Come on Come All

In 1930, Mr. Benjamin Denver founded the Denver’s Circus Company, a median-scale and poor circus that presented it self in small-towns across of State. Five years after the Denver’s Circus foundation, in one of those little towns, Mr. Benjamin met James Molina, a First World War ex-soldier looking for a job in the area. Italian descendent, James impressed Mr. Benjamin by his physical scale and his extraordinary power, when he lifted seven men on a platform, for a few seconds. Without a doubt he hired him as a member of the group.

Many years went by… and the company didn’t make any improvement, still having a money problem. In spite of the Denver’s Circus having acquired a few new equipments, Mr. James Molina was still the biggest attraction. Even whit 52 years, he continued doing many achievements at the circus, especially when he lifted ‘Big Bob’, the 8.500 lbs. elephant, making the crowd delirious.

In 1946, a year supposed to be like many others, something special happened that made a statement for that generation. It happened in one of those little towns that the circus went, when the staff was building up the tend. The young Bruce, employee responsible for Big Bob’s trailer, get distracted and left it on the top of the slope without breaks.

At the same moment, far from her parent’s eyes, Jessica, a 5-year’s old girl, was playing with a colorful balloon near by the elephant. Scared, Big Bob started to move agitated making the trailer going down on the slope. The sisters Judith and Dorothy, two nuns, were passing by coming from the church, saw the trailer coming down the hill in the direction of the little girl and screamed for help.

Aware by the noise, Mr. James Molina, who was preparing the equipments for the night show, saw the trailer moving and run to try to avoid a big tragedy. With his power and his experience of many years of work, Mr. James accomplished the biggest achievement of his career and his live: stopping the elephant’s trailer and saving the little girl’s live. Until this days, the whole town still talks about this. Every newspaper, at that time, published the story of the little Jessica’s rescue by Mr. James Molina, ‘the strongest man in the world’.

The End

Hey Alan ! Nice to see you here ! I am sure you are going to make a nice job !

This is my scene.
The idea is to show the star of a 50's circus. "The strongest man in the world". A man that can lift a car, an airplane and an elephant. his name: James. A man who is 46 years old, a veteran with extensive circus experience, great fame and ripped muscles. A paradox exists between the raw strength of James displayed by his overwhelming power to lift a chained elephant and innoscently fragile an looking girl, hoding a single baloon.

(sorry about my english)

09-08-2005, 03:36 PM
Such a wonderful concept. With the 50s motif in your scene, will add extra visual treats to the final scene. Hope to see more

09-08-2005, 03:36 PM
Very interesting idea, Alan! I think it would be interesting if there was some sortof big crowd around the man, looking scared, while the little girl would be standing more to the front.

Boa sorte e bom trabalho!

09-09-2005, 02:21 AM
Hey "camera" hohoho :) Wow that is the best of all the sketch i saw ! Great, great image, i like how you fill it with elements. it is very very good, you can tell a story just by looking on the elements...
"maybe the CIA (the policemen on the back) are going to hire the strong guy" or "the children is talking to her papa about the school today" hahahaha great ! I am really cheering for you :)

09-09-2005, 03:45 AM

09-09-2005, 05:13 AM
I'd also have the elephants trunk up. (seems to be a lot of elephants this challenge:) ) And more action around them. A juggler...man on stilts...more tents...cotton candy stand....maybe even have the man holding the elephant standing on a ball.

Great concept. Can't wait to see where this goes.

09-09-2005, 07:11 AM
wow, great idea dude.. goodluck for the challenge!

I posted this last image about the elephant. Please C&C. Thanks

09-11-2005, 06:41 AM
thanks for "modelling progress"

Do you plan to add small geometry details in future? Or it will be just texture and bump?

09-11-2005, 08:49 AM
Looks good! The legs should be a bit thicker though, especially around the "knee" area. Great fast progress there! Giving us a run for our money!

09-11-2005, 11:03 AM
Great start to the jumbo Alan, its going to be mammoth http://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon7.gifhttp://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon13.gif

09-11-2005, 12:36 PM
Alan, the elephant is great ! The ears and the weight are very nice !!! I would change somethings on the foot though, the nails area is a bit strange, the nails should be touching the ground, like if they were the last thing on the foot. Hmm, let me try to show you and example...

