View Full Version : Arrays within arrays

Apparently MEL isn't capable of holding array values within an array. I'm trying to store the global position of all the vertices of a model, into an array so i can compare and match it to another (for skin weight transfer based of vert global pos rather than vert number).
Does anyone have a suggestion of another way to do this?

One way you could split that into the needed ammount of arrays, like PositionArray[] splits to PositionX[] PositionY[] PositionZ[] and use that, or you can create a dummy object, or use one you're working on and add there a compound attrubute, float 3 array for example, array of 3 floats. And set the values for the array and read them. You can store some values this way and you can delete the array when you don't need it anymore.

Yeah, i was thinking about using multiple Arrays, but a compound attribute is interesting. I'll check it out, thanks :)
