View Full Version : ls bone

09 September 2005, 06:12 AM
This may be a simple question, but I want to select the very top bone at the start of my hierarchy. I don't know the bone name, but I know that there is just one hierarchy of bones in my scene and I'd like to find the name of the one on the very top.

Any ideas MELanolians?

string $allTopNodes [] = `ls -assemblies`;
string $topJoints [] = `ls -type "joint" $allTopNodes`;

This will first select all the objects in your scene which are att the top of hierarchies, then from those it will select only the joints.
