"Star Trek versus Star Wars "
Star Trek versus Star Wars – Keep it clean. We just want to make light of all the ST vs SW threads and this is just a fun way to visualize that debate.
We will try to post one of these topics once a day for your enjoyment.
These are the rules:
* Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
* RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
* They can be done on any medium.
* If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
* Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
* The topics will be posted every day between 10:00 - 12:00 am US EST.
* The artist also has to post total length of time it took (Thanks Clanger for the idea) and program used.
* Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
* Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
* The topics will be picked at random from the list on this thread
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
*You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them). NEW RULE!
* Ill post ANOTHER thread to quantify and track WHO has participated the most on these threads.

Heh Groady. That's great.
"Your feeble mind tricks on me do not work, Vulcan !" - About an hour in Photoshop CS. I quite like how the the shape of Spock's face turned out.
Maybe an interesting background could help this one ?

I like your sketch, Groady :)

Stepington - I'd like to see a race between those 2.
FiYoG - Ha Ha reminds me of the scene in Indiana Jones where the guy pulls out the giant sword so Indy just pulls out his gun ad shoots him.

Groady - LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!
Tonik - great concept and very well executed.

05 May 2005, 11:16 PM
Too bad I don't have time to make my idea. But, anyone who want can take it;
One from Star Wars and one from Star Trek standing at each others side talking, one holding a light saber, the other a phase gun (Phaser?);
-"Mine's out of battery..."
-"Damn, yours too?!"
05 May 2005, 11:41 PM
Spock was always getting into trouble during the thankfully-infrequent Pon Farr...
Didn't really have time to finish this up. :-/
45 minutes, Photoshop and Intuos.

(More of a crossover, but...)
Back in the old days, Scotty figured Enterprise would need some extra boosting to get to a far far away galaxy. LaForge got to try out his plans and thus was created the Enterprise X. When they got to the far far away galaxy, were acosted the bucket-head natives and a battle issued.
There was a tye.
Enterprise X was then highjacked by Q and the natives were inspired to create the X-Wings and the Tye-Fighters!
Pencil 10m + PS 2 h. Intuos. Ref used.
The perspective is a mess! *sigh* I really suck at this stuff...

Anikin: Eat my dust capitain Kirk!!!
Alias Sketch Book | Wacom | 30m.
05 May 2005, 02:28 PM
Sorry, my earlier post was a typo - meant to compliment SPLINEPUSHER! What a great entry!
Love yours too, The Ton!
Octothreat - poor LeForge!
Robertt - good one!
sepstrip - that's a race I'd love to see, but I don't think some punk kid Skywalker could outrun the Enterprise with Kirk on board. Always remember, without Sulu at the Helm and Scottie in Engineering, Kirk wouldn't have been nearly so great. But the 3 of them were pretty much unstoppable! :)
[Robinayles hangs her head in shame when she realizes what a Geek she really is!]
05 May 2005, 05:36 PM
grondhammar, octothreat and robinayles: thanks alot guys, you are very encouraging. much appreciated!
and robinayles: at least the geeks have a passion for something ;)
the ton: yeah pretty much alike :) the composition in urs make the star destroyer look really heavy and powerful, well done.
