View Full Version : ambient with a MR dgs shader

Is there anyway to create an ambient connection with a dgs material as I need blurry reflection and ambience and lack maya 6.0 (have 5.0). I would appreciate any information

Use a mib_color_mix. Set Color_base to what you want the ambient colour to be, plug the DGS into Color_0 and set Mode_0 to 2 (add), then connect mib_color_mix.message to dgs_materialSG.miMaterialShader.

If you need more info let me know. Check the docs (Maya\devkit\mentalray\docs\gettingStarted) and look at Sample Compositing for more information about using a color_mix.
