nice progress... Im for the red version, seems more spectacular to me. if that counts :) angle and destruction is great as well, lots of dynamic and power in the image, and the composition works as well.. all the lines lead to the crash, the main point in the picture.

BaronImpossible
09 September 2005, 09:21 AM
The first one, obviously! :) Love it, great technique. Perhaps the truck actually lifting off the road and flying into the camera would make it more dynamic?

PatrickJensen
09 September 2005, 04:07 PM
Tolgahan!

It's great to see you already sketching away. I like the derby idea too...that poor taxi! Have you ever played any of the Burnout games? I think you might enjoy them very much, heh.

Anyway, I'm liking the sketches. Personally, I favor the 1st one in your three angle post. I like how the taxi has more of an angle from the blow, and it feels like the semi got a little jolt and it's front end popped in the air a little. After thinking about it, having the semi on the ground like you have in the latest, unless you add some blur or effects, the sense of speed might be kind of lost and the car will look like it just ran into the fender, heh. So popping up that semi might sell the idea of a collision better.

Just a thought. And I love the energy so far in your sketches. Best of luck as you continue working!

- Patrick

Looking good, Tolga! Glad to see you back, too!

For what it's worth, I prefer the red composition to the yellow one. Partially because the red is more dramatic. But also because the ground isn't red: The piece is less monochromatic and reads better. Good luck with it!

aoisabaku
09 September 2005, 11:32 AM
Though red might feel a bit more "generic" in the sense that end of the world pics like this usually have a red theme, it just feels so much more powerful than the yellow one. I'm sure that once the pic moves along, other colors will make it in to give it a super wow feeling, since it's already wow. :)

I hope you stick with your last sketches, they seem more original then the crash and the view you have given us is truely spectacular and seems like it will effect the future (if it where to happen) and I think that fits the topic perfectly. This is just my opinion about it though, maybe you see it differently. Hope you decide on whatever you feel comfortable with.

Hey Tolga, it looks cool!

I'm not 100% sure what's going on in the pic though ... there's a city on each side, a waterway that's having it's water pushed back revealing debris at the bottom. That big foreground element in the sky ... not sure if it's stationary and sort of linked to the bridge thing, or if it's a huge spaceship that's breached the atmosphere and only just managed to pull up and avoid crashing?

Undeniably an interesting composition though, lots of potential!

Hello Tolga!!
feeling a bit like Speaky and can't see for a 100% what's going on,but it seems total chaos and it rocks!makes us curious what wil happen.
Liked the carcrash 2, although I think the camera was a bit to close to the action.
The tides really rocked :bounce: and i think there was a lot of potential in this concept with upper and downtown's(why not some kind a revolution from the downtown filled with the poor to the up town, just brainstorming on what i just saw,hi,hi)
Anyway, great skills you got there and I really liked your work in the last contests and I sure be'll hanging around here!!!
Keep on rocking and have fun!!!

Some of the things are not clear due it is sketch. What I want to do is; there is a ship enter the atmosphere then falls down. It goes over the city while falling down. Crashes the high-rise buildings then goes over the water. Water affected from the ship because it so huge. When water drew back an old city comes out through inside of the water.

Instantly sold on the "old city uncovered underneath the water" part. Truly spectacular idea!
I'm curious how you're going to show the "coming in through the atmophere" part - if something that big is that close to the ground coming in through the atmosphere, I think everything in a 20 mile radius would already be blown away, but I'm not too sure how much realism you're trying to get in that sense (not really important but I had to find some critism here ;)).
Great job man!

I'm sure that the use of shadows / lights could draw the viewer into specific details. Maybe some simulated depth of field could help bring out the scale of the view?

It's looking very dynamic and impressive. I'm not sure what's going on (sorry, my connection's too slow to read through all the pages!) but I'm sure that'll become obvious later. One thing - the colours are good but they are very similar, it's almost like a duotone. I sometimes get criticised for using very limited palettes too. I think you need some more variation.

Last concept is just stuning! Awesome water flow and action and teror of ustopable tide. Awesome. Thou I dont know if i see it the way you paint it. I see habitat platform on a sea being destroid by gigatic wave. I would add a rescue chopter/hoovercraft and a lot of debree from platform, but that just me...

Its amazing how easyly you making greate atmosphere with few brush strokes... years of practise and a lot of talent.
