View Full Version : WIP: Female Vampire Hunter

This is a character I been working on for my school portfolio. It is bascilly inspired by Jessica Biel in Blade 3. Right now she is at 5000ish polycounts. I still need to model the bow for her as well as some small accessories. Hopefully I can start texturing her this weekend.

Any C&C is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for viewing.

Overall I think its looking pretty good. :applause:

My crits are the arms seem just a bit too long and the area on the back of her legs.

If it's supposed to be wrinkles in the pants (not caused by the back of her knee) would you need to do that with geometry or could you add that detail with a texture (it just seems like such a little wrinkle to add it with geometry)? Also how will the leg bend?

If it's supposed to be the back of the knee, it seems kind of high to me.

Can't wait to see your textures.

her mouth seems too small to me, like she is eatin a lemon or something. I really like the folds at the bottom of her pants, maybe some slight folding along the backs to match? not as extreme of course. nice job!

Hi guys, here is the update of the model, I'm about 80% done with the texture, as you can see the alpha for the hair is not finish yet and it is the main part I'm having trouble right now to come up with a realistic hair alpha, so if you know any tips or tutorials on the net please let me know. I'm not really familiar with rendering so I just did two quick test render, sorry if the image is not clear enough. I'm really slow with texturing but it is getting there I hope :) Right now I'm working on a male soldier and I will post the wires as soon as I'm done.

Again any c&c is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for viewing :)

I like the texture on the pants, but i think see seems a little to nice, to be a hard core vampire hunter, her shoes looks a little flat at the end, but thats maybe just me.

Hey that looks cool. Just the thing on the left arm looks wired.

thx for crits guys,

kOmoo: if you can post a pic of what kind of shoes you have in mind that would be really great :)

BananaSalat: that's actually a long sleeve glove she has on her left arm, but I think it does look kind of fake, I will try to fix that.

and guys I'm really having major problem with coming up a realistic hair alpha channel for the hair on the pony tail tips so if you guys have any tips or turtorial and you don't mind sharing, please do

again thanks for viewing, and if you have any c&c for this model please don't hesitate to tell.

Good texture work on the legs, though i cant really make out wether thats hair on the back of her head, or some kind of indian feather head-dress!

She looks a lot like jessica alba - was this intentional?

you gonna pose her next?

thanks, yeah I did use Alba's photo for the head, however I thought I altered the shape so much that i doesn't look like her anymore but I guess it is not a bad thing anyway :) and you are actually the only one that noticed she looks like Alba  Yeah I'm going to rig her after I finish the texture including facial rigging.

Now that you pointed it out, the thing on the back of her head does look like the feather thingy, I guess I will need to do someting about it.

Thanks guys, keep the crits coming :)

Hey man, great start- not sure if this has been mentioned yet or not, but something about the way the shoulders slope into the upper arm seems a bit off- maybe a little too dramatic. Also there is something going on where the collar bone is, but nothing a little texture magic wouldn't fix.

Aside from that, awesome job! Texture on the jeans look incredible (I especially like the small rip in the knee). She DOES look a little too nice to be a vampire hunter, but so did Jessica Biel. BTW, you compared your model to both Jessica Biel and Jessica Alba, who look entirely different from each other! Which is it?? :)

Keep up the good work...
