grizzly goes into a sort of hybernation mode for a few months, they go on a quest, a great hunt for salmon crossing miles and miles along the river, narrowly missing death many times(the salmon). But the last trial the salmon fish goes through is the jump pass the grizzly bears.
The reason i have called this image, "The Hunt - Karma" is because i will change the roles slightly of the salmon from a helpless 8 second memory spanned fish to a mean predator, who has come before the grizzly bear in a past life and lost to it in a fight to the death and has come back to avenge its death. I will capture the grizzly bear in a fierce menacing emotion, on the hunt and the fish in the same way but much more aggressive in a head to head battle.
You will decide who wins this fight of The Scaley Creature and the Hairy Beast Of Menace!! mu hu ha ha ha ha

Stylish concepts so far
Otherwise just popping by to subscribe. Good luck!
09-14-2005, 02:46 AM
This concept is going to be interesting , maybe you could make the bigger or somehow convey that this fish has power , ie an unnatural pose for a fish. I like the sketching style and I look forward to what you do with this.
09-14-2005, 02:26 PM
Soapy - Glad you like the idea dude. Cheers :D
JamesMK - hope your subscription is worth the while, thanks for the encouragement dude.
mmoir - hey dude thanks for the encouragement and input. my sketches were simply to get a feel of the concept as i mentioned earlier my expressions will go way beyond the emotions in my sketches.. and this fish will have some agressiveness/comic look on his facial ad body expressions.. enjoy.. and thankyou again
Posting WIP update very shortly..
09-14-2005, 02:28 PM
Quick modeling session about 1 hour...havent had much time to work on this project.. just roughing out the head. want alot of exaggerated muscle tension in the bears face.. so im working on that.. let me know what you think on the begginings of the model...
09-14-2005, 10:54 PM
Hi Neeno, nice to see you. Interesting concept, i look forward to it. Good luck mate:thumbsup:

Nice start Neeno, a bit early to comment yet but will keep looking in to follow your progresshttp://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon7.gifhttp://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon13.gif

Nice concept. I think the snout is too blunt and wide for a bear. Also, the eye socket and nostrils seem a bit wierd; the socket looks like it needs to be less circular and deeper into the head (try defining the brow); and the nostrils aren't really holes like that...on a bear atleast, thier nose looks more like a dogs nose. Maybe a bit too early to really comment on for the rest of the head. Keep it up. Hope to see an update soon.

Nice start my friend.... looking forward to seeing more
09-25-2005, 01:27 AM
hey guys.. thanks for comments.. havnt had a chance these 2 weeks to work on it hopefully i get a chance too since..

Your modelling skills have shown some improvement. You've shown more control when creating something organic. Keep it up. I'll be watching the thread.
Can I recommend that you rough out the over all shape of the animal before putting in the details. This is a problem I often have because I rush into the fine details to quickly. What I mean by details are things like eyes, wrinkles, toung, nose wholes, nails, etc.. etc..
Good luck on your entry.
