Or you just set fire to someone, you crazy immolating freak! You can see the guy writhing in agony. Slowly, I'll admit...

wow, that's some great lookin' fire!

07-26-2005, 06:12 PM
Definitely excellent! Howard, you should market a package of your presets & scenes!

Wow that looks great! Are there any tutorials on how to do this sort of stuff?

I bet Howard will tell us how he did this. If he doesn't...well, that would be pretty nasty...:)

Very good Howard. That's maybe the best HV fire I've seen. :)

I know Howard personally.....http://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon6.gif

Just playin good stuff mang. Where's the smoke?

07-27-2005, 08:21 PM
As everybody else is just telling you how great it looks (and it does), I'll take the burden upon my shoulders to tell you that the edge of the fire looks a bit to smoky. The reason might be that the HV don't blend any longer, so the flame is torn apart. Otherwise pretty nice.

dammit pancho! why you gotta go and raise the bar?

07-28-2005, 11:00 AM
Nice movements, very realistic
Well done !
But is it possible to make the fire a little sharper ?

Thanks gents! :bounce: :
Hey VBK! How are ya! :)
Thanks Mike!
btw, I dont know who that Paul k. guy is!? :D

Its Sprites comped in AE, just quickly using an Add Layer...Ill play with it for the final and try to make it less smoky, sharper...I dont think the singer wants any smoke, just wants to get englufed by flames while hes jamming kinda like Johnny Storm....but of course you know Im going to have to burn something else now
I quickly tracked the video in LW, thats why the head isnt so great....just moved and rotated emitters every few frames...

Going to be working on the video later this week, will have a final up next week! :)

Chock this up as another one for the DVD eh?
In the meantime...grab the fire preset from Newtek and tweak the hell out of it, use it as a starting point...play with it in Viper and do a few tests. tweak the colors, move that gradient, see what it does...change the Hypertexture Turbulence and see what each does....learn :)...youll get the hang of it.
Use winds to swirl and move particles...dont just blow them out of an emitter and hope it looks pretty....do a little extra work and make them move like you want them to! :)
Viper is your friend! Hope to see Fprime my friend soon! :)