Ok, here, the nails are toucing the ground and they have more volume and size. Well, just a tip :)

Alan, everything is great ! the topology of the head and body is very nice ! I think that the great challenge here will be the texture !

Cya ! Keep the good job :)

09-11-2005, 04:57 PM
(o)ne, Thanks dude.

Nichod Hi Brian. I agree when you say about the "knee" area, maybe i can change something. I'll go to look my references again and verify. Thanks dude

Storytelling Tree Hi Andre. I agree about that you said. I not saw this detail so important, i'll go to modify.About the textures, you are sure, this is my great challenge!!! "I WANNA A ZBRUSH":scream:.... thanks my friend

09-11-2005, 05:01 PM
Your elephant's coming up very nicely. Can't wait to see it textured ;)

The equipment to support the elephant when James lift him.

09-12-2005, 03:45 AM
Interesting viewpoint for a spectacular theme. Perhaps a mammoth instead of an elephant? That would up the impact value. Your modelling skills should handle that with no problem. Yeah, mammoths are extinct, but hey... this is art.

Regards and all the best with your entry.

09-12-2005, 04:12 AM
Hi Alan. You is very fast! Your model is being very cool.

09-13-2005, 06:26 AM
Very promising progress  I continue to watch !

09-13-2005, 07:02 PM

nice elephant but they arn't shinny or glossy :p

09-16-2005, 12:22 AM
Thanks by his comment. How i said, i need better something specially the speculary in the textures. Thanks. :)

09-16-2005, 01:00 AM
here's a nice photo of an elephant, ( http://www.uwsp.edu/cnr/wcee/get/images/Africa/Saf-Addo%20elephant%20mad.jpg ) not much SSS going on it, so i think you should make your SSS less powerful.

09-16-2005, 01:34 AM
Wow, good reference. Really the elephant don't have none speculary, hehehe. Thanks dude

09-16-2005, 02:13 AM
Nice elephant! Wow. Maybe dirty up the toe nails a little more though. Give them some grooves too with your bump map. The toe nails look too "clean" right now.

09-16-2005, 03:01 AM
The texture of the elephant's extra ordinary...really well detailed and nice.. Keep on the great work.

09-16-2005, 03:12 AM
gardogg - Hi Gary. I agree about that you said, but I not still worked the textures both of the nail and of the grip, but now i'll go to see. Thanks

Hugs man:beer:

09-21-2005, 10:49 AM
Great portrait, he has a very sad and exhausted look, it's hard to depict emotions correctly in 3d, congrats! Here's my favourite tip for ear modelling by Bay Rait, ears in my challenge are not ready yet too, gona make it today: http://cube.phlatt.net/home/spiraloid/movies/bay_Ear.gif

Hi, thanks.
Ok, I finished the torso of the strongest man. I did a first version but looked small, then i put more volume on the model. The clothes i'm thinking of use like references; Louis Cyr, canadian that was the strongest man in the world during the 20's or 30's?

09-26-2005, 04:10 PM
Hm, very, very good modelling. Espesially my respect to quality of anatomy modelling.

09-26-2005, 06:19 PM
Thanks grigorij,
I still need to do some details with the model and soon i'll post here, Thanks for your comments.

09-26-2005, 07:16 PM
I agree. The anatomy looks excellent here. I wouldn't know that had I not been studying anatomy extensively for 2 weeks! You are right on from what I can tell. Looking great!

jddog - Thanks dude. I still hope finish this model this week. Thanks

Hey, it's very good modelling. Very convincsible and accurate. U got sharp eye. One little crit, there is something wrong with lower part of neck. It's more useal for thin characters than muscular. I think it should be more smooth.

09-28-2005, 05:24 PM
Hi grigorij. I agree about you said. I still need to make adjustments on the model. Thanks for your tip dude.

09-28-2005, 09:38 PM
Very nice updates of James. I like the style of his clothes and shoes. I think it will fit perfectly in your concept!

Great proportions, anatomy, and modeling as a whole! I'd say that you should make the ring finger on that hand a little longer though. Keep it up!

09-29-2005, 06:09 AM

Hi, i started with the textures of the strongest man, i still have make some adjusts.

10-03-2005, 06:12 PM
pitiwazou,the_fgdf - Thanks for your comments.

Ok, i'm finishing the strongest man, i still make somethings but i think finish today or tomorrow, i hope.

