View Full Version : Max5 - Weird but ineresting wrist rig

Hi Everyone!,

Ive been trying for a while now to sort out a rigging solution for the wrist, Iv'e seen a few different methods but none that are really foolproof to animate with....

Jordy (a mate of mine from work) and I have been working on this sort of weird but interesting solution that I thought some of you may be interested in, so here it is!

Firstly - Things you should know -

1. Grab the red thingy to move the Hand
2. This file is for max 5
3. Whales actually have tiny little legs tucked inside thier bodys!

This is only really in test stages so any input would be great

Oh and kiboost, I have added a bit of a test bone for helping the shoulder so check it out!

The rotation isn't progressive along the forearm, it's not anatomicelly natural I think

yeah but the influence in the wrist spreads up from the hand and that bone on the end twists with the hand but doesn't take any other rotation...
So I guess the progressive thing is the skinning up the arm.

It still has problems though..

Hey, I only a MAX4 guy, but this all still sounds very interesting. Could you post up some images?
