What is the purpose of the "blue only" on a NTSC monitor ?

I'm not 100% sure (I can't remember exactly, I learned it in school a few years ago), but it has something to do with testing either the luminance values or colour of a professional ntsc monitor. usually they come with a pack of transparent gel's that you use with the monitor and check the similarities (or lack thereof). Once again not 100% sure, but I think it's pretty close. I hope this helps

It's for monitor colour Calibration..... you set up the blue's inorder to make sure all your colours are correct.... The blue is only a visual representation of the colours. You match the blue chips from bottom to top. This assures you that your NTSC monitor is colour calibrated.
Hope this Helps