10-03-2005, 06:28 PM
I think the creases by his cheek bone and jaw are a little harsh and the transition from his hair to his face needs work (maybe blend it better with your color map). The eyebrows and the model itself look fantastic. The face could use some more shine and a little less brown tones. This is coming along quite well!

10-03-2005, 07:38 PM
hi gardogg, thanks for your tips dude, i'll be correct this.

10-03-2005, 08:13 PM
Nice modeling! He looks a bit like Marlon Brando hehe. I´s be careful with the texturing, if the bumps are too uniform, they give us the impression of a rubber mask figure...

10-04-2005, 03:16 AM
http://features.cgsociety.org/challenge/entries/11/7921/7921_1128395797_medium.jpg (http://features.cgsociety.org/challenge/entries/11/7921/7921_1128395797_large.jpg)

Ok, one more update with the face textures.

10-04-2005, 03:23 AM
dvelasco - Hi Diego, thanks for your tips. I made some changes on the model with the textures. I did increase the specular and i did a little smooth on the the bump map. :banghead:

10-04-2005, 05:19 AM
Wow, it's a pleasure to watch how James is getting better and better:) . He looks amazing with the textures, especially with your improvements of the bump and specular map. Perhaps his stylish moustache could need a little brush-up, nothing else to crit. Great work!

10-04-2005, 12:29 PM
Hi Sabrina, thanks for your comment. I really need work the moustache, Maybe in the next update i'll corect this. thanks forr your tip.

10-04-2005, 03:52 PM
Good shading, but make some extra work on specular.

10-04-2005, 03:58 PM
Great stuff here !
Nice modeling skills ! And texturing and rendering are great too !
Can't wait to see it finished !

10-04-2005, 07:59 PM
suk-grigorij Thanks man. I igree about you said of the specular, i also saw this, thanks for your tip.

You have muuuuch work to do .. but I belive that will be a great scene.

Hi guys, One more update. I now put James beside the elephant to compare with the scale, maybe i decrease the size of the james, but i'm not sure. please C&Cs.

10-05-2005, 03:08 AM
Gus_clifton - Hi Gustavo, thanks dude. Valeu cara pela força.

JR.Braz- Hi João, thanks man. Well, the body i did modeling, but i know that i've a hard, hard work, but "Eu sou brasileiro e não desisto nunca" hahaha. I hope finish the scene. thanks for your support dude

10-05-2005, 07:33 AM
Hi! The very interesting idea! I always impress exceptional potentialities of man very much! Good luck!

10-05-2005, 08:01 AM
Yeah !
nice stuff again !
Is it a little elephant ?

10-05-2005, 08:28 AM
Very cool. The strong-man reminds me a bit of Marlon Brando.

Great work on the elephant too.

10-05-2005, 01:08 PM
Wow, this is blowing me away. Not finished yet James is already great, and in the scene he really looks amazing.  I think you should scale him down a little. Elephants are huge animals...:)

10-05-2005, 01:17 PM
I agree with Sabrina. Really wonderful work here - and the elephant could be a bit bigger.
Love the strong man model - he looks very solid

10-05-2005, 02:37 PM
Yeah this is outstanding job , soo nice texture.
Yep the elephant could be bigger, in fact I guess more he will be big , more your scene will appear spectacular...

Keep up the very great work mate...

i'm doubt about the scala of the James. I'm posted two options and i need help about this. Thanks

10-05-2005, 02:53 PM
Hey man! good texturing, and the models are so realistic! keep it up the good work!

10-05-2005, 05:13 PM
Atris - Thanks for nice words dude.

Swamps Thanks for your comments. I used Marlon Brando like reference, but i did time to do exactly like him. Thanks for your comment.

daWinky - Hi Sabrina, thanks for your comment mate. I saw this problem with the elephant and already correct this. Thanks for your tips

Gunilla - Thanks dude for your comments. How i said, i already correct the scale of the man. Thanks

Zapan - Thanks for your nice words.

Ok, i'll finish with the strongest man today and tomorrow will start with the little girl. Thanks guys

10-05-2005, 07:12 PM
This is looking very cool. The only problem is that under the belt, in the crotch area, it looks like he's wearing a diaper! Maybe this picture can help. I think the bulge created by the genital area should not be so huge like you have it right now.

10-06-2005, 02:11 AM
firstof all i agree with gardogg's comment please do change his briefs .

