View Full Version : Lowrider Bikes [hdri]

10 October 2002, 02:16 AM

This is my first post on CgTalk, i think its time to get some crits on a few of my renders...

This pic was rendered as a bit of a promo for myself, all modelled in max4, rendered with Vray...

I have attached [hopefully] an overall shot, plus a few close ups as i rendered it at 3000x2000 originally, so the smaller version doesnt show up some of the details...

Let me know what you guys think.

[i have a few more pics i've done recently that i may post later]

Pretty nice rendering! I'd like to see each bike with a different paint scheme, those things usually have great paint jobs! Try doing something cool with the 3 primary colors, lowrider style of course! Great first post!

that chrome looks top notch but i think there is too much of it...maybe make the pedals all black and the frame of the bike, as mentioned, a primary colour.

The chain should have some oil/grease.

I cant see from these renders if the tryes have tread....but you could lighted the areas in the tyre where it makes contact with the ground.

Very nice indeed :bounce: :buttrock:

MAXer3d : wireframe is below... its not that exciting, just a max screenshot. the mesh is pretty dense as i was trying to keep everything as smooth as possible for the high res output.

[poly count is about 400k polys ber bike]

thanks for the tips. i'll do up a coloured one soon...

This looks really great :)
Very nice design.

Just one thing for the peddals (3rd detail). They look very slippery. When you try to ride it like this, your feet will slip of.
And could you show us the place where the front fork is attached to the frame? That seems to be a very original solution, but in the 1st render it is too small to see and in the 2nd it misses a part.

Nice work :)

You feel me nigga?!

yeah boyyyyy.
i hear ya. it does have a pimpin' westside kinda feel to it ...

i'll whack up a shot of those forks later... they're sold as 'springer forks' from lowrider bike places. they look cool huh?
