View Full Version : Physics Tools and NovodeX Integration

06 June 2005, 08:58 PM

I'm an applications engineer with Ageia and I have been developing tools and exporters intended for game developers to build physically enabled models and have them work inside their game. I've also been integrating the NovodeX engine into 3DS Max which lets the artist use physics inside the Max environment.

The work is still in development, but if there are any technially minded artists out there with the patience for alpha software then feel free to check out: (

(note this is a temporary location, supposedly this will be moved to ( eventually)

Any feedback and suggestions to steer this development are most welcome.

The plugin was compiled for version 7 of 3dsmax.
But there may be system compatability issues as well. Ive only tested XP sp2.

Someone did experience the following:

I just tried it out, and get this error in the listener.
"warning: unable to call function pml.setstream from pmlplugin.dlm"

This likely means that the plugin failed to load. for some reason.
Hopefully the ascii-based pml/collada export which is implemented only in the maxscript sections will continue to work for you and you can test things in the viewer.

If things are causing you grief right now, then delete 3dsmax7/scripts/startup/