And now for the options u have given to select for u,i will select the 2nd one bcos in the 1st image the elephant looks like a baby.

10-06-2005, 03:06 PM
gardogg, cubisis - Thanks guys. I agree about this, but i don't know if we can to compare with this reference, The stronger man has between 45, 55 years old, arnold looks me 25. But i'll correct this, and soon will post here. Thanks for your tips.

Hi, this is the pose of stronger man. I know that this is unreal, but this is spectacular, no?

10-07-2005, 07:19 AM
Yes, this is spectacular for sure:) ! Great update!

10-07-2005, 10:31 AM
Well done Alan, nice idea!

10-07-2005, 01:15 PM
daWinky, Joao Fonseca Hi Sabrina, Hi João, thanks for your comments. I think that I found the final pose for the strong man, i was to worry about this.

10-07-2005, 01:43 PM
Ahaha , the pose is excellent Alan and yeah that is spectacular :applause:
Still great :bounce: :bounce:

10-07-2005, 02:18 PM
This anatomy and textures are perfect!
Also the retro style in that character was answome
Keep posting!

10-07-2005, 05:11 PM
To Zapan - Thanks mate. I broke :banghead: my head to find the best pose, but i think found:argh:. Thanks for your comment.

This is the car of the elephant.

10-08-2005, 07:46 AM
Alan, isto está demais!!!
Modeling is very good (you're fast!), I love the elephant textures and the middle-aged look of James! Very interesting! Keep up the good work, and good luck!

10-08-2005, 11:50 AM
I liked the concept better where he was standing on a round plate with chains.
But very nice work so far, one more thing, the way he's holding the cage he would fall over,
you need to draw a verticle line from his main leg and make sure the center of the cage/elephant is also on that line, so the weight makes sense.

10-08-2005, 12:04 PM
Alan, it is great ! I loved to see your evolution ! I am happy that you are working on it, it will be a veryyy nice still ! Very very nice, no crits from me, loved the characters. Keep coming !!!

10-08-2005, 05:50 PM
To DrFx - Oi Carlos, muito obrigado por suas palavras e pelo incentivo. Thanks for your comment and the support.

to simon.wt - Wesley, I understand. But when I did the concept i thought that would turn out well like this. But when I put on 3D, stayed a lot unreal. The chains done not stay well put and the elephant was not with security, hehehe there in top. Sorry for my english.

To Storytelling Tree - Hi Andre, good to see you here again dude, thanks for yoour nice words. I'm running to finish the scene. thanks

10-08-2005, 06:37 PM
Strong man, strong concept

it would be rather spectacular to lift an elephant in a trailer like that!!
very good job on the modeling and texturing of man and elephant.

I'll be around..

the mix of hulk and godfather is briliant

10-08-2005, 07:14 PM
Really coming along amazingly! You are on a fantastic pace. I noticed a couple of posts back a major seem in the texture where the arm meets the hands. Make sure you fix that...

10-09-2005, 03:41 AM
Hi, Alan!

Congrats, the models are very good. But I have to desagree about this last pose. I don´t know if it is a test but this way doesn´t look right for me. I think even a very strong man couldn´t lift an elephant car this way. There is no balance. And I think you will have a big problem about the elephant itself inside the car because probally it wouldn´t be stand up. I am not really sure about this last pose. I prefer the sketch pose. But that is a personal opinion. Good luck, dude!:)

10-09-2005, 03:57 PM
To 3d-empire Thanks for your comment. I think will be better, the trailer is more "real"

To gardogg Thanks. I'll to correct this, i still adjust some things on the texture. Thanks

to maurocorHi Mauro, nice see you here again dude.. I agree about you said, but i did try some poses and i liked that, because the first pose (concept) i don't liked for two reasons. 1) The plate make shadows in the strong man, this is no good. 2) The first pose don't explore the body, of the strong man, therefore, I did choice this last pose. Thanks for your tip, it's very important.

Hi, i started the texturing and i'll add more details on the trailler.

10-09-2005, 05:00 PM
Very good textures. Interresting to see with propper lightning.:)

10-09-2005, 06:07 PM
to suk-grigorij - Thnaks for your Interest, dude

to maurocor - Hi Mauro. how i showed to you. My scene is about a myth. Look this picture of the Louis Cyr, perhaps he be lifting up 10 or 15 men, this is unreal. I want to capture this essence.

