View Full Version : an image proccessing software with programming?

hi all ...

am Maya Character TD .. but this time i would like to experince the image proccessing .. and i would like to get an advice about simple software/language to :

read pixles bitmap rgb
write pixles rgb
fill (if possible..but i can manage that)

i dont want to install visual C now.. so if there is small nice language or software .. that would be great.

Hi Firas,

You might consider either Image Magick ( or Graphics Magick ( They're both open source and both have interfaces to several programming languages.

I think Python Image Library (PIL) is pretty good if you want to use a scripting language - especially if you use it with the scnentific modules.

I've found DevIL ( to be a good library for my own work. It acts a lot like OpenGL for images.

You may want to try ImageJ, based on Java..., although I would consider it rather an image processing learning tool (having an image processing course myself right now :) )
