View Full Version : quick and dirty way to animate a propeller

Hey people... ddjix is back. Great idea, this forum... OK. I am animating a 1940 war plane. I need a quick way to animate the propeller so i get the fuzzy effect we all see on real planes. Don't wanna spend too much time in it, so any tips would be nice.

hm either you use a real propeller and animate it via keyframes (you only have to type in the rotation values... say frame 1 rotation = 0 , frame 2 rotation = 360 .. err.. maybe frame 3 :D

then you'd have to use motion blur

or you might render that propeller (front view) in one frame and then in photoshop you might blur it and shape it etc.. then you might use it as adecal for a poly .. then you might rotate this poly (slowly) and the effect might look pretty good.. but I'm not sure about this technique...

I hope the above makes sense to you