10-09-2005, 10:45 PM
better late than never!

what a great idea this is! your modelling and texturing skills are very good! fantastic job on the elephant- congrats. and very inspired choice to have the godfather as the head!
I look forward to the rest.http://img347.imageshack.us/img347/5996/smileyeye26vj0az.gif

10-09-2005, 10:58 PM
good texture job:thumbsup:

Have you thourght about the post of the elephant?
maybe is should be struggling to keep its balance while beeing lifted...
that is if the trailer is tipping like the blue sketch trailer.

one more up

10-10-2005, 02:45 AM
shakes - Thanks for your nice words.

3d-empire - Thanks for your comment. I did test with the pose of the elephant, but i still need make some adjustments, epecially on the feets,is only a test. Thanks

10-10-2005, 03:46 AM
Hi, buddy. I liked the textures of the trailler, I just think you can improve that pose of the man. Maybe you can make a litle more types to fit in that trailler. Good job.

10-10-2005, 07:28 PM
Thanks Rodrigo, how i said, i did alot tests:banghead: about with the pose and this i think the better. Thanks for your comment

10-10-2005, 08:05 PM
Been gone awhile but glad to see how much progress you've made. Looking really good.

10-11-2005, 01:25 PM
You're textured trailer comes along very nice:thumbsup: . I like that you keep the same style for all your scene elements and I'm curious to see what comes next.:bounce:

http://features.cgsociety.org/challenge/entries/11/7921/7921_1129051826_medium.jpg (http://features.cgsociety.org/challenge/entries/11/7921/7921_1129051826_large.jpg)

Hi, i made some changes in my scene. This is a test composition with the elements. I was thinking about the way the strong man lifted up the cart with the elephant; i wasn't sure about this. then, i made this change.

First. The strong man holds the trailler because the little girl is in danger, while she is look at the balloon.

Second. Two nuns look to themselves and say, ''it's a miracle''.

Third. The zeppelin flying over the scene saying "hi this is an ancient scene...' hehehe.

Sorry for my bad english

10-11-2005, 09:35 PM
HammaJamma - Thanks, i'm runnig to finish this scene. Thanks for your comments

daWinky - Hi Sabrina, thanks. i made a test with the elements, to see how will be composition, but it's just a test. thanks

10-11-2005, 09:55 PM
e aí Alan! mto bonita a iluminação e a textura tb está ótima. parabéns!

10-11-2005, 10:02 PM
i like the look! a few things: i think the girl should be smaller, to add magnitude to the sitation
also, could you add more space on the left, and tilt the elephant more, as i imagine he would be leaning/ sliding that way under gravity.?
just a thought!

10-11-2005, 10:15 PM
yay, more brazilian guys here heheh. Awesome look Alan, keep rocking =D

10-11-2005, 11:58 PM
ziriguidum - Valeu, cara pelo comentário, mas ainda falta muita coisa pra fazer e essa luz ainda vou mexer. Valeu

shakes - I agree, about you said. But, i'm not sure about the size of the little girl. Maybe she have 4-5 years old and i'don't now if could smaller her, but i'll try. I also agree with you about the compositing, i think that will be better with changes. I'll make the changes and soon i'll post again, thanks for your tip. Sorry for my english

auroness - Hi Gabriel, thanks for your support dude, yeah one more brazilian. Vamos nessa!

10-12-2005, 12:26 AM
Sorry for my english

your english is just fine!!

10-12-2005, 01:18 AM
Thanks buddy, i also working this :banghead:

10-12-2005, 03:19 AM
Hi, Alan!

As I told you before, I love the nostalgic mood that you are creating here. Good choice of colors too. No doubts that it is one of my favorits. Congrats! :)

10-12-2005, 05:02 AM
This is looking fantastic. I like your ideas. Some crits: The boots look too clean. They need to be given some scuffs and stuff because otherwise they look fake. The elephant's specularity should be toned down. Elephants are normally very dry looking and the one you have here looks like it was just rubbed down with vaseline. Also, as was mentioned before, the center of the weight of the wagon should be centered over his back, otherwise, based on the laws of physics, this wagon would tip backwards off his back if held like this. I would suggest having him bent more forward and having the cage be actally on top of him - where he is under the central weight of it... kind of like the fulcrum of a teeter totter. Hope some of this helps you. I want to see this come out as best as possible!

