How can I copy all of weight maps from one object to another object ( same object and all point are same order number but only difference shape ) Thank you.

Get the object with the weighmaps and apply the background to morph, with the object without weightmaps as the background.

Ligue, this is true ONLY when the point_order of the two geometries is the same.
Otherwise you will get a sh#t result.

Weights are stored on a per-vertex fashion.

There are 2 plugins on flay that allow Copy-Pasting of weights.
Also there are some plugins that Load/Save Weights.

Panikos, thanks for the heads up, might need it in the future. :)

Threshold Weight Map Mirror & Copy (Free)

I am also having same problem of copying weightmap, I am very new to this... so I dont understand what you mean...

I am doing the tutorial from digiwonk character rigging(zombie), but on lesson10pt4, this video somehow stopped at 2min+ , seem like this video is incomplete for some reason... now I am stuck here, can anyone tell me how to copy or mirror weight map from right to left, and without any plugin... help me please...

Big thanks

You can uses symmetry and select by map

with symmetry on select the weight map on the right side
( you should also select the points on the left due to symmetry being on )
now turn symmerty off deselect the points on the right side and your left with the left side points Now create you weight map.:applause:

Simple but it works , there are afew other ways
but this one comes to mind first

Thanks T4D, I will try that now!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Hi T4D,

Its working... but kind of slow because have to re-apply all the new weight value, wondering possible to just copy/mirror weight map and paste it on other side?

you should only need to mirror your leg weight maps

the all the upper body can uses the same weight map
eg - both arms have the same weight map, both pointer fingers have the same weight map etc.

so there's no need to have a left and a right
just have big one Arms map, finger 1 map finger 2 map etc

I would normally just have one big upper body weight map
belly chest arms hands as one ( having symmetry on while you create them )
one for each finger one for the neck and one for the head and that's it

as and if i see problem i break it down more from there.

but you still need a Left and a right leg weight map most of the time the bone positon do effect the other leg so weight maps save reposing the model in modeler with the leg spread out and you keep a nice default pose for rigging and animating
