OH GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE :argh:
Well I havent got any thumbnails, but these are real quick poses and timing tests I knocked out for the first half of the sound.
I'm still acting out the doc's frantic extrovert way of acting, and trying to decide what he's being busy on, causing mcfly to have just run over to him. Maybe I should include the last few steps of MCfly's running to actually show why he's out of breath.
Started blocking out a bit of the Doc now to see how it looks.
The Doc pulls out 2 pieces of radioactive rubble from the barrel and chooses one, throwing the other away. I want this to be sort of subtle while the other guy talks, I dunno if that has worked. His glasses will be wonky, which he will correct when he says "see it" (thats the next pose i havent added). In fact all of the Doc's poses are a first pass, so there's a lot of timing and weight i will correct soon.
The barrel will also squash/stretch to his weight being on it, but i dont want to overdo that. Imagine it's some sort of flexible sturdy plastic, like a plastic compost bin or something similar.
Anyway yeah.. Too boring? Too confusing? let me know :)

thumbnails and sketches of the whole idea would be nice :-D
Sorry, no thumbs. I tried drawing a few but they just didnt make sense to me, so I tested more of the poses out inside xsi directly. This way I could play with timing at the same time.
Here's the rest of the simple blocking, I should be able to speed up animating this now. It's always the idea/acting choices that take me so long to go ahead with.

not a bad start, yah the begining all ways takes the longest. its kinda funny seeing yours and how similar our endings with doc are. still different but funny none the less. if you take a look at my thumbs i posted yestarday you'll see what i mean. guess great minds think alike.keep up the work
looks good tuna...maybe you could add some linear keys for breathing...also...there's a real lack of weight for "marty" in the beginning...you could really push some of the poses and add a bit more weight to him. I really like how you have doc grabbing at marty...looking good:)
Cheers, Ryan :) Tomorrow, I will make it my sole duty to push this animation further and to add breakdowns. Things like the face and breathing, I prefer to do these after I've converted to spline, so I can work more straight ahead with them. Too many breakdowns and poses just confuse me later on when converting and fixing splines and it actually takes me a lot longer to do it that way.. Don't mind my strange workflow :)

I'm really liking the part where marty leans his head back in the beginning, Cool.
One suggestion would be that when the Doc grabs marty and pulls him close that you have some tension and release from Doc, right now he just stands still after pulling in marty who seems to have the same body weight as him.

Looks so nice when the doc pulls Marty over, really nice so far! Also the nice detail when the doc touches his glasses, brilliant!

Ænvil, good idea about the pull. I altered the poses a *little* bit for the pull, hopefully to make the blue guy more off balance to his right (so the doc shouldnt need to be a muscle man to pull him), but we'll see if that works when i get to it in the animation. I'll definately add more to them two sort of crashing into each other for the grasp. Thanks!
Here's an update, and also a start on working on the beginningof the animation of Marty. Lots of parts havent been worked on, like hands, some arcs and swings, face, breathing, all sorts of things really, but you can see where i'm going with the general thing.
Another small progress update. Still havent touched a lot of things (face, breathing, fingers, converting some things from linear etc). I'm about to tackle the grab and hug.
Nearing the end. Still all sorts of things to fix, let's see if I'll have time considering the deadline was a few days ago :) Got to animate the faces yet.