10-12-2005, 02:11 PM
maurocor - Hi Mauro, thanks for your support and tips.

gardogg - Hi. Thanks for your tips.
• Ok, about the boots, i still need work with this. I not yet texturing.:banghead:
• I agree about the specular, an elephant don't have.
• I also agree about the position of the elephant inside the trailler, i really need adjust with this.
Ok, gardogg, thanks for your ongoing support, i hope see you again here dude, thanks

10-12-2005, 06:39 PM

Hi. One more update, i'm not sure about both the pose and the colors of the clothes. I'm thinking to do her as a red-haired little girl like the reference, but also i'm not sure hehehe about this. i accept suggestions

10-14-2005, 05:27 PM
sergageHi Sergio, thanks for your comment

10-14-2005, 06:27 PM
I think your setup is pretty good, but I have a few suggestions.

If the elephant had it's foot braced againt the bars of the cart, it would lend to some believablity. I know we are trying to show something unbelievable, but the act itself is enough for that. The mind click over to obsurd if you defy gravity too much. Maybe James can be leaning forward a little more, and looking up, while gritting his teeth.
The camera angle might be good if you shoot it from the eye-level of a child. then you could place the little girl at about the same level.

BTW great textures and models, even though james might need his hips adjusted.

10-14-2005, 08:03 PM
Great job on the nose - one of the best I've seen in a while. The eyes may be a bit too far apart. Good progress!

10-14-2005, 11:37 PM
hi denverbz
the kids face looks excellent! maybe u could try setup the scene and then see with different colours and how they match!

Hi, one more update before weekend with little changes. i'm not sure about the position of the legs, this is just a test.

10-15-2005, 05:46 AM
Good modeling so far! I think it's too early to critique the pose. It all depends on what her hands are doing. It looks good though. The only things I'm seeing wrong are the head - WAY too big. Looks like a cartoon. No offense, I'm just being honest. Also, the skirt in that picture is as short as it is because the little girl is pulling it up. In your model, the girl is not pulling her skirt up. Therefore, unlike the picture, it should not be that short. I think that as it looks right now, the girl is dressed like a prostitute. I would bring the skirt down to at least calf length, and I'm betting that the girl in the reference picture's skirt is about calf length too when it is not being pulled up for whatever reason.

Hope that helps. I hope that you don't take offense either. I only want to be a help!

10-15-2005, 06:06 AM
She looks pretty !
Great modeling, again !

10-15-2005, 08:06 AM
Great work Alan.

The pose is looking very good and the cloth fits her very well, nothing to crit.
Go on mate :bounce: :applause:

10-15-2005, 01:23 PM
Radulan Hi James, thanks for your comment. I agree with somethings that you said. About the way as James lift up the cart, i agree. Look this

Third. The zeppelin flying over the scene saying "hi this is an ancient scene...'

I thinking change the position of the elephant on the trailler, i don't like and i'm not sure about this, gardogg had a good tip about this.

About the camera angle, i liked of the your suggestion, i think that will be good.

Thanks for your comment and the tips, sorry if i didn't a good explaination about, my english is bad, i'm working too... :banghead:

gardogg - Hi Gary, well thanks for your comment. About the eyes, how i said, i could have worked more on eye area, if i have a time, maybe i still to do somethings there, i'm not sure about this.

Hmmm... about the proportions i'm not sure, i'm working the proportion with "five-heads", ideal to children beteewn 4-5 years old, but i'll look again with my references.

Prostitute? :wise: I think too early to this, no? hehehe. I not yet worked with the dress her, This just a test with the pose. Thanks for your tips dude and tthe ongoing support.

yunisirees Hi Hamid, thanks dude.About the colors, i made a little changes as a test, what do you think? Thanks

gpepper - Hi Pfeiffer, thanks for you comment

Zapan - Hi Stéphane, thanks again mate.

I increase abit more the body of the little girl, really the body was small. I also made some adjustments in the clothes. I'm wating for crits and comments please

10-15-2005, 09:38 PM
Dude, as far that you go with your work impressed me more. Very good modeling. I just want to suggest a cold color to the cloth of the girl. I think you archive a good balance with this once all the piece is full of very hot colors. Keep rocking

10-16-2005, 05:32 AM
madshooter - Hi Roshan, thanks for your comment, dude.

auroness - Hi Gabriel, thanks dude. I agree about the colors of the clothes, I really need think about this, thanks for the suggestion dude. Valeu a força

10-16-2005, 05:57 AM
Looking good. Here is a dress idea for the detail work in the skirt

Something like this would look really cute on her. Note also the shoes. Some variant of these would be nice. Good luck!

