OK i made a flash tut on Pfrag disolving an object it is 25 Mb zipped

At the end i wanted to show some more examples of pfragment but i thought i had paused the recording when in fact i was recording and vis versa.. so the tut ends a bit abruptly

Anyway the last example with a sphere uses a deflector plane for the floor and the event output of the deflector node is set to trigger the pfragment of the sphere, i have cascading pfrags themseleves being fragged for extra giggles

I will add some scene files later when i have a bit more time

This is great. I'm actually not uptight that you went so blazingly fast because it got me up to rigging a TP setup a little more instinctively. It was, all in :D

As an extension I'm trying to set it up so that upon fragmentation, the particles take on another shape (a simple bird rig in my example). Srek has a 'change shape on trigger' file that he provided on the Cow awhile back, and I've used that to no effect. Nothing appears. At 3:30 am I'm sure I've skipped something quite simple in a preset somewhere. Any ideas?

Oops, am I supposed to reply here or in the main forum?

(On a little side dual 800mhz G4 at my workplace. Self-shadows in Pyro are really render-hogs!)

An egg fragmenting into a flock of black birds. The major setups involved are
-Srek's preset to change particle shape upon some trigger event (not sure if it's necessary)
-Srek's preset 'Move along spline' aka 'Follow Spline' which is tweaky as all get-out.
-A Particle Collision preset
-Particle alignment to travel direction

The BIG PROBLEM here is that my birds' wing-flap animation isn't working. I've tried bones (simple rotation of one bone), bend deformers, and this non-solution, which is me getting frustrated and tearing the wings off and PSR-ing their shards. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I can provide the scene file.

you need to PLA a single bird flapping then make it a partcle

I discovered the problem with the birds not animating. It was the shape-change setup. I removed it, worked out the simple way to make the shape change from polys to birds, and suddenly the animation works. I PLA'd the flapping but I'm sure PSR and morph would work also. The shape change I exectuted simply by creating a new particle group after the fragmentation and assigning my bird shape to it. Much simpler.

The shape-change tp setup is useful for other things I'm sure.

First of all, I must thank paulselhi for the wonderful video tutorial he has posted.
I like the stills of your animation, but I am a beginner so I have no idea how to go about doing it. Will you be able to do a tutorial video like paulselhi?
