View Full Version : WIP - Girl in the woods

I had this idea of a girl living in the woods with his pet bear. The picture is from a moment they discover some rare plant that's growing there. I'd like to hear your comments and suggestions of the overall composition and colors of the thumbnail scetch before I start the drawing process of the larger and more detailed version.

Ok you said this was just a thumbnail, but it's kinda hard too see anything at all, so a bigger version would be a good idea. It looks promising.

I agree. It looks very promising, but a larger version might be easier to comment on. :)
Can't wait to see the progress on it!

Ok, here's some progress. I resized the thumbnail and started to add detail to the girl. I'm going to add more contrast to the bear and the trees. Until that, the girl may seem to have a bit too much light shining on her.

I like the sort of tunnel effect, where the viewer is in the dark and the girl is in the light. And there's a good depth of field effect there too. Keep it up

I rendered some detail on the bear, the flower and the tree trunks. Also added more trees to the background to enhance the depth a bit more.
EDIT: Just realized those tree trunks furthest away seem to be floating above horizon line. I'll fix those to the next update.

Here's the latest progress:
looks pretty cool so far :) her right arm holding the stick is a bit thicker compared to the other one and a bit too long i think ... you might thin it a little

And a bit more before going to bed..

I think it's looking really good. A couple things look funny to me though. The stomach looks like it's facing us, when it seems like it should be angled slightly to the left. Her left arm also looks a bit awkward. I think maybe the elbow is too high so it looks like she is reaching forward more than she is reaching for something on the ground..

I think I'm finished. Thank you all for your comments!