10-16-2005, 12:13 PM
good start for the girl. but she looks a old woman and not a little girl.

Good luck.

10-16-2005, 01:40 PM
Good work on the girl Alan.

The pose looks good, like "look mom, can daddy do that too?":D

I don´t agree on her looking like am old woman, I'm convinced she will turn out great (and cute)

I'll be back

10-16-2005, 01:58 PM
hiya the red color seems cool specialy since she is in danger and the red... might work it out nicely man!

10-17-2005, 02:23 AM
gardogg - wow gary, this a good reference :bounce: dude, i liked also the shoes, thanks for your support

ziriguidum - Hi Rodolfo. I understood what you said, perhaps because i not have worked on the legs, no? The legs are a bit long. Thanks for your tips dude.

3d-empire - Hi Denny, thanks mate
The pose looks good, like "look mom, can daddy do the too? hahaha, i liked, i'll put a ballon with this phrase. :bounce:

yunisirees hi, Hamid, thanks for the comments. I'm really breaking my head about the colors :banghead:. I liked of the red too, but i'm worry because the strong man, the cart and the circus are also using red:cry:,but thanks for your suggestion mate, maybe i'll use red :banghead:

10-17-2005, 12:29 PM
Hey Alan ,

Great work on the little girl model , you are doing a great job. I do see a bit of an old lady when I look at her , I think her bum sticks out too much and is a little to big. Great progress with this.

10-17-2005, 06:41 PM
mmoir Hi Mike, thanks for your comment. I made some adjusts on the little girl, what you do think?

10-17-2005, 06:46 PM
Hey Alan,

I thought I just posted here but it didn't send or something.

I do like what you have done with the skirt and I do get a picture of a little girl much clearer now. I do think the hands could be a bit to big , you may want to check that just to double check. Keep up the good work.

10-17-2005, 07:06 PM
mmoir Hi Mike, thanks for your comment. I made some adjusts on the little girl, what you do think?

mmoir - Hi Mike, you went more fast

Its a very creative concept and you are going very well. Nice composition, colors and models ..... keep going.

10-17-2005, 11:39 PM
shakes- Hi John, thanks for your support mate.

DeankovitchHi Dean, thanks for your comment. Yeah, this is my modest contribution to the contest, hehehe. I hope see you here again dude, thanks

10-18-2005, 05:30 AM
Hi Alan,

cute little girl, indeed I think there's nothing to crit, she's coming along pretty nice, the proportions are right and the pose is very convincing!!

Time for texturing?!!!:bounce:

10-18-2005, 06:23 AM
Great job on modeling the folds of the cloth. I know what a pain that is! I think the fingers on a little girl would be more puffy/fatty than knobby and boney like you have here. Maybe you can beef them up slightly - or at least take away some of the knuckle definition.

10-18-2005, 12:34 PM
Yay - the little girl is looking real good! She will be a great contrast to your strong guy - very nice
This is just getting better and better.

10-18-2005, 05:26 PM
daWinky - Hi Sabrina, thanks for your nice words my friend :bounce: I hope start with the textures this week. Thanks mate

gardogg Hi Gary. I have been look this about the fingers and I already fixed. Thanks dude

Gunilla Hi Gunilla, thanks for your comments mate.

10-19-2005, 12:01 PM
Damned... I don't see your thread before... fantastic subject, very imaginative, your universe is very pleasant... congratulations for all... the big Bob and James Molina, about the girls, she comes very nice.

Just only one thing disturb me after reading your page... and I can reassure you, it's a really minor point... the wheel of the charette, the curved rays are not very credible, especially for old wheels of this time, don't forget that they must support the weight of this weighty elephant. That'all... the rest is perfect for me... continue like that Alan... and best wishes for you

10-19-2005, 12:16 PM
ooooh,. the little girl lost her baloon,.. poor girl.

the baloon will ofcause have written words on it,. while having reflection, refraction and sss.
a most spectacular baloon,.:D
good work.

