View Full Version : Questions regarding bones and weightmaps

Hi, I was wondering:
1) I have this dino modell and iīve rigged it but when I rotate the head bones, the teeth strecthes, why is that and how do I fix it? I tried making a weightmap for the head but when I use it the teeth donīt move at all (and it results in even more stretching).
2) I also have another model of a man and when I i.e. rotate the chest bone, the arm follows but not the hand, this is after I made a weightmap for only the arm (and all of its bones). Why must I also make a weightmap for the hand in order to get this to work?
If I donīt have any weightmaps it works pretty good but I want to know this.

Be sure to check "Use Weight Map Only" and "Weight Normalization"
Put the Falloff type to "Inverse Distance ^128"
(I'm no expert on it though, I usually check and uncheck and config till it all works.)
Try these 2 web sites. I think the should answer most of your questions.
