Iím relatively new to 3D and have a project to recreate an Iron Age settlement in Maya in as much detail as possible. I have started reading round the subject of texturing, rendering and environmental design (of which I have found little everyone seems to want to do characters or carsÖ ho hum!).
Baking textures and shadows from hi-res models and applying them to low-res models also simulating global lighting and HDRI are all areas I am trying to find more information on.
Any help, advice or links to tutorial and papers on these or related topic would be much appreciated.
