View Full Version : best 3D program to import to after effects

I need to create some 3D text objects and import them into after effects so that I can animate them in the 3D environment - along with various other objects.

Whats the best 3D program to use to create the objects, and is it true that I will need to upgrade to after effects 6.5 pro in order to do this?

Cinema 4d hands on, since it export after effects project files ready to open ready with multiple passes and working lights. The units are also the same in C4d and afx.

Other than that you got 3d text plugins directly for Afx, like invigorator pro.

I've tried invigorator po and its not really what I'm after.

So ill give Cinema 4D a go.

I agree with you! Invigorator is not very good, I'll try Cinema 4D!

I use Lightwave. No problems so far. It's layout program is really good with alpha channels. If you have Oxygen Network check out the chow Nice Package, I modeled and animated some of those objects with Lightwave. Some of the objects are just photos.
