How do you do a cartoon render, without changing any material settings. Is there a rendering tutorial somewhere that I could follow.

I want to toon render Bender, but I don't know how to do It.

click on the link to understand.

3dsmax has an ink and paint material, Mentalray also has a shader (can't remember the name) which is designed for toon renderings. Do a search on the forum, also check the lighting and rendering forum too, as I'm sure you find some existing helpful discussion.

Hey Red,

Ian is right about the Ink 'n Paint materials; however, if you own any 3rd party renderers, many of them ship with in-house toon renderers. For example, Brazil's toon renderer was used to render the Spongebog Squarepants movie. There is also FinalToon and Vray Toon, which is an effect under the Environment and Effects panel.
