View Full Version : Geometry SetUP

I have created a biped model using Sub D's using multiple levels etc..
Due to creasing etc not being supported in Mental Ray I've decided to convert to Poly's, what is the best way to do it?

So far I've been making sure that the lowest level vertices spread throughout the model so that I get an equal mesh instead of some being more definded than others. Then converting to Poly's.
The problem I get is I think I end up with far too many poly faces.

If someone can suggest a final poly count ie. between 10,000 and 40,000 rather than something big like 100,000 that would help me alot.

Also if you have any tried and tested workflows for modeling in Subs then converting to Poly's, could you share them?
