View Full Version : [Characte]Black Rider - lowpoly
>>>Scroll down for tetxured version<<<
I am bit on a lowpoly trip at the moment, here is a comic version of a LOTR Black Rider. It's not finished yet, I want to achieve a slightly meaner look and the coat isn't perfect yet.
Feel free to post comments.
If anyone is interested here's my modelsheet (http://roawr.com/05/nazgul.jpg) (I am not that good at sketching)

haha! adorable! I think he could use some tri strips so you can add some alpha-mapped tatters to him, the black riders seem to be all about big tattered cloaks. can't wait to see the texture!

I like it, but at the moment it doesn't say Black Rider to me, it seems a little, i dunno, Scooby-Do? as a comic version i mean, maybe that'll change with a texture.
love the modelsheet though

Lookin really cool. if you're going for a meaner more realistic look you could scale down the head/hood a lot though. The arms would have to be a bit thinner if you did that as well. I'm pretty sure that would help.
edit: woops sorry I completely missed how you said you wanted it to be a comic version :D Looks perfect then.
Thanks for the replies, I'll post an updated version today. As for the smaller hood, I want to have a comic look so I don't really want to scale down the head.
Well it's more or less finished now, I didn't add any alpha mapped planes but I like it the way it is. Though it resembles more a monk than a black rider but with the tetxure i can change that a bit.
Texture map (not that efficient). I don't know if 256x256 is too big for that polycount. I aim for a PSP like system maybe I should use 2x128x128.
Finally working on a texture. It is not that clean but still my first attempt at drawing cloth:
Edit: texture size is 256x256

i think it looks ok, but i kinda have to squint to make anything out. could you posta bigger image?

Looking really good.
I added a slight brownish tint to the cloth i think it looks better than plain black but i might desaturate it.
