10-09-2002, 03:20 PM
I made it in 3dmax,this is a 3d works.
10-09-2002, 03:52 PM
nice work, very moody and barbaric...
I ove fantasy, so you'll get nothing but compliments from me;):airguitar :bounce: :buttrock:
10-09-2002, 05:25 PM
Hey would you be interested in a job? That is damn good and the high polygon look we are going for. If so contact me.
Wow, is that high-poly or what ?! Damn :D
Lei guo : I like the lightning in the first render.
Keep up the good work.
And people look, CG Talk brings people together. :deal:

Looks GREAT. However, and maybe its only a lighting effect, but the anti-cubital area, between the upper and forearms does not look right to me. I lloks like the muscles are attaching to far away from the joint. But so far that is the only thing I could find. This is a wondeful piece.
10-09-2002, 08:12 PM
Another gorgeous one. Great execution. The character design is believable while still fantasy oriented, a nice combo. His expression is well crafted too.
10-10-2002, 01:19 AM
incredibly simple bg but it looks so great
that wire learnt me alot :bounce:

Nice WOrk you need some stars
10-10-2002, 02:04 PM
Very nice ...reminds me of an old fantasy Novel cover
GREAT, looks like a 2D illustration !!
Great graeat job
10-10-2002, 09:11 PM
that`s truly incredible! how about posting a (closer)close up of the character so we can see some more details:)
10-10-2002, 09:35 PM
I really love the first render. Nice attention to detail. Although I feel the pic is very monotone and I think it will benefit from a dash of vibrant color. Like maybe his cape is a royal blue or red and the rest is that monotone yellow sepia type you have.
10-10-2002, 10:14 PM
I cant see the pictures :/
Its a small, red cross >_<
Edit: Sorry, i guess it was temporary
working now.. Really nice i must say, great textures and a cool and heroic pose, love it :D
10-10-2002, 10:52 PM
The character has hair in the non-textured render. Why doesn't he have hair in the final render? It looks really good. I'd like to see it in the final image.
10-11-2002, 12:03 AM
that's absolutely gorgeous.
the third render is my favorite, the one of the scene.

This is very good. why you only get 4 stars. i give you 5.
10-11-2002, 01:57 AM
you know something? First Asian Economy was taken over than all branded goods is made there. Next came WTO, with that the world economy took a different turn (uncharted teritory)... and now 3D. Have you guys notice that there is a trend here. Practically every post by chinese is looking very nice.
Do you hear a bell ringing? OOOoooo...Thats my wake up call!
Ok, i'll give 5 stars too.
10-11-2002, 01:59 AM
Hey, nice image, 5 stars.
10-11-2002, 02:53 AM
WOW!
The guy just received some job offer!! Is that bcause it is really an AWESOME MASTERPIECE??
why not 5 STARS ??:wip: :wip:
10-11-2002, 03:12 AM
Wow, I agree, China's coming on strong!
Great stuff lei guo!
I think what attracted my attention most is that the character shows attitude. He actually has emotion in that pose, facial expression.
I'm not too crazy about the lighting, I think it worked out great for the background, but not as much for the character. I think that expression could be well complimented with a stronger contrast, to give it more depth.
So far very good....welldone...:applause:
10-11-2002, 03:52 AM

:applause: Good work man! As a former lighting tech. your lighting hits the mood perfectly. Great pose too. Only the inner elbow area looks slightly off, but that's minor and a quick fix at that.
Where did you go to school in China? Where do you work if you are currently employed? I'm interested in what's out there in China and HK.
 amazing work..............i love the lighting model and all  :wavey: :wavey: :wavey: :wavey:

Outstanding work, obviously a labour of love. Terrific attention to detail in the modelling and the texturing and all topped off with some great lighting too from that low yellowed sunset/rise.
I love the expression on the guys face, too often I see high quality but expressionless faces.
Excelent work, well done.
10-11-2002, 12:08 PM

Have you got a website we can visit and take a look at any of your other work?
Its definitely a 5 star....i do think the wolves on the wall should be more weathered though....with less specularity....just a thought. keep up the good work.
when somene gets their work to this level I never bother nitpicking
the part that makes this image for me is the characters face,
it gives the whole scene the necessary punch
very well done!

This is fantastic stuff....I love the whole lot....they are very very good.
My advice is get yourself a website....the more people who see this work the better. It would be a crime not to display your work to a wider audience. Keep up the good work.
10-12-2002, 09:59 PM
thank you for my new wallpaper Lei:buttrock: This is exactly why I decided to go into doing digital matte work instead of spending the next few years of my life working up to this level. Outstanding stuff!!!!!!!!!! I'm just glad you're not some punk kid still in high school with way too much time on his hands. There aren't enough stars to give a proper ranking. needs like 95 more!
GREAT WORK, LEI!

VERY impressive piece...In my opinion that deserves to be on the cover of a best seller novel!!
Great work...I love how the scene has not one hard/sharp feature and the lighting dramatically improves his facial expression.
5 stars dude...you rock!!:buttrock:
10-14-2002, 04:57 AM
Wow, I like your style very much! Did you do any post-effects in Photoshop/Painter? It's very 2D like...and surely very medieval looking!
