I'm Hadi Aladdin (http://www.alaedin.com/hadiportfolio.html) - Owner and Manager of The Game Lunatics project.
First of all, I would like to say that I came to CGTalk.com because I know there are real pros here, and willing to work not only for money, but also for getting experience. I believe that even professional designers and workers always try to get more experience from FREE or Paid projects.
The game Lunatics, is a FREE Strategy Turn-Based Shooting Game, which is planned to be modelled (3D) in 2D Sprites mode.
Good/Professional Perl or C++ programmers who can deal with OpenGL API: Our game engine is ready and programmed by our Programming Team. We are in the Game Code level.
3D artists modellers and animators for character modelling:To make models for characters and some objects of the game world. Your work will be based on the References and Concept Sketches. The game engine accepts PNG extension for better integration. You can give us the work as .3DS or .MAX.
Artists character designers and concept artists: You will have to produce Concept Sketches for the modellers. Digital or traditional Concept works. The sketches will be for the characters and the weapons.
2D & 3D Levels makers:To make complete maps for levels. It includes 3D Polygons background and a Terrain where the user will be standing while playing.
Animatiors for the Game Intro and movie:You will be making the game intro depending on the story given from the Game Story Team. You will have to animate the characters in the movie and to create the needed environment with support of the 3D artists for the objects of the environment in the movie.
All team members need to be flexible and able to do works before the specified deadlines for them.

last time we talked you told me about your plans for this game, and to use it as a demo pitch in order to get financing for your company. I don't know if this plan changed in the meantime, but if not, it might be wise to tell this here.
Else people can be surprised in a less pleasant way when they hear it afterwards you know.

Thanks for your reply.
First of all, I don't have a company :)
This game will be FULL and FREE fromthe beginning.
First I couldn't get memebrs so I thought of making a small DEMO to request financial aid to complete the project. But my aim is to make a FREE Game now not to get investment as we don't need it!
Currently we have nearly 17 members working and no need for money for the game to be working!
Thanks alot for your note and wish we can co-operate in this project.

ok, so your plans changed I see.
Another thing I wonder about, you say this in the startpost:
-Up to 10 million players.
ehm, 10 million players??
05-14-2005, 01:16 PM
Sorry.. Thanks alot for the correction dude!
I will fix it.. 1 million not 10 million
05-14-2005, 01:26 PM
1 million is still quite a lot don't you think ... ?
05-14-2005, 01:45 PM
We must accept huge numbers.. but that doesn't mean that they are online always :)
But we have to be on the safe side.
Because the DEMO will be published on Download.com and on 9 IT Magaines (discussing this with some other magazines) so we will receive good amount of users!
Thanks for tracking the project!

well, i'm a new one here, but i'm interested by this project so how can i help?
I would like to volunteer but WILL NOT be volunteering for I can't model very well... anyway:
Does this not sound a bit like Gunbound? where you get a mobile and it's turn based AND you update your avatar? maybe you should change somethings around? I don't know, anyway, power to you, not many good arab games out there, I mean, just look at the cartoons we have (I have ART, oh, did I fail to mention I'm egyptian?) Are cartoons are fugly! Anywho, good luck and I hope to see this out sooon. Oh, btw, will some mobiles have special powers that others dont? that would be interesting, and diffrent, like if one could teleport, another dig, maybe another is not limited by gravity. What would be aweome though, is little mystery power ups, that when the user shoots, help them or hurt them, or like so something weird like make them invisible for a couple turns or flip the screen upside down for everyone or something.

We have so far:
All GUI (Graphical User Interfaces)

We are still in the Game Code level, more professionals are welcomed to join the project!
We hope to have our game online very soon..
