Here is the very first image related to the futuristic (or modern if we consider it the present time) history lesson.
In the sessions the students are eager to travel throughout the time (virtually) and watch everything closely. But no interference chance.
I plan to paint a lesson for history and people watching a field battle. Would not it spectacular?

This is also great idea. This chalenge is so powerfull. So much for inspiration. Who is going to be in the timemachine - teacher with her/his class? What about historic event - what is going to be the subject of lesson?

Thanks a lot. Well not decided strictly but an old historian with some university students possibly. Event in my mind is a field battle. A 17th or 18th century battle is good for that i think.

You are ambitious! 2 entries into the challenge = WOW. This one looks cool too. It has potential...

hey, looking forward to seeing some wip images of yours. should be interesting and inspiring for my 3d entry :)

This is the second concept for the 2D step of the challenge. That is more suitable for a striking view. Maybe there will be a real "spectacular" moment.
I tried to draw a futuristic ball game moment. Something like football, something like handball and rugby, something like basketball and wrestling and ummmm... nothing like tennis :))

A sketch for the focused character's appearance with basic painting.

i hope i found the right translation :)
anyway, a pity you`re not following your initial idea. i`d have liked to see something similar to my concept. but the new one is good, too. probably better suited for spectacular stuff!!
EDIT: btw, i like that sports outfit!

Here you see my line art. Not painted. Just hand drawing and scanned. Not cleaned yet. But it gives the idea of the scene, overall at all.

I like the concept a lot. I can't believe no-one else thought of super-heroes... Well, maybe they're not superheroes, just guys in tights. But perhaps they should be more super-horoic! Your sigle guy that you drew above - the one that you're also using as your avatar - look a lot more heroic and muscular than any of the guys in the arena. Try pushing them further, exaggerating more...!

Further on coloring phase. From now on i think i must find real coloring schemes for the teams outfits. Soon i hope.

colors are coming out nice, it's little to light for me, I think needs more contrast, but I don't think you are even close to be done, looking good :)

Hey man, just wanted to stop by and see what you had planned for your 2D challenge. :wavey: This is a really great concept and the costume designs are wild. It sort of reminds me of Florentine football (http://www.terraditoscana.com/default.aspx?lpg=travelog_storie&obj=petrelli_calciocostume), which is a good thing, that is a wild sport! Expect me to check back soon!
