View Full Version : Exotique entry?

So I've decided to submit some work for Exotique.
I took a character from some older work of mine (some of you might remember this one) and decided to take a close-up of the girl and retouch it.
I would like some input from you guys, can you spot some serious flaws? (offcourse there's still a lot of work in it) and do you have suggestions on how to make the piece more interesting?
Offcourse any kind of crit and comments are welcome, thanx:)
Ow and another thing, I really can't come up with a fitting title hehe so...

I think there are some anatomical issues - check and double check the primary relatinships of the figure (the neck does not appear to be connected to the torso correctly)
Your lighting seems to be getting a little out of control (left hand cheek?).
I think with a work of such serious ambition, it is important not to let anything get out of control at any stage.
I think your character has some very nice charisma - Good Luck!!! and every success!

So I tried to correct some things (neck still needs a lot of work), a little retouching of the lighting, moved her lefteye a little to the left and made her mouth smaller.
While I was painting I was listening to the album of 'the subways' and the song 'rock & roll queen' inspired me to do a full-shot instead of a medium-shot and have the girl playing a guitar, thought that would make the piece more interesting.
What do you guys think?

I wanted to show what I've done with the girl's hair so far and I would love to hear what you guys think of it :)

The colour's pretty much right... you should add some more thin strands and also maybe, maybe I stress, a little brighter strands.
