this is my first good looking sketch and now I need some help. In the moment I have problems with the hands. They look not so good for me...

Please, help me!

First, you should probably post an image of the work rather than the Photoshop file. Here is a good howto on posting images:

Juhuu, thank you Benita!!:bounce:

I`ve got it! Sorry, I am new here.

This is a very nice start. I like the lighting you have on the figure. She really looks buffed for a woman. Keep going, but before you get to far in details develop the entire painting. Think about your background, the complete figure, composition, color scheme and all the other elements in the picture and start putting the rough sketches so that you can get a feel for the entire painting. I really like your start!

Thank you Euphrosyne! Mmhh, the background....maybe a simple bg. I am a beginner :). (and sorry for my bad english)

Nice start! I would focus on values and the drawing of it more than the painting. :)

Thank you!!!:)

I have no idea about the bg. I choose this one. Mmhh, must think about it. Any ideas?

This is really looking nice. Anytime Rebbecak gives you advise pay close attention she's good. Anyway when you feel that you are ready to start a bg, one thing that you can do is start making up stories about your character and then a background or setting will probably come to mind. Keep going she looks great.

Thank you all!:)

Iam painting her dress at the moment.

Rebeccak, what do you mean about "value"? :shrug:Sorry, I dont understand, because my english isnt so good.

Ill think about the bg later.

value means "wertigkeit, hell/dunkel..."
try converting the image into grayscales then its easier to check the placement of the values.. :)

08-24-2005, 02:17 PM
value means "wertigkeit, hell/dunkel..."

well, that sure cleared it up

Hello *dunkelgold*, *squibitt* and *tuzz*:)!

Its so funny here, hahaha.

Thank you for the translation!!! Mmmhh, grayscales...(graustufen?);). O.k., Ill check it out.

Ive tried to paint the dress and now I need some feedback.

hey that looks really nice BUT the lower left side looks like liquid?
thats because of the refraction its called in 3d i guess...the yellow color shining on the dress so strong....but else i really like it :)

i really would like to know what you think the dress AND the lady look from the front...and i can really imagine a story to this lady, or at least picture imagine a place where she belongs. but i will not influence you here, figure that out yourself :D but u prolly already have

thank you *tuzz*!!! Ill change it.

Yes, the story...I have an idea. Ill work on it.:arteest:

Hi there!
I think theres too much light on the left shoulder... maybe change it to get a more realistic look...

Thank you Martyrer!:)
Yes, I have problems with light and shadow. But I work on it.

You can see that I have changed the image complete, now she stood on the left side. She became a half human and animal, a "desert child".
Shes standing in the desert, staring at the sea. Dreaming about the wide world...

The image is not complete, anyway thank you all for helping me! (Thank you *dunkelgold* for inspiring me)

Iam happy for any feedback.

She became more hair :D! Very hairy.

08-25-2005, 10:01 PM
Very hairy. haha! :D
sweet colorscheme! and really nice image :) *loves humanimals*
one suggestion: first i couldnt understand what is going on with her tail.. there should be a shadow where its coming out of the dress..
(and the belt could need more work...)
- but its coming a long very nice! keep going!