10-19-2005, 09:12 PM
Lemog - mate, i'm happy that you have been liked this stuff:bounce:. Thanks. I' admire so much both your works and the skills, not only on this contest, but on all works that you have been making. :applause: Also thanks for your post overthere on the my character WIP.

the curved rays are not very credible, especially for old wheels of this time, don't forget that they must support the weight of this weighty elephant.

Hmmm... ok. I made the wheels based on a reference that I can't find now :banghead: I don't remember what site i saw this:argh:, but was a 1940's locomotive with that wheels. I'll find it and soon will post here.

Thanks mate, for your nice words

3d-empire - ooooh,. the little girl lost her baloon,.. poor girl.
Hahahaha, good Danny. I wanna make the strongest and spectacular baloon in the word, hahaha. Thanks mate

"Yeah I can help you in finding your balloon pretty girl" well it is with denverbz he is modeling it... heheheh:scream:

Nice start on texturing dude:thumbsup:
Keep going:)

10-20-2005, 03:20 PM
The strong guy have a very good concept! I liked!

But, i don´t like about the new pose of this character in the scene. The pose of the concept is better!

Eu gosto mais da primeira pose do fortão! Essa segunda, de ele segurando pelas costas ta um pouco estranha e pouco anatômica!

Vai fundo ai que ta ficando muito legal!

10-20-2005, 06:07 PM
Great job on the texturing mate

Skin tone appears a bit reddish to me.

Keep the great work Alan :bounce: :bounce:

10-20-2005, 10:15 PM
madshooter - Thanks for your comments dude.

Raul Tabajara Hi Raul, I made a bit change on my concept. About the pose, i did change because, i saw a lot things that i'm not liked. One Example. The plate did a lot shadow over the model, the pose of the strong man was bad:banghead:. In the sketch i also liked, but when i made on 3D, i'm not liked. Thanks for your comments dude.

Zapan - Hi Stephane, thanks for your opinion. I agree and i'll fix this. Thanks my friend

10-20-2005, 10:30 PM
hiya denverbznice updates man! like the girl a lot! the bottom part of the jacket of the girl looks odd kinda too stiff! and maybe a little bit more fair skin hehheh but anyways its just a test as you mentioned !
cheers man! keep on going!

10-20-2005, 11:55 PM
I think she is leaning forward too far. It looks like she would fall forward if leaning that far forward... Good job with the textures. I'm not sure I understand the spots on the legs though...

10-21-2005, 12:48 AM
The pose is an adult pose, kids dont look like that, that is why it seems so weird the new pose. I think. You should definetly try a new one. Great work so far.

10-21-2005, 04:34 AM
Hmmm... ok. I made the wheels based on a reference that I can't find now :banghead: I don't remember what site i saw this:argh:, but was a 1940's locomotive with that wheels. I'll find it and soon will post here.
No prob Alan... just my first feeling about these wheels... not a real prob for me...

The girl comes very well... just waiting for more :bounce:

10-21-2005, 05:25 AM
Oooh, this is great , Alan:eek: ... I think everybody wants to help Jessica!! She's at once awakening the maternal and protective instinct. So she'll be a really convincing part of your composition:thumbsup: . (And she's awakening the wish in me to take some character modeling lessons from you:) ...). Though some minor crits...I'm not sure if I like these blotches on the pantyhose and the fingerknobs are a little too distinctive...and James' hair is not so good for her...But the overall look is amazing and I find nothing to crit on the pose!!! I'm waiting eagerly for an update.:bounce:

10-21-2005, 09:54 AM
She is coming to life:)

have you found fabric for the clothing yet??
Red jakket, flower dress and white stockings??

I'll be back..

10-21-2005, 03:22 PM
yunisirees - Hi Hamid, I agree and i'll fixed this. About the skin, i'm not satisfied, i'll to do on the skin again. Thanks mate.

gardogg Hi, Gary. I did a few tests on the scene with pose and looks to me good, but i'll do some tests again:banghead:. Thansks dude.

danielkenobi Hi Daniel, thanks dude. Adult pose?:hmm: I'm not sure about this. But i'll see my references again. Thanks

Lemog - Hi Laurent, thanks again mate. I broking my head on the hair her. :banghead: Thanks my friend

daWinky - Hi Sabrina, thanks for your niiiice words mate.
