View Full Version : Cogs Cloud Concepts

Hi all,

This is only my second post to this forum (I need 2 to enable an avatar :)) but it was about time I started contributing to this excellent forum. I usually hang about and post to the ElYsiun forum but there is a high calibre of work here that I should pay homage to.

Over the last year I have been working on an animated feature called 'COG'. I am using Blender as my main development tool along with several other tools such as Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere. However the predominant application is Blender.

I have attempted over the time to share any techniques, discoveries, or mistakes, so that all users of Blender can benefit. Cog is a work in progress and will take several years to complete so showing its deconstruction will help keep my and hopefully your interest in the project until it is completed.

I already have a wide range of concept work published on my website ( to share with all Blender users. Occasionally I would like to publish here, and the ElYsiun forums, with new developments or items of interest. If you feel this would be of value?

To kick things off I have been working on quite an FX complex sequence that has required turbulent and spatial storm clouds.

There is also a concept animation available. ****EDIT: NOW WITH SOUND****

Well I hope you find my project of interest.

I liked de FX you created for the clouds.
And your web site is pretty interesting. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

I'm quite amazed by those clouds, too! The lightning could flash more quickly (like 3 frame spurts), but other than that it looks like something done in a high-end package. Nice job!
